Your comment about them having plenty is spot on. It's almost May 2022 and I still see these selling NEW online, and at a price below MSRP. You called it.
i love how most people are trying to convince themselves not to pick up this LE Blue Willard by saying they prefer the green but deep inside they know they want. Also the black re-interpretation is not the same as the original one and people who owns the OG 6105-8110/9 knows why. The collectivity of this blue will just go up because it's a limited numbered edition. 10 years from now, the regular releases will be there but try getting the blue in mint condition.. Great pick up Falling Titan
I got my SPB183 today, great watch. The blue is great, it wears nicely. The bracelet is really short, i did not have to remove anything, i just used the microadjust.
Stunning colorway bro... But I'm sticking with my black/original dial. Great review as always... P. S. Aren't our wives related? Coz I sure can relate with you! 🤣🤣🤣
Nice review. The blue limited edition does look nice but I still prefer my black dial version. It’s more true to the original Willard with the history.
I had to edit my comment. This review has the information I’m looking for. Getting ready to pull the trigger on this one and I value your opinion on watches. Thanks for sharing.
Don't worry bro.. Check out this video at 8 minutes and 43 seconds I did a wrist shot with it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Njb3cVBwsHc.html
I did treat my 6.5" wrist to a bb58 this year. It is excellent apart from the bracelets lack of adjustment. No half links and in need of a 4th micro adjustment. The clasp is also wider than my wrist. Bezel is excellent and looks great in matt Finnish.
I'm a recovering Seikoholic. I have found a way. I really looked at the value, then kept on going for years, and finally built the strength, and quit. Life is so much easier now.
UPDATE: Original Owner Not Responding. So the Perfect Alignment chapter ring, Bezel insert, Lume pip, Hands, Movement Limited Willard X is mine now if I want it. Wife still saying no. but but but I think I have to go to the bank now and drive 50min to pick it up again. wish I didnt drive it back in the first place lol. I thought original owner would be there to get it.
@@vict9062 Had it on for about 5 days straight. I need a black seiko OEM strap for it. the original is too blue. but still love it. I'm on a wait list for a seiko strap lolololol HOW CRAZY IS THAT!!!! I can see myself keeping this for a long long time UNLESS in 2021 seiko makes a nicer color willard that I must have. then i'll flip. But I know 100% i must always have a willard in the collection. As I sold my green one i regretted it instantly.
Love the way you present a watch. Bought one of the watch (SPB185j) after looking at your review. Love that watch.... Now I have this one on hold from the same AD... but thinking should I get this one or go for another brand now since I have one seiko already
nice to see a first actual review about SBDC123. although I am not a dark blue guy, the watch is still very cool as Seiko always does. Thanks for the review!
Hi Falling, does the Bracelet and Clasp have the Seiko Diashield just like the case? Do you think we can reconfirm this with your Seiko friend/ connection ? Coz some other reviews say the bracelet and clasp got the Diashield. Thanks a lot Falling.
Well worded and review, a 10/10 but the turtle (doesn't matter if this is a limited edition) doesn't appeal to me. The bracelet isn't the best, pins on a limited edition, and although milled clasp, the cover is too thin just like all low and mid range Seikos. Although I can't see why they won't upgrade their clasps (in all their models) I would expect on a limited piece something better. The lugs on the Willard could have been 21mm as it's a bulky case. The lug to lug is moderate making it suitable for a wide range of wrists. The blue on this model is great, and despite the fact that I opt for other colors, I do like this one. All in all, with a better bracelet (wider and thicker) and better clasp I could consider it. Enjoy watches in good health and keep great reviews:)
My only gripe with mine is that the date isn't quite centred in its window. Not a deal breaker but a bit annoying although I am one of the lucky one's with a perfectly aligned bezel. It's a fantastic watch. There are haters of course as there are with any watch, the most common reason being the price but hey, if you're that bothered, go drop 9k on a 007 Seamaster. Each to their own. All watches are overpriced when you consider that for the intended purpose, a $20 casio will do a better job.
same! theres 1 or 2 used bb58's added to the reddit watch exchange every day almost! i see it. so very easy to get used for a slight discount. wonder why no one is holding on to them! (thewatchexchange)
Pretty identical specs, just different styles and up to your preferences. I have an SPB149 and its amazing. Amazing wrist presence and a bit more understated although stunning. But again it’s really up to what you want.
the 183 has a little more character and historical significance. differences are case shape, seconds hand style, tone and color of blue, size. watch my 149 review to see. the 149 is a re-imagination of seikos first divers watch.
Maybe unpopular opinion: bought a spb149j1 even if it costs +1000 because i just love it and hoped that being first model and LE it will maybe keep value. VERY ANGRY at Seiko for coming out with new LEs every week almost, including this and all others. They’re making toms of money now but losing interest and trust by buyers in the long term imo, which will of coure result in watches made from now on losing about all value since they will not be “the rare ones”. Am i the only one thinking that? Ps: of course making 10000000000 new watches a year means also having about no QC, so even worse effect on future sales / user trust
Buy yourself a Sinn 104 Black dial - for the same money as they Seiko Willard re-issue. The quality difference is considerable and with a swiss movement, antimagnetic, bi-directional countdown timer bezel, 200m, screw-down crown, sapphire glass and sapphire glass back exhibition case with a lightly decorated movement - it's a fantastic daily as covers all bases and a real strap monster and also holds its money. I also have the Willard, which I like, but objectively and quality-wise - there's a lot better for 1k + out there. Sinn is a good example of quality for the money.
it was sold. the one im wearing is a mod. 143 MODDED. the greeen willard i knew wont hold value and i can get it alot less later from my AD. i bought it over seas to be first on youtube with it for a lot more. and the willard sold in 12 hours. the 63mas took weeks and weeks and weeks to sell!
i didnt show the work. in the 143 video. i talk about how it was misaligned dial chapter ring. and how I might swap it with my 149 dial that i have in my explorer mod. I ended up doing it. if you notice my 149 has a silver seconds hand now. because its a 143!~ lol
friend close to seiko sent me one. It was a defect one. it has 2 specs on it. but can only be seen with a 5X macro lens. but the chapter ring is printed on perfectly. which i care about the most. it drives me nuts when i look down and 12 o clock is off by so much! in the end i like the 149 dial and it bursts nice in the sun so i dont mind having it back over the 143. altho the 143 is more tru to the original.
Great review as usual. However, I will probably be a minority opinion regarding this watch. I love my Willard green dial but this latest iteration of the Seiko Willard seems to be a cash grab by Seiko. By making it a limited edition increases the interest to obtain one of these. The black and green versions are sufficient to me. Admittedly this is a cynical opinion but I'm seeing Seiko increasing prices on their newer models with just slight adjustments to movements featured in previous models costing hundreds of dollars less. Also, Seiko still hasn't solved bezel alignment issues which should never be an issue with a $1000 plus watch. To those of you who purchase this watch, enjoy.
blue is the trend of 2020 it seems. So not surprising seiko wants to capitalize. they are in it to win it...or to survive and be profitable after all. I do agree the price increases suck but when compared to higher priced swiss models. stay tuned next week I battle this watch. you will see. Seikos have been under priced for a while now.
King Turtle dark mamta 500usd +7second per day Got it over the Willard Cant justify the Willard price and that movement the jurys out but many say it can be a dog
marathon has a bracelet made with screws as so many other watches in price point or even half, a fake rolex has screws in bracelet made in china like this bracelet they could use screws
I am tempted but if I got a Turd like the ones many other reviewers did that is + or - 19 seconds or worse and the bezel was out of line I would be pissed. Seiko QC is garbage
seiko makes 60,000 watches every 5 hours. for that level of speed their QC is a little bit of a god's miracle its not worse. Stick to swiss brands if your so concerned in my opinion.
@@EscapementWatch I was able to pick up. a 2 month old SBDC111 from a member of WUS for $775 . It's a good one and I love it !!! My only Seiko in the collection
The poor man Rolex is actually your Tudor not the Seiko. Tudor is intended for customer is not savvy enough to on the list get a Submariner. I own both Seiko and Rolex so go to an AD try to get Submariner and you see what I mean, if you're not their VIP customers they will walk to you to the Tudor display
