I had the Amazon exclusive black version as my first mechanical watch. This was about 5 years ago, when one could purchase them for less than $100 on Amazon. I gave it to my nephew and it was his first mechanical watch. I gifted his mother the green version and his grandmother the cream version. They were much respected and admired. I was told that Grandma's was wore everyday until the hardlex failed and Mother's was stolen by a "friend" . Great video, I look forward to the next one.

The cream dial was the watch that started my collection. I beat it up so much at work that I bought a second one...and then the blue dial version...and then the black. LOL Like you, I don't wear them all the time, because I have others that I like to wear as well, but I do think they are beautiful, and I really do appreciate them. Thanks for the great content!

The first automatic watch I purchased is a Seiko 5. Wanted to see if a mechanical watch would work with my daily life without spending too much money in case I didn't like it. Very pleased with its quality and performance for the price paid.

Hey Ashley! Just discovered your channel and I am soooooo happy to know there are watch enthusiasts content creators coming out of Malaysia! Also I love your Avocado plushie in the background, I have one similar to it lmao! This particular watch was one of my first automatic watches. Used it as the dial has resemblance to Flieger dials, I use it in aviation.

I bought the SNK805 as my first Seiko…ended up gifting it to my son since it was a Lillie small for me. But it worked out because the display case back sparked his interest in mechanical watches now!

Did you think about getting a Tissot PRX 35mm, if not to buy, somehow borrow for a review? Would be curious to hear your thoughts on it. A more general video about "watches for smaller wrists" would also be very interesting. Routing for your 500 subscriber goal!

Thank you so much for such an encouraging support! Yes - I've tried on the Tissot PRX 35mm, and considered of getting it. But I will wait probably sometime next year because I heard rumours that there will be 35mm auto instead of only quartz. And thanks for the video idea 🥰

Hi Ashley, I'm with you; I can't afford to "collect" watches, I just accumulate them. "Collecting" implies a higher budget with some specific goals in mind, like: GMTs, Automatics, Seikos, or some categorical plan. "Accumulating" is more like a dresser top which, left unattended, will accumulate dust. As a suggestion for a future video, maybe you could dive into why Seiko has such broad specifications for accuracy, even on their 6R35 movement (-15 to +25 seconds per day). I know that most of these movements are much more accurate than that, but if somebody just happens to get one that loses 14 seconds per day, they're stuck with a $700+ watch that keeps lousy time, because it's still within spec. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing your next video - Subscribed and Liked.

I own and like this watch, but two features that I don't like are the non-hacking movement and the crown is two small to grab. There may be better values else where for the money.

Just an opinion--I think the lack of hacking would also disqualify it from being a field watch. Like you say, "inspired by" but not it. I suppose if anyone were really bothered by it, they could swap in an NH36 movement to get hacking and stop needing the 'Seiko shake'. 🙂

Beware : those first price automatic Seiko are very unreliable and inaccurate. I got a Seiko 5 Sports SNZG, it became inaccurate after only 1 year : +45 sec per day !

There was also the odd Amazon exclusive SNKM95 with a red dial, too! I have owned several Seiko 5 SNK80x models over the years and I would love to see the rebranded logo and 4R movement in this case size and style-the current 40mm models are great but the lug-to-lug measurement is too long for my 17cm circumference wrist.

My first automatic watch in ages was the 805, which I still have and got back when it was cheap as chips, less than 50 dollars. I doubt we see those prices again! Great video and subscribed!

@@ashleytee Yeah... I believe that, originally, one of the 5 characteristics of a Seiko 5 was that it had to be priced at or under 5000 yen (around $50 USD). Unfortunately, gone are the days of cheap Seikos 🤣... I have the SNK807 and I got it for around £50. At that price, it was definitely the best budget auto field watch. I really like it's size, perfect for my baby-sized wrists. It's a shame that it is now discontinued. The newer "replacement" versions are larger and much more expensive. Great channel by the way!!!! 💯Very informative and detailed reviews. It is very nice to see that some women also share the passion for watches!!!
