Thanks Rob for the assist here! Check out his great channel- / @randomrobreviews Global purchase recommendation- mimosjewelry.com/collections/... JDM purchase recommendation- www.japan-onlinestore.com/Rel... Thanks for watching
thanks Bruce for bringing us those quality videos on the latest watches. this is one of the best watch channel on YT and I like your "attention to Seiko watches".
Just received mine. Perfect alignment and fast delivery have me very happy. The watch exceeds my expectations. It's a beauty. I have an Uncle Seiko waffle strap coming tomorrow although I have to say that the original silicon/rubber strap included is a way better than the one that came with my Panerai 243!
Absolutely gorgeous watch, quality control issues be damned. The standard Turtle is maybe the best bargain dive watch from Seiko (though the Samurai wants to be mentioned, too) and these King Turtle variants are making a great watch even better. I don't even mind the cyclops on this one, though I don't mind cyclops in general. Beautiful stuff!
Just got this from an AD in the UK very pleased everything lines up no particles under the crystal. It runs about 5 seconds a day fast got around 20% discount not sure if this is good or bad?but I was happy enough. The lume is great I have a omega seamaster 300 Pro new version which is beautiful BTW and the lume is at least equal to that watch overall the king turtle is a cool watch for the money great vid Bruce.
I got the PADI21 the other day and just got this one. Going to swap the bands and put the bracelet on this one and put the black rubber one on the PADI. Looks like a win/win for me. And I need to stop buying watches else the wife will start to ask questions. We don't want that.
I got a clean well aligned global version from a local AD. At first I just wanted the black one but this one in person is beautiful. I was hesitant until the AD offered me 30% off so i jumped on it. I like it on the rubber strap. I will eventually pick up the black dial. I also would like the new samurai with the white dial. I now have a SKX, monster, turtle STO and samurai STO.
Ordered mine from Gnomon got lucky no bezel misalignment. Wears well, the strap is comfortable. It is a JDM version. Small discount from loyalty credits and they ship fast. Haven’t noticed imperfections but really haven’t looked real close. Wonderful looking dial and like the cyclops. 63 years old and makes it easy to read. Could do without the day. But it is what it is. But somewhat nice to ha e kanji and English as a choice.
Hi from Japan. I love your camera work. Your video promotes my appetite to buying this.... Your movie is really close to watch. And no flutter. It is really difficult skill. I want your skill! Thank you for making good contents!
I ordered one from Mimo's last week and I love it. I put a Strap code jubilee on it and it looks fantastic. The watch is also performing fantastic, I'm getting about -1 to +1 a day. i can't say enough about Mimo, he's fantastic and made the whole purchase process a pleasure. I highly recommend him and the watch.
just ordered mine and decided to order an Seiko's OEM bracelet, which is the one that comes installed with black dial version of the Kink Turtle. The silicone strap is nice but not my thing.
@Sergio Sanchez I hope you love yours as much as I love mine! It is a gorgeous king turtle, especially with the sapphire crystal, the thick bezel, the ceramic insert, and that stunning blue dial. I love that the balance on the second hand is a sharks tail and is different to the sharks fin. I like the candy bar cyclops as it is useful for my old eyes. I always thought I preferred having a bracelet with any watch, but the black rubber/silicone strap is so soft and comfortable that I often forget I am wearing a watch. They look really nice with the stainless steel buckle and keeper that has the Seiko name on them, and are so incredibly comfortable that I intend to buy more, but only the official black Seiko straps.
I love turtle, and love the extra upgrades in this special edition. Just disappointed though they don't include the steel bracelet with the special edition. Seiko should include both option in all their special edition.
@Orang Eden I can understand why you feel that way, I have always preferred and liked bracelets, and I wasn’t sure if I would like the Seiko rubber/silicone strap. But what a surprise! The black strap is so soft and so incredibly comfortable, that I would forget I was wearing a watch, I definitely intend to get at least one more black strap. I love the big stainless steel buckle and keeper that have the Seiko logo on them, I think it looks a hell of a lot nicer with them. I will probably buy more than one, if I can find out where to buy a genuine Seiko rubber/silicone strap.
Got mine from Seiya japan. $498 . I put a strapcode angus jubilee from my old non jdm turtle that i killed and it looks amazing. .. yes chapter ring is off a lil bit .
I just bought mine but they did not have the divers box that comes with it so i requested them to order me the box along with a new watch and a blue strap. They decided to give me the display watch for some reason to hold on to till they recieve the new watch and box along with the blue strap. The sales people are probably the worst that i have dealt with made the whole experience not so happy 😂. But regardless i am excited to start swimming with this baby!! Great review 👏
The "bearded baby" (that's what my wife call you, thought you might get a kick out of that! ) strikes again. Thanks for another excellent video young man!
Just got the seiko sumo black edition,I really like it.But the bezel is off by a mil and it’s my first seiko with this issue.as it’s a nice watch,I can live with it.got it at discount of £100 . so happy days.but with everything going on around the world can’t grumble.stay safe and hope this virus doesn’t stay around much longer🙏🏻❤️
Hello Bruce, love your channel, thats a nice king turtle compared to the original turtle. Can you do a comparison between newest seiko sumo or maybe the black limited edition sumo and the baby marine master 200? both are nice watches with nice specs and design, thanks.
I’d really like a SRPE99K (Pepsi Padi) though can pick up a SBDY047 (JDM version of the SRPE07) for basically the same price. Although I’ve got to admit, given Seiko’s QC issues a San Martian Captain Willard homage is very tempting. Even the cheaper Steeldive or Heimdallr homages sound like excellent value. The question I need to answer is how much do I value that word “Seiko” on the dial.
hi! this is a very nice watch and review... do you know if there's a GMT turtle model? also what is the model name for the orange watch? thanks so much!!
I ordered a JDM version with the black waffle dial and it came with slightly disappointing alignment as well as a bracelet disconnected upon opening with a pin collar/tube nowhere to be found. Bad experiences happen, I’m not mad. I hope for better next time, though.
Amazon Japan are actually selling the “made in Japan” version for $500. However, it must be remembered these watches are using the 4r35 movements, just one grade up from the 7s26. While it is a durable, tried and tested movement, it is also used, for example, in some Seiko 5 models costing under $200. I think when you get into the realm of $600, Seiko could have used the new 6r35 movements or even the older 6r15s as used in the $360 sarbs.
My sister got me an alpinist sarb017 from japan with scratches on the dial. The watch was bought new. The scratches are only visible when the light hits at an angle. Really disappointed, i had to live with it as is it no longer possible to return the watch. The compass seems to shift off track at certain points.
My pip and chapter ring line up perfectly. Too bad they don't line up with the 12 o'clock sword. I also have several JDM and international sales Seikos with lint fibers between the dial and crystal. Unacceptable quality control, Seiko.
Sacrilegious gutting excellent Turtles to breathe life into crappy skx's 😱...not a fan of cyclops, tho my eyes are old too, but really don't like the date on a diver - just wish they made no date versions. Cheers 👍🏻👍🏻
@Carlos Andres Bautista Wow! That’s an unbelievable bargain! I’ve seen that you’ve advertised a few of these on different watch review channels. If I lived near you I would buy at least tenteen or twelvety, unfortunately I live on a different planet in another galaxy, and It would cost a hell of lot more than that, to have them delivered to me. Time travel is unbelievably expensive at this time in the universe, and light years away from moonbeams in the shadows of black holes.
I have one of these watches and it’s absolutely perfect man! Maybe your buddy has already screwed with it in an unclean room or desk? Seiko doesn’t get DUST in their watches man, come on! It’s like a hospital there!
If they have alignment issues or dust or lint on the dial, you should always send them back. Mine has no alignment issues. Even the candy bar cyclops is perfectly level with the day and date. There is no dust or lint under the sapphire crystal or on the dial or indexes. I ask for any watch to be checked for alignment issues, a clean dial and a perfectly level cyclops on any watch that I want to buy. I got 3 Seiko watches between February and March, the King Turtle in this review, the PADI Turtle with the Pepsi bezel and sunburst blue dial, and the Samurai with this same stunning blue dial, with the different bezel, indexes and hands. All of them are perfect!
Those Cyclops are ugly. I removed mine from my 3rd gen monster very easily. I'm gonna have to get another watch with a Cyclops and make a video to show everybody how to remove it without fire and without taking your watch apart like some of the videos on you tube.
