If you have high BP or you had a stroke then you might have seizures I'm a doctor and I help people who had a stroke and I give them a shot that makes the blood break up and they go home when the blood is broken up and I get reports that the strokes made seizures

I stumbled upon your video while searching for a video explaining seizures for a young lady who has been working with my son. She’s been inspired by him and is interested in a nursing program to become a NP. Now she has a resource for her studies. Great job! Doctors should watch this.

As a person that had a left temporal lobe tumor (astrocytoma), along with seizures, I can tell you that I've experienced the Aura, deja vu, nausea, along with the focal motor (tonic) sensations. Now I know in much more detail what's happening in my brain. Great explanation. PS: Keppra (Leveteracetam) is what I was prescribed.

Love your vids. I'm an Rn and worked in neuro step-down and rehab, general rehab, medsurg, and also psych. Some of what you said here reminded of some of my psychiatric patients not presenting with seizures, but with mental abnormalities caused by some of the metabolic causes you mentioned. But that's not the point of my comment. 2001 (age 21) I started having seizures. More specifically complex partial seizures. Never had any trigger, aura or warning. They just happened. I was treated with several medicines for 6 years with no benefit. In 6 years of treatment I also had a few big bad seizures. It turns out I had a BRAIN TUMOR in my left temporal lobe. How it was missed on MRI for YEARS still baffles me. Fortunately several different tests determined it was safe to remove. The tumor happened to be a PLEOMORPHIC XANTHOASTROCYTOMA. It may be rare, but seizures are usually the only symptom. In hindsight, I know it was affecting me psychologically years before the seizures started. You can add this tumor to the list of neoplastic causes of seizures. Unfortunately, because of the tumor and surgery location, my mental and emotional health was unstable. To be brief, I was forced to leave nursing. But the good part of this story is I'm healthy now with no deficit. No seizures since 2007 and no neuro follow ups since 2016. I'm still trying to figure out who I am sinces the tumor removal but thats beside the point. My point is you can add a PXA to your list of tumors. Thanks for your vids. They are awesome.

Hi guys! Thanks for this. I’m on a crash course to learn as much as I possibly can about seizures because I was just diagnosed with a seizure condition. My neurologist can’t be much more specific yet-looks like more time and observation is needed before he can narrow it down. I think you might consider adding psychedelic drugs to your list of drugs that lower the seizure threshold. I know because it happened to me-a combination of LSD and lithium back in 1992 gave me a huge bout of clonic/tonic seizures (full on status epilepticus) for at least an hour, followed by a coma for about 6-7 hours. I also fell on my face so hard that I broke my nose. Since then, I’ve had a handful of seizures under circumstances where I would have never had them before-dehydration, flashing lights, etc. Then, about 6 years ago I started having severe migraines, tinnitus, and weird visual phenomena that usually behave like migraine auras but sometimes don’t. My neurologist says my brain looks like I played football in college: I have small bits of collected scar tissue from TIAs over the years, related to what looks like pretty constant seizure activity. I’m still learning the terminology, but I think I have both absence and different types of focal seizures. I did have a lot of concussions as a kid because I was a crazy tomboy and I also snowboarded and hit my head a few times doing that, so that could be related, but I doubt I would be having the problems I have now had I not messed around with that particular combo of drugs. (Too bad, for me anyway, because I actually did get a lot of therapeutic benefit from psychedelics, and I think there’s a lot of real potential in the research being done in psychology and, hopefully, psychopharmacology, for depression and anxiety and other issues that are difficult to treat). We’ve landed on Topomax for now to hopefully deal with the migraines and cut down on the seizure activity. I was already taking Esgic and Diazepam, for the migraines and anxiety respectively, so maybe the cocktail will work without our having to move on to some of the anti-epileptic meds that have more intense side effects.

Hi !!! It sounds like you have heavy metals in your brain !!! So you need to take the HEAVY METAL DETOX SMOOTHIE BY MEDICAL MEDIUM. He has written 6 books, if I was you, I will be getting these books & learn how to finally heal. Because if you are waiting for your neurologist, you'll be trapped by the pharmaceutical drugs. I know that you can heal......!!!
