@@angerykenboi1959 This game must be a played by a monk or meditating people. Cuz you can't rush it... you have to patiently wait your opportunity to strike. Every time I try to crush boss, I ended being the one who laid on the ground. Especially when boss have like 1% healthy... I always ended up being the one who died.

Thrust attacks are too difficult to be evaded, Mikiri counter or perfect deflection is the only way

that what i was thinking too... you basically wanna keep the bosses attacking or in motion so their posture health doesnt regenerate. now with the monk it seems that you can deflect the attacks in a certain way to keep the monk attacking you... kinda like a stun lock but more sinister

I guess the second one isn't a sweep technically, since there isn't a kanji appearing, and you can't - ever - deflect a sweep.

Sekiro is so awesome. He beats the shit out of every being from Samurais and beasts to Divine Dragon.

And this is coming from a noob who lost 30+ times to Genichiro. That fight is just too hectic and erratic for me.

To be honest, I think the first time you encounter the monk is harder. I beat the true monk on my second try. The first two rounds were a joke and the third was a little harder for me because of the terror build up which i ran into accidently. I thought Genichiro was harder too. For me those were the hardest bosses so far.

@@theholt2ic219 I mean, Memory Owl is still a raging dickwaffle. Don't get me started on Swords Saint Isshin. Or... him. Huh, Sekiro has a ton of Bosses that cross the "so hard, I'm not even having fun anymore" - threshold for me, come to think of it.

I feel like memory owl and great Shinobi owl is quite easy after you learn all his attack patterns.

@@mareksicinski3726 gives you more spirit emblems to perform combat arts, use prosthetic tools, etc, the special attack ongbal was using (the fast multi-slash, i dont remember its name) requirs spirit emblems, so ceremonial tanto was used.

@@nick43357 I can only imagine what the devs were thinking when they made that item. dev 1: "ok, how about an item that curse your health in half in exchange for spirit emblems?" dev 2: "why?" dev 1: because we both know our playerbase are a bunch of monsters that dont need the health bar.

You can also trap Sword Saint Isshin in a loop in his first phase when he does his Ashina Cross Cancel

@@Inkinthegrass literally my strat I discovered myself. I just started playing Sekiro this late 2022 and I noticed that even in my first playthrough, the moment he loads himself for that Ashina Cross, run circles around him and if he cancels it he'll do the same move over and over in the phase one. phase 2 is literally different, very hard and him stepping into the gas pedal is something different I can't make him loop.

But it costs 3 per use. Even with 24 spirit emblems, you can only use it 8 times (and mine is only 19). I use it for emergency only, when it's too late to dodge.

@@doryaman Yep, it's just one of many fun options. This game has fantastic potential for diversity of approach to bosses. Game of the Year was well-deserved.

I think the best use for most raven is to counter lightning attacks , it's much easier and you don't even take cheap damage , not to mention it looks cool as fuck .

Vibranium has survived a blast from galactus so no.. but the insane durability of wolf's katana can possibly be attributed to his flawless parrying technique that enable him to deflect a huge chunk of force from each impact

Slowly walking up to the bosses and admiring them instead of using the openings to attack is something everyone should do during subsequent playthroughs as it lets you realise how beautiful this game is once more.

Exactly, But you can't beat him the first time unless you git gud, so they are basically preparing you for this and it delivers. Once you have learned his attacks from the first fight, he becomes a piece of cake

@@charleschucksantos thank you but that wasn’t the point. When I learn the fights, I don’t want any skips, cheeses or one shots. You can also fire cracker/ ash every 3 seconds. The point was to parry every single attack in that fight and I was learning it in that way.

Every game is just a rhythm game... Its the intensity and unpredictability of the rhythm that make a game hard... In a game like say hollow knight... If a boss is giving you a .5 second window and the same boss giving you a .2 second window automatically makes the second one more "difficult" even tho they are the same boss... Every game is hard depending of the reaction time of the player when a game surpasses that avrage reaction time then it is labelled "hard"...

Mei Mesaki I definitely agree, but in most games you have to perfect multiple unique and different mechanics to beat a boss. This game is about testing your mastery to hit your R1 button at the same moment the boss attacks you. I would say literally ANY fromsoftware game is harder than Sekiro. Because sure you can dodge and block but usually it is not enough. In this game, ONE mechanic will carry you throughout out the whole game.

MazokuWolf Yes, Sekiro is really just about pressing R1 at the right time. That sounds easy, but in practice it’s much more complicated. Each major boss has its own moveset and timing that takes repeated attempts to grasp. That, combined with the high damage of most bosses can lead to frustration and many failed attempts. When you really look at it, there’s a demand for perfection in Sekiro that isn’t present in Souls or Bloodborne. You can scrape by Midir by only mastering 70-80% of his attacks, but you can’t beat Owl Father unless you know his attacks like the back of your hand.

And it's not just R1 (L1 in fact..) for most bosses... You have to master Mikiri, jump and often other techniques also

When the attacks are this fast the game usually doesn't require you to press the button again. He most likely only pressed block once and deflected both attacks. I could be wrong tho...

yeah he did this in his previous true monk fights... he fought the bosses in many ways. the base attack power vs true monk is awesome. great strats

“It doesn’t feel like a real sword fight” Real sword fights aren’t very exciting or very long. Improvisation can be dope in this game but if you’d rather watch it then go ahead. This gameplay requires more skill and others enjoy watching it.
