It's so sad to think that the outfit she wore that night is what she would be buried in. She was unbelievably beautiful, talented, and humble. Her fans will love her forever.
People say that Selena only became famous after her death. No, she was growing her last few years and this is an example. She won all her nominations. It's because she was able to show so much potential in her short life, people felt extremely impacted by her sudden death, and grew a tremendous legacy after her passing.
Jonathan Guzman Selena was filling arenas and stadiums before she died. People who say that are idiots! She could draw huge crowds, already had a slew of #1 hits, and a Grammy.
i think when they say that they mean to the english community. sadly we only got two songs from her b4 she passed but if she aint die man oh man she would of been beast look how much we love her now.
SELENA was larger than life. Of course her death blew her image up more as it tends to do in cases like this but she was already a huge sensation before her tragic passing.
it’s 2020 and she still holds the record for the astrodome, she sold it out, she beat Micheal Jackson- Selena’s famous because of her music, her talent, and her her personality, her as a person, there’s many people that could have talent like hers, and not get anyways because of their personality. Selena was such a genuine, down to earth person, she was so loving and caring. Everyone loved her.
She earned all of those awards, she wasn’t just handed them . So proud of you Selena. You’re still accomplishing things although you’re no longer with us
Selena was something else I tell you, the other female tejano nominees couldn't top her and still can't top her today!! Selena had that special something.
I like how she pulls Pete to go on stage with her although he had left the group the year before as if to say, "you're still part of the group in a sense". She was so humble.
He help write all their songs they were just a band till he came he had good taste and help Selena brother with the word in Spanish. At the end he didn't want to be behind Selena he want to be together he made a lot of money
with tears streaming down my face just repeating over and over again it's not fair. it's not fair. it's not fair. 23 years was too short. it's just not fair.
Five amazing awards in one night, very impressive. We were blessed to have SELENA FOR 23 YEARS. WHAT AN LEGACY SHE LEFT BEHIND. GOD HEIP US TO GET THROUGH THIS TRAGIC TIME. I WISH SHE WAS HERE TODAY IN 2021. LOVE YOU FOREVER SELENA.. REST NOW WITH JESUS CHRIST..
@@jeffreyknight3884 yes, I thought just the same cuz we failed to keep her safe. It is too easy to lose to Selena this way. The murderer was her best & most trusted person. On top of that, the murderer used to be a registered nurse and she didn't even try to help aid the wound instead she ran after Selena with a gun yelling "bitch". So awful and just the other opposite end of Selena.
Alex, get the book about the trail. It's called.. JUSTICE FOR SELENA... PROSECUTION HAD THIS CASE WON IN IT'S OPENING STATEMENTS. THE DEFENSE LIED AND REALLY HAD NO WAY TO AQUIT THAT EVIL yolanda. Thank GOD SELENA GOT JUSTICE.
She was absolutely beautiful inside and out. She was so loved and adored by so many. It really did feel like you knew her. Like she was one of us. A friend a sister. A role model to so many. I was 8 when she passed. I cried all night. I couldn't understand how someone could hurt my Selena. I'm almost 35 now and my heart still feels like a piece is missing . I cry when I look back at old videos. She was my inspiration. I wanted to be just like her. R.i.p. Selena forever in our hearts💔💜😭🙏
Definitely taken too soon. She was such a shining star and way ahead of her time. Makes no sense someone this truly special and gifted was taken so tragically. 💔
man she was winning awards from left to right💜💜💜 and they say a female cant do tejano music at that time??? 😂😂😂 in your face haters!! ohhh my queen will always have a place in my heart💜 the first time i've heard of her was in 1996 of course from the movie. i was 6 years old and now i'm 28. i will always love me some SELENA 👑
Hertin01 I was 30 and my son was about 7 months old at the time of her death. I think it was a Friday. I must've gotten home from work and switched the tv on and it was plastered all over the news. I was like, "What! No way." Could not believe it. I knew of SELENA but I had no idea how big she really was bc she sang TEJANO music. I was more familiar with Gloria Estafan and the Miami Sound Machine around that time. I would hear Selena y Los Dinos music on the radio when I wanted to hear some Latin music. BBBB came out and was such a catchy tune. I loved it. I couldn't wait for SELENA's English Album to come out in July of that year. I heard 'I could fall in love' on the radio and my heart just broke. It really did. I cried bc this girl had worked so hard to cross over. She had wanted this for years. Finally it happens, her dreams come true only to be taken away very drastically by hate and evil. Chris, the poor guy couldn't listen to 'Dreaming of you' for the longest time bc SELENA had wanted him to come to the studio to listen to this song and he couldn't get away right then which he regretted for a long time afterward bc he knew she had him in her mind while singing it. Well, anyway may SELENA rest in God's peace.💝
I have never seen any other artist say hello to everyone or always smile! Her heart was too big for this world. God gave us her just to show us angels do exist 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Te Amo Selena 💜💜💜
She accomplished in the few blessed years that god gave her, what no other female tajano artist did in a lifetime... She is literally still alive in our hearts and through her music...
Ver estás imágenes me da mucha tristeza.
This Tejano Music Awards was held on February 11, 1995, which was Selena's last appearance for that ceremony. Did you know that Edward James Olmos co-hosted the event. How ironic is that?
Yeah, and Mr Olmos was very upset at her death as everyone else was of course but you could really see it in his face as well as hear him when he talked about her. He was proud of SELENA's accomplishments. The brutality of her death was just senseless. I can see why Mr Olmos was upset when he spoke passionarely about SELENA.
Selena was and is a phenomenal singer, dancer, performer. She deserved the recognition she received. There was no hint of selfish in her, an amazing young woman.
Selena made a huge impact And her music was very popular and when we heard she got murdered I was very sad and felt shocked...When I lived in El Paso Texas she was still popular and I enjoyed her soothing voice
@@saiyongdawn7756 Yeah, the band must have been away because Selena performed every year at the TMAs. Kinda sad that Selena didn't get to perform at the TMA stage one last time. 🥺
She won everything Go Selena and she still is 2018 I had to get her tote from eBay because they were sold out she'll never be forgotten Viva Selena 4 ever 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Yeah I knew from the promo commercial with Suzette that SELENA's tote bags would sell out quickly. I was right. Lol. Anything SELENA goes fast you know that.😉
The goal is not to live forever but to create something that will. ❤️ Selena you are forever loved. Rest In Peace and hopefully I get to meet you someday.🙏
In the movie, Suzette’s character mentions “you are always late Selena”. I feel, after seeing how far she’s always seated, she was always late in real life and all the front seats were taken lol. But with her Success they should have had a reserved seat((:
Same thing. Now days the people that are nomited are right in front. They had the awards with her name and everything🤦♀️she was so humble of course that i dont think she ever complained
At this award show it was said in an interview that a lot of Tejano artist that night said "why even go if Selena is going to win all the nominations" and Jose behar the president of EMI actually went on stage to receive one of her awards because the person that presented the award mistakenly said the winner was Shelly Lares then later said it was Selena the winner and Jose behar said "I had to go up there and receive the award because Selena was crying that how can the do this to the other singer" she really felt bad about it.
I was so drawn to her because I felt like she had so much in common with what my best friends and I wanted in life. It goes to show no matter how different people look outwardly as humans we all have similar goals . I was studying Spanish is school when she died and my teacher recommended using her lyrics as a study guide. She was a big fan of hers.
Maybe she won everything that night because God knew he was taking her home soon after so that the world could remember Selena and everything she had already accomplished in her short life she already did what she was destined to do on earth it was time to go home
They made her walk so much !! She was so Humble that of course didnt complain. . Pero le hubieran tenido una Silla A Enfrente a Ella.especial. love you Forever Selena❤ Nadie le llegaba...she was the Queen 🙌
Missing her still in 2020. We. An only imagine what she would've accomplished by now, including motherhood. She could've also performed at Superbowl & blown everyone away with her music, dancing, humility. RIP
It’s just so heartbreaking isn’t it, you can feel her kindness through the screen you could just tell she was a nice person and in the midst of on her way up. I truly put her in the same category as Beyoncé, Tina, Aaliyah, Britney, Mariah, Pink and of course JLo. Such a tragic sad loss. Rest easy Selena 💜
