@@chanellopezzzz lol I'm ashamed of myself I'm Hispanic and I only heard her main songs on the radio ... but on another note☝️ is it just me or does taylor swift seem to get her style from Selena
@@JackReacts904 This was Selena"s first US hit and she mentioned that in the beginning before she started singing. The beginning always gives me chills because she left us with one of her greatest songs. The lyrics are Like a flower with so much love you gave me, it withered so I'm leaving today. I know how to lose but, ay, ay, ay, how it hurts....whew, simple but beautiful. Hope this helps. :)
She’s one of the few singers who sounded better live that why I always go to her performances because you can hear the power in her voice . Even with all the dancing she was never out of breath
This was her last concert before she passed away and broke the record for the most attendants in the astrodome for 3 straight years! She was so talented 🥺
I can’t believe she was killed so soon after this performance. She was so ahead of her time. She was a true angel. Funny fact: I was at this performance on my moms hip(I was 5 months old😂)
She sold out the astrodome. I remember that because every news outlet in Houston was talking about how she was the first Latino female to do that and the astrodome is HUGE and was entitled The 8th Wonder of the World. It has now closed down but still remains standing.Across the street from that was Six Flags Astroworld and Waterworld was the biggest theme and water park at that time and a lot of singers and bands use to have concerts at six flags but unfortunately the woman who owned the Houston branch wanted to sell it thinking the property it stood on was worth more then the park itself. So closed it and unfortunately didn’t get what she thought she was going to get.The woman was fired.Houstonians was very upset because the astrodome, astroworld and waterworld was tourist attractions and brought the city much money. That particular day Selena was heading the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo Carnival we have here ever year.Selena was a huge star already in the Latino community but was crossing over to English and Latino music but got murdered by her band club president. I was 11 years old when she died. I knew of her but her popularity grew even bigger once she passed,
@@JackReacts904 this song, "Like a Flower" is about a love lost. She was with a guy and they broke up she finds out he has a new love and she wishes him the best but it hurts (aye aye como me duele). She feels that she can never love again because she gave him all the love she had. Their love was like a flower that was given to her, it withered, it died, it hurts. That's the run down of it.
Like the flower is the title Verse1: I know that you have A new love Nevertheless I wish you all the best If in me you didn't find Happiness Perhaps someone else Will give it to you Like the flower (like the flower) With so much love (with so much love) That you gave it to me Shriveled I´m leaving today I know to lose But oh How it hurts me Oh How it hurts me You can't imagine how it hurts To lose your love With your goodbye you took My heart I don't know if it will be able To love again Because I gave you all the love That I could give Like the flower...
That final spin and wave is beautiful, and is almost haunting because that was her last performance before she she left this world. It’s like an angel giving her final goodbye. Thank you for this reaction❤️
Selena is the only Latin and FEMALE artist ever to place 5 consecutive albums is Billboard 200 top Selling albums in the U.S. and UK. This has only been accomplished by Elvis, The Beatles, and Garth Brooks.
The wave to the camera always puts a lump in my throat and my eyes start stinging, I'm just like damn, look at that smile, and she just radiates joy! How can someone take her away from us?? I wonder what other music she would've put out. She's amazing. Thank you for reacting to our queeeeen!
Bro. I love your reactions. How are you the youngest reactor I fallow, but the most articulate & well spoken? Lol. this song is absolutely beautiful. Even more if you know Spanish.
this concert happened only a month before her death. a day before she died she was at an olive garden with her mom and she told her a story about another time when she was at the restaurant and saw an old lady eating by herself, she went to the workers and paid for her meal and asked them to give her one of the cakes they give out on birthdays. she also told her mom she wanted to start a family with her husband. her mom felt so proud of her and told her she loves her and selena said “i love you too mama” she was happy and singing the whole car ride home and that ended up being the last time her mom ever saw or spoke to her💔
This was her third invite to the Houston Astrodome! This is by far her best performance ever I must admit and did her best dance and you can see how SHE shined!
Intro Now I would like to dedicate this song to all of you, because you made this song a success, the first success for us Here in the United States as well in México I hope you remember this song. 😢😢😢😢
Hey homie!!!!!! I appreciate u bro... can u check out her" disco medley " song? It's a fun video. It's from this very same concert. Which also happens to be her last concert before she passed
Jack..it was the last song in her concert that day; also that day, there were 65 thousand fans cheering for her and she broke the record of assistance in the astrodome!!! I watch all your videos, their great...keep it up bro.
saw one person say 65k ppl, that concert was just under 67k (a little bigger) and it was the astrodome's largest crowd to that point. the previous record was also set by her in 1994. she broke her own record for that stadium. saddest thing here was the end, she says "see you all again, very soon." she would be killed less than four weeks later, two and a half weeks short of her 24th birthday. if she was alive today, i truly believe she would be bigger than all of her contemporaries.
So many people that don't understand Spanish (including me) love her music. It's just something about her that touches you whether you comprehend or not. I love her ❤❤❤
Selena Quintanilla the Reyna of Tex Mex achieved what no one could bring together the Mex with the Chicanos and the gringos in one, her music forever JLO starred in Selena's movie after her death
She sold out the Astrodome three times and broke attendance records, dude she was huge easily would have conquered mainstream, Selena was at the summit of her career. She had carisma, the body the whole deal. She’s Icon legend status.
I was born after Selena passed but as kid, I was always drawn towards her for some reason. Years later and I still love her as a person and music. She has some songs/videos of her as child singing oldies and she has so much soul! Her English performances go hard too! Missing my baby live Disco medley live Oh no ill never fall In love again unreleased I could fall in love mv Sensitivity Selena cover Enamorada de ti 1992 live
Definitely pull up the english translation of the lyrics when reacting to the Spanish songs, to appreciate the depths of emotions of her music. - Como La Flor was a major hit, because it's about losing a love ... 'Like the flower' of so much love you gave me that wilted away, tho i know how to lose; but ooh how it hurts.. (that was the opening) ...then the lyrics get so profound. ☆☆☆
Her last words that concert: Mil abrazos y mil besotes a cada uno de ustedes, cuídense muchísimo y nos vemos muy pronto, hasta luego, chao. Buenas noches!//Thousands of hugs and kisses for each one of you guys, take care of yourselves, see you guys very soon, so long, goodbye. Good night!....It still hurts a lot :c
That was the last show that my queen did, she had a whole life ahead of her, a beautiful person who continues to shine in the most beautiful star, Selena. ❤😔
She would have changed the music world!!!! OMG she was the best....I cried so much when she passed. So ahead of her time! She actually broke the attendance record that night, over 65k people.
Pretty great voice seeing as though she had already sang about 10 songs in a row. That was her last song of the night and she still sounds amazing. Queen 👑
It's funny how ones watching love to see ones like you react to someone else they know and love and who they grew up with. It's a whole other world out here btw I'm from Corpus Christi , TX born and raised I'll lyk what other videos are great.
@jack reacts In case you didn’t know but Selena didn’t speak Spanish at all. She learned it phonetically, before her death she was still learning how to speak Spanish. Just an FYI, let me know if you want to know more, been a fan of hers since 1993.
the corus translate: like the flower-como la flor with so much love-con tanto amor that you gave me-me diste tu it withered away-se marchito i leave today-me marcho hoy i now know how to lose-yo se perder but oh how it hurts me-pero hay como me duele
I'm Samoan, and growing up in the Samoan Christian Community, I would go to many different Churches' "Family Nights"...No joke, EVERY Samoan Live Band (which are mostly All-Male) has this as a guaranteed staple in their Set List...Seriously, I was born in '88, and every time there's a Samoan Live Band, this song will be played...So for anyone who attend any type of Samoan "Gathering", do not be shocked to hear this song.
You should react to her English songs: - “A Boy Like That” - “Captive Heart” - “Where Did The Feeling Go” - “I Could Fall In Love” - “Dreaming Of You” - “I’m Getting Used To You” - And Thank you for really react, listen, pause the video and then give your opinions, people are always “reacting” but talking through the whole video.
I hope you can find other videos of her that you can react to because I love your reactions to Selena. You’re very articulate for being so young. This was about 65,000 people and about a month before she was killed. Thank you for keeping her memory alive.
Didn't matter what your ethnicity was if your from Texas you knew who Selena was...I don't know Spanish nor am i latino she just had a beautiful voice and she is just gorgeous!!!
Como la Flor means Like the Flower. It’s actually a sad song in my opinion, Here’s the link to the English translation to understand what’s she’s saying ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nB43HwBpHv0.html
If you haven't watched the 'Selena' movie starring Jennifer Lopez you should. It gives you a bit of the bands history. It's a family band with her sister Suzette, brother AB, Father Abraham, and Mother Marcella, and later her husband Chris. SELENA grew up singing English songs bc she didn't know Spanish. It wasn't til she was older she started singing in Spanish. Her Father helped teach SELENA on how to speak Spanish. Her husband Chris (Lead guitarist) didn't speak Spanish at the time either but he eventually did learn how to. Btw, you should do some Reactions on some of Chris's music. His Resurrection Album is crazy good. He had dedicated it in honor of SELENA. Thanks so much. Stay safe.💝😘🎈
Too make it even more impactful too how huge she was (: She was at least too me and probably many many many others she was The Latin Female Version of Micheal Jackson Period (:
She would've been a damn ICON on like Janet Jackson level if she wasn't taken from us. She's still an Icon but thinking about what could've been makes me sad and absolutely pissed.
I don't understand most of what she's singing, but I can still sing a lot of her songs...I memorized the words, just not the meanings 😂 She's just that good and I listen to her work all the time! I'm from Texas too, and you wouldn't believe how her death affected our state (and everyone else). I wasn't around when John Lennon was killed, but I imagine it affected people the same way.
