Even George Bush who was the Governor of Texas at time knew of her and paid tribute to her after her death. Alot of Latinos respected him for that and in both of his elections a big chunk of them voted for him.
Yes. We have only so much of her that exists, and the pain of hearing the recorded tracks from Dreaming of You is both devastating and downright enraging.
I am a white woman in my 60's. The loss of this beautiful, talented young woman on the verge of becoming one of America's singing sweethearts makes me cry. I would have loved to see Selena open the Grammy's.
She was a very humble person. Very kindhearted and did a lot for fundraising for Women in crisis, AIDS awareness, children with disabilities. She was strong believer in marriage before sex. So sad that these young women of today exploit themselves.
She was there and won a latin category Grammy in 1994. She saw Whitney perform and she won an actual Grammy. It's prior to latin Grammy. She won an actual Grammy for her live album She did perform though.n
Like she already very much was at all the latin music award shows she was attendance to, she was dominating them all. It really would've been nice to see how far she would've & was going to stretch in the English market as timelessly beautiful as the few tracks she successfully did record in English are.
She did her best. Danced in high heells, as you said, controlled her breathing and perfectly sang all her songs. During the concert she never stopped to drink some water and she didn't use a monitor in her hears to listen the music. She was a complete artist! ❤
My Dad did the audio engineering for this concert. 😭 I was too young .. Dad said.. I was 10.. he wouldn’t let me go. I’m a Greek, Italian and Irish. I married a Mexican. Proud of it.. lol.
I love that even after all these years there’s still people discovering and falling in love with her music and with her ❤️ she left such an amazing legacy thru her songs.
She's only 23 here. Her dream of becoming a crossover superstar was finally coming true and this was just the beginning of it. She was in the middle of recording her English album, working with some of the best producers. She even had a crossover tour planned for later in 95. We have no idea how big she would've become 😭😔
When she sang "so let's dance, the last dance" I got a bit emotional. I am Puerto Rican and I completely understand how proud Mexicans are since she is Mexican-American. But she truly was a representation & a voice for the entire hispanic community. She was my everything when I was a little girl. I have a ton of home videos of me dressing in outfits that look similar to hers and I would have my older sister do my makeup like hers and my hair.. I would dance and sing her songs for hours!! She was such an incredible talent. I miss her & always wonder where she would be today, if she was still alive. Probably stealing every award and putting on amazing stadium tour shows. Rest in peace, angel. 😭💜
She would have been a mother to great children just like her and also a wonderful wife to Chris Perez the love of her life most importantly she would have her own personal happiness in addition to making the world happy enjoying her creativity and beautiful music and excellent engaging entertainment for those who were blessed to see her perform in person and also eventually women all over would have been flaunting her clothing line and shopping her boutique :)♡wish she was still here! She was real not like the fakes we see today . Too much apathy too much twerking, cattiness over all in reality TV instead of true talent . However the Hispanic community still has amazing artists. I was speaking of America in general. Selena was magical we don't see that passion much in our celebrities anymore plus she would have been an empowering voice for the hispanic community and people of color against this racist hateful leader we currently have now . Imagine that she would have taken action protested shamed him for separating families maybe even worked herself to help them reunite etc devote fund raiser etc she wouldn't have been silent I assure you that. She loved her fans and people in general. The way she performed she was interested in making everyone happy she would not stand for the suffering going on these days. We need her here but now it's got so ridiculously bad we need Jesus at this point. She would have been an amazing advocate and representative . She would not have been silent that's for sure. 😢
Can we just appreciate the fact that it's been over 25 years since she passed and he legend and presence just keeps growing. Selena will never die in the hearts of her fans.
The best reaction to Selena’s disco medley ever. It’s pretty amazing what she could do on stage. Girl could sing, dance and much more. A complete artist. 💜
@@Nallelyjaram there aren't very many artist today or period that sound better live than their CD studio version of the songs. Not saying there arent because I can name some others, they are up there on a level not very many can touch. You know who they are 😊👍🏼. Anyway Selena is something very rare..unique. I've yet to this day seen another one like her. Such talent she has. Poor girl R.I.P. 🙏🏼😔❤
She is deeply missed, even thru the years is unbelievable how much she has inspired. It was a great lose. You will never get tired of listen to her music time and time again.
She made me love Tejano and other Mexican Music - I was living in Texas as she was coming up, and yet sadly never saw her live, such a tragic loss to the world when she was murdered, I still listen to her to this day. her style and music are timeless.
I know shes Mexican but the entire World loved her. I was a child when she died and let me tell you, there was not a school talent show in Puerto Rico that didn't have little girls singing to selena.
SHARIS / She was American by both being born in Lake Jackson, Texas but also because her father Abraham was American (born in Corpus Christi, Texas). Her roots were Mexican but she was American and is greatly missed.
@@planojag595 wait there a lil bit,not only people from usa is an american,in the american continent,de Have 35 countries ,so STOP calling american only to the people from usa. .i.
Coming from a Gringo and grown man and musician as myself who only recently happened onto the genius of Queen Selena I have to honestly say this performance has brought me to tears, hard tears. So much life, so much talent, so much in her future, tears man, literal tears for this AMERICAN queen! What a treasure she will always be to this land.
@@cesarcueto1995 well she still couldve been killed in a different place if Yolanda wanted to kill Selena no matter where and when. Yolanda would just try to lure her somewhere else or look for her if Selena kept refusing to visit her
Years back I would say “Selena is a hidden American gem. If you knew about her, you knew.” I’m happy to see people acknowledge her more & giving her the credit she deserves.
She died almost a month after this performance. As I sit here with tears in my eyes I realize when she died I stopped listening to Tejano style music. Thank you for reminding me how wonderful she was. Taking me back is bitter sweet I love it.
@@hollydogandkitters Yes, she was. I'm just sorry her family let that psycho into their circle. Shelly Lares dodged a bullet, literally thanks to her Dad who turned that nut away.
Years ago, I was in a very large Houston, TX thrift store when her song "I Could Fall n Love" came on the PA system. The place went dead silent and then all the women began singing. An amazing moment.
I LOVE Selena and every time I hear her Music , I always Cry ! And I'm a 70 year old Gringo ! There will never be another like her ! She is the Queen of Tejano Tex-Mex Music Forever !
Black Manta Lol Beyoncé is a good entertainer don’t get me wrong, but she is in no way a natural Superstar like Michael, Freddie, SELENA etc. You’re delusional if you say or think that Beyoncé performs like Selena.
It’s makes me cry just to think her dreams of crossing over to mainstream came true regardless of her recording an English album she crossed boundaries no matter what .
That gets me too. Another part that gets me is when she sings I won’t just lay down and die I will survive when we all know that she laid down in that hotel lobby and died.
Ive always been thinking that after JLo did the movie got what Selenas pretended in that time singing in both languages..she knew that she could be a huge international artist so she took that influence and idea by herself..she already was a good artist but after Selena dies JLo turns international and then global.
Francisco Garcia I hate when people say this.... it’s like if it wasn’t for Jlo y’all bitches would’ve not been having such an iconic movie like Jlo did to play Selena. I’m sure Jlo would’ve gotten her way to Hollywood... she’s a fashion icon.
this was her last televised concert, not her last concert. she had a few more concerts after this one, one of them was just days before she was murdered
I still get goosebumps from her. Her voice, beauty, music, everything. RIP queen. I grew up listening to her my whole childhood. She passed away when I was a little girl and my family didn't tell me because they knew it would be hard for me to understand. It wasn't till I decided to do a school project on her when I was in middle school I found out she had died. I literally sat there in my room sobbing for hours man.
9:36 just made me cry. I was probably 15 or 16 when she died. This woman was simply a light radiating and sharing it with us all. Without Selena there wouldnt have been a Jlo
Same. I was 14 when she died. Remember it like it was yesterday. 3 came home.from school and found out. I cried for hours. I was absolutely shocked and crushed. Still can't believe it was 25 years ago that she passed. It seems so unfair. But the gift she left us, couldn't be better. She will live on. She is gone, but definitely not forgotten. R.I.P Queen. See ya soon.
Yup! I've always said it too..some people don't like to hear it but so TRUE!... Selena paved the way for J-Lo. J Lo simply lived the rest of Selena's life ongoing after her death
She was one of the best....but not the only one.. Lets not forget there were people like Pedro infante, Juan gabriel, Antonio aguilar, and so on. In my opinion she fits with one of the best singers and she was loved like all of them as well.
The most humble person ever so so so heartbreaking to know that this was her last concert and tragically killed a month after this 😞 the world lost a beautiful soul 😢
I get tears every time I see this video. I get chills when I hear her sing. You do feel like she’s still alive. Then the reality hits that she’s gone. So tragic! Thank you for showing us what we feel every time we hear her. I don’t think we will ever stop getting the same reaction every time. RIP 💕
I always giggle at 2 things in this music video. 1. That she straight up walked up there with a bandage on her finger 😅 2. In one of the turns she does, her earring falls and she takes the other one off. Later, you see her doing her dancing move and steps on one 🤣🤣🤣🤣 She was just the best ever!!!! She will forever be missed. 🙏🏼
I’m Mexican/American as well . Grew up in The 90s. My parents got to see her perform at a small venue. Here in Michigan! I’m extremely jealous. I think I speak for all Mexican Americans and everyone that comes across her music when I say , that we so proud of her. She is beloved . I can’t help but think how brilliant she could have been performing all her hits at the Supper bowl halftime show ! she’s is my favorite performer of all time . Rest in peace SELENA 🙏🏼🕊️
She passed away 24 years ago. Why am I still in tears today? Great reaction video. If you watch this video, You can see how she influenced a lot of today's biggest pop stars. I can totally see where stars such as Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello and Demi Lovato got their influence from. ❤❤
In the last 2 days I have watched this reaction like 5 times. You are great, I watch you from Guatemala and think your reactions and channel are amazing. Great work friend, keep ´em coming
The Astrodome was HUGE. It was a sad day when it closed. So many great things happened in that building. My God, George Strait made his debut on that stage.
I can’t help it every time I hear her sing On The Radio n hit that high note I lose it n I start to cry everytime . Know matter how many times I hear it. SELENA your missed n loved everyday.
