@@HamishBrown3 this sounds literally nothing like metallica in the slightest if anything its more like exodus or overkill but definitely with their own added style
Sy Borg they had to have taken influence from him. Varying styles of music, amount of albums in a short time, they have their own conceptual continuity-type thing with the Gizzverse...
Generally I’m not into thrash metal, yet here I am, absolutely fucking loving this. My favourite album of the year by a wide margin. This is what happens when band’s experiment, when bands use their skills in one genre to merge with another. You get something magical. Is it the best thrash metal out there? Maybe not, but I’m not a thrash metal guy, so I don’t know what is and isn’t good. But this? This I fuckin’ adore.
I entered my first mosh pit during this song at the end of the 2019 show in Philly, It was fucking insane. There were some chill hippie lookin' dudes telling everyone to be safe too, I love this fan base so much.
Mate i will never forget being at this concert and watching this middle aged group just casually sipping beers in the mosh like they were at some chill blues festival. It only become funnier (and a hell of a lot tragic) when THIS song started up, the mosh went rowdy and they were caught in the storm. It was such a waste of tinnies, but then again I did warn the poor sods!! Best BDAY ever!!!!!
@@nhlshstr I don't know, the two first albums are speed thrash for sure, and in killing technology, Dimension Hatros and nothingface they are more near to a thrash/prog sound (well they did the "Astronomy domine" cover for the album NF). The psychedelic thing comes in the outer limits, well, they made a more hard Rock/heavy/prog metal sound oriented too, but they stopped making thrash until Katorz, infini...(well they still do prog/thrash now a days without piggy for obvious reasons, R. I. P hero). We can argue about it and it's cool to have a discussion like this, but in my opinion (and I respect yours) Voivod are more prog/thrash band than psych/thrash.
How you were able to stand there and hold the camera up perfectly without absolutely losing your shit is beyond me but I commend you deeply for it. You have done a service for mankind.
It looks better, sounds better, and one drummer can hold the rhythm down while the other drummer can do all the fills,as well as playing in unison...2 drummers just look cooler.
