@@goodmornindreamer It is!! I don’t know how people do it either! Thank you!! I feel like there are a lot of self-pub books that have much more unique ideas. 💕
@@Maeve_Ever_Books same!! I'd love to just ask them for tips and tricks!! Completely agree! It's very refreshing to ready different stories that don't feel like the theme has been overdone
I'm glad you were able to get to so many indie books in a month. I need to change that, maybe I'll do the same thing of one indie book a month, that sounds reasonable. And I'm the same with vlogs, I can barely do the regular videos lol Great thing you did there with the description box! I'll start doing the same:)
@@fedebooks Me too! And I’m excited to read more in the future!! I don’t know how people make vlogs look so easy! Thank you! I want to do that more regularly.
Thanks for the shoutout, & for another very engaging & enjoyable video. I really like how you review, in such a considered way, so many indie/self-published books. It's very generous & inclusive. You have a very unique BookTube channel, & one I'm gunna greatly enjoy following into the future - thank you.
Great job Maeve... I'm glad you let me tag along on this little journey. I happen to find Bob's Saucer Repair thanks to this event. :) The VLOG life is hard... I did a spoof on it in the video where I picked up my Louis LAmour books... I did it as a joke but no way I would want to do it for real... way to much time req'd.
@@FacelessBookReviews Thank you! I’m pretty proud of the amount of books I got to this month and I’m glad you participated!! Yeah, vlogging is definitely a thing in my past now. 😅
I think you did great! I didn’t read any self pub books, but they are more on my radar now because of you. I get the feeling of wanting to do more, but be proud of all you did do and trying a new video format and learning things as you did! Even if that was to realize that it wasn’t your style. The Cult books sounds too scary for me, but intriguing all the same! 😊
@@ellenmadebookclub Thank you so much!! You’re right, I did do a lot this month with trying new things and learning what works for me. And yes, The Cult of Carmine was not my type of horror. I’m still on the hunt to find what my type of horror is. 😅
@@Maeve_Ever_Books That's all anyone could ask for! 😊 I read close to no horror at all, but the only one I can think of I did enjoy, and that was Marina by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. I'm not sure what that would be classified as, but I would say it's a good story with horror elements to it. And I love his writing. Do with that what you will! :D
Beautiful cover for The Birds and the Beasts! I really like what you’re doing for the self and indie pubs as well. Picked up a little book of Edgar Allen Poe poems since we talked a little about poetry! Read the first couple and really enjoyed it, thinking about making a series where I read a poem, give my thoughts/what I think it’s about, and then read a summary of the poem. Thank you for the shout out, I really appreciate it! Not sure what your schedule is looking like but if you are interested in doing a buddy read, let me know!
@@Dillon__Morris It is a beautiful cover!! I think she did it herself but, I’ll have to ask her. I LOVE Poe!! Which ones did you read?? I’d love to do a buddy read!
Overwhelmed Maeve: I'm just here for the hairstyles. The Cult of Carmine: I thought that cover looked familiar and yes I punted on the indie prompt. 129 followers!
@@Tetsujin-28 I’m thinking of doing a Q&A once I hit 150 subs. I’m guessing I’ll get there around December or January so it’ll be perfect going into the new year.
Heck yes!!! Love the indie/self-pub reads! I just finished Chains of Prophecy by Jason P. Crawford. It’s an indie urban fantasy and I did my review of it with him so that way I could get his reactions and we could ask each other questions. It was great! That video should post this coming Tuesday! Aaaaaaaand I’m currently reading a self-published horror Room of Cloth by R. H. Grund. I will also review the book with him and that should come out on Halloween. I subbed very quickly! I look forward to more great content!!
@@Curious-Cat I go to a lot of self-pub/indie-pub events(that I find on Instagram) and I also ask the bookstores I go to if they have any self or indie pub books they’re selling and they often are but, they almost never advertise that they are. You literally have to ask.
@@Maeve_Ever_Books Sorry Maeve... I tried to protect you from his channel but I've failed... Kidding Kevin is a great guy we just have to pretend we don't like each other... people will start to talk if we don't. LOL
Read one indie book last month and have a second on my tbr for this month. I was surprised by the amount of freedom self publishing allows the author. a few more self published books Ive been meaning to read so knocking one out every month is good way to get this done. (Idea stolen)
@@HideAndRead Please steal all my good ideas!! I’d love that! I’d also love to hear about the indie book you read and what you’re wanting to read in the future!
@@Maeve_Ever_BooksLast month I read and reviewed HeadHunters by Luis Paredes. This Month I'm reading a western by a fellow booktuber, Thomas Mcnulty. 📚📚📚
