In this weeks video we announce our big decision regarding our house and discuss our considerations in what we have decided to do, after thinking about sale, rent or Air BnB.
Having decided to sell we set about getting the house ready to be on the market doing some general tidying, sanding and painting.
However, we do manage a short stay at a lovely Thames-side campsite which was great value for money at £13 pn and had lots of countryside dog walking from the pitch.
We also announce the winner of the competition for a free Tractive tracker.

This is episode 130 in a series of videos cataloguing our post retirement adventures. We are Kath and Sue and we are travelling the UK with our two dogs Archie and Fudge and living full time in our Burstner Elegance Motorhome. We have given up conventional living for a new van-life, enjoying the freedom of the road and plenty of time outdoors taking in the beautiful countryside the UK has to offer.

Great decision I’m sure you won’t regret it ! I know we felt a real sense of freedom when we sold despite everyone saying rent it out ! We loved our house but actually we were ready for our next adventure 🎉😂

Now, ladies, we need to talk about your headlines!!! You gave me heart palpitations and a hard, cold sweat when I read your banner about selling up. What no more of my weekly medicine that is Motorohome Mum's? You are selling the van and giving up van life? But no, you are selling your house instead? Seems like a good move after listening to your reasoning, Sue, I am with you on this. Please consider in future the feelings, health, and mental well-being of your devoted subscribers who cannot envisage life without your weekly adventures. I know it's far too late, but I'm slow catching up with your videos, but from what I saw going into that skip, nearly everything could have been given away on freecycle! We only did one car tip run from our house before going fulltime, and I was a hoarder. Sold, charity, and freecycled everything.

You’re right. We paid extra for mixed contents as the skip company sort the contents to recycle what’s possible and some items are prohibited for the skip. We found that lots of charity shops were unable to take items, but we have managed to sell and giveaway lots of items for collection. We are slightly limited for transport so not always possible to do multiple charity runs. 🙏🤗🚌❤️

I think you've done the right thing. I retire next year, and have always said I would sell up, go touring until I didn't want to anymore. Then I'd 'settle' down. Good luck with the sale.

What a beautiful site that was. It must have been so difficult to come to such a big decision to sell the house, I hope it all proceeds smoothly and doesn’t take too long. Personally, I think it’s a great decision, one less thing to worry about when you’re not there. Oh!!! And thank you for the #Tractive, I’m in shock, I never win anything, over the moon. 🎉

Thank you. Yes it was a huge decision but we did take our time and think it’s right for us. Will hopefully be cash buyers at sometime in the future. Well done on winning tractive. Will get it sorted so you can have that peace of mind and some fun with the league table. 🥂🤗🚌❤️

Good luck to you both, the way the world is you have to make the most of each day and each moment. A quick question if I may, how do you find driving your integral around small country lanes? We have a small French pop-up camper which we love as we can pretty much go anywhere but having acquired a second large dog we’ve been thinking as to whether we should, to step-up to a larger van. Happy trails from a Brexile in France!

Thank you. You’re right. We must make the most of what we have. Re the size; haven’t had too many issues, although some tight squeezes at times so far mostly in Cornwall. Most roads are fine as long as there are passing places. There are a couple of routes on the NC500 where I think we would look for an alternative but not many. Otherwise no problems. Bigger issue is parking but we mostly do rural and try to use big supermarkets when we shop, so even that’s been ok. Happy travels. 🤗🙏🚌❤️
