Best advice I can give you. Dare to do something different, outside of your comfort zone. There's 1000+ YT channels that all do basic bolt ons. Have a regular upload schedule as well, peeked at your channel and uploads seem to be all over the place. Have a schedule and stick with it. Consistency is key. Interact with your subscribers too, their time is just as important as yours. Set aside a half hour or so to respond to people's comments. People are watching you so you've got some interest so interact with them. And your more than capable of doing a lot of the work yourself, just have to be motivated to learn how to do it. I can guarantee that the new STI will have issued in the first year, coming from someone who's had 20+ Subarus hold off a year or 2 if you actually want one. Best of luck Ryan. Open to any questions you might have!
Dude I’m scrolling through his comments and listening to him give up...and it looks that way 4 months later...and I come across this comment. Everything you say in this comment is what you do and look at your growth over the last 6 months alone. Your work ethic and will for what you love is inspiring for all not just youtubers... enough of my rant! Looking forward to your next vid!!
Smeedia is right. Break your comfort zone and jump past the bolt ons. I really ought to start a RU-vid channel. My personal 2018 wrx build is breaking all the rules. I have a built block with custom xbeam rods from the BRZ, pistons, gsc beehive springs and a loose bottom end balanced for 8k RPMs. My Turbo setup is custom with a twin scroll gtx3076r gen2, EWGs, turbosmart raceport V BOV. Radium fuel cell 2 walbro 450s, return style fuel system. Nostrum high pressure fuel pump. Flex fuel without limitation and the list goes on. If you focus on bolt ons like so many due you'll flat out run out of fun and ideas
Instead of focusing in amount of subs you could gain, focus more in bringing different type of content that's entertaining. Example racing different cars, hitting the track, collabing with others, etc.
Agreed.. dont step out the comfort zone just to make more subs.. taking on an even bigger payment is sometimes not worth it at the end. He should try out racing the car or going to meets and doing collabs something more entertaining 🤔
There's no increase in views because everyone has done the same things to the wrx. Yet to find a channel that has built up a wrx to crazy power. Everyone sitting on fbo so gets old.
Bruh make more content WE WILL WATCH. You are helping all of us that are just getting into the subi scene. Appreciate you alot man. Upload something please..
Brz manifold, bigger turbo, build your engine, track your car, make a 9 sec wrx etc...so much you can do...if ur looking for subs you’d be one of the first to ever do that...
You should race and review other peoples cars, like like you used to do. I enjoy your content, but clearly see you're at a dead stop on what to do next.
Its taken me 3 days to think this over and this is my response. I love being involved in this build and I love the content! But why build a car to this extent and consider getting rid of it before you actually get to enjoy it? Id say keep it and take the build to the next level. Your opinion matters before anyone else 👍
I enjoy your content so I'll share my opinion to help out. When you talk about options to continue the build you mention 1. crazy engine 2. bags 3. widebody and I agree with you that none of these bring in nearly as much as they take out. These mods are super flashy and over the top, which is why they get loads of mainstream attention. But a car is so much more than just these three things...so much more. A lot of enthusiasts would appreciate installs and reviews on serious mods like chassis bracing, sway bars, better suspension, roll cages, harnesses, better brakes (since you have more power), weight reduction (lighter body panels or more extreme if you want) and maybe even change some existing things up like wheels with different tires. UEL and simple fender flares would be cool too. You could also dive into new activities like track days, drag racing and so on. On the other hand, you mention you still make payments on this car. It wouldn't make sense financially to get rid of this car on so much loss only to pick up a more expensive car and make higher payments for another eternity. Especially when the aftermarket is going to be slow for a while when it first comes out. This is your hobby so it all comes down to you, we're all just making assumption based on what you're telling us. Best of luck, keep us posted!
Now I know why wrx owner end up selling because they’re not afford to the next level of modifications on engine… never seen on you tube wrx owner having modified FA20DIT…
You can widebody the wrx man. Get a Copart car and fix it up turn it into a drag race car (Audi tt?) lol. Collab with other RU-vidrs. Heck get back into a gen coupe with a v6 and get a turbo kit for it.
You are great at making content. You don’t need a new car to draw in more subs, just need new ideas.. I enjoy watching ya vids I’m a proud owner of a 15 STI myself
The subie videos are fun to watch, but instead of getting rid of the reason you’re known today you should’ve not get the benz and get the 2022 sti, and for now I would say better content, keep the subie though.
maybe keep the wrx and keep pushing mods, and attend events? think modding and going further with the wrx is a better content for those who have the wrx, not everyone can afford the sti now or even in 2022. i feel the wrx content will keep those who are seeking motivation and guidance
Bro your car is perfect man. Maybe spice it up and go to car meets and show around the meet. There's always action and can draw different viewers. There's no need to blow another 10k on another car. As long as you feel happy bro.
I think it’s time for the upgrade. You’ll be one of the first Subaru youtubers with the new STi, and you’ll make killer content with it! Plus they took an FA24 motor and put it in a crosstrek and made 500 to the wheels... so this motor might be able to handle 600+ which would be AMAZING.
what about doing other vehicle builds? Friends, etc, meet other RU-vidrs, interview them Cars and coffee, track days of other cars, or another random sport, MTB, going to the range, weekend trip, product reviews, auto detailing recommendations...
Definitely don’t give up brother... do what makes you happy man. God bless you sending you positive vibes and thoughts always push forward never lose hope...
You can’t do that now that the STi is officially canceled (well technically not canceled, just an electric car). Out of curiosity, did you ever have problems with the WRX transmission? People are saying it’s a weak point. I’m tempted to get an STi, as I live in a state that snows, and a Camaro is dangerous in bad conditions.
Make t shirts, take the wrx to a track (cars don’t have to be super fast to track them, there’s a n/a class ), vlog car meets, go on cruises, canyon runs, attend car shows from around the country, or build maybe like a cheap trashed legacy....
I was also thinking of trading in my 19 STI for a next gen STI, but I think that waiting the new car out even longer to see how it shakes out (issues and such) makes sense. It would blow to buy a next gen and then have nothing but issues because of first year model run. That is just my .02 though. Playing devils advocate here lol, but go full send on the WRX and don't look back haha. Either way hope you enjoy whatever route you go. Keep after it man.
how about in the mean time make some vids on the benz. Just some small simple mods like cosmetic stuff just to fill in the gap that takes you to decide. I know you say its a daily. But no one ever said you can't mod your daily lol
Bro tbh don’t sell the car just enjoy what ur doing when people see that ur being genuine you’ll gain more people love seeing people living their dreams
Keep pushing the limits! The new STI engine could have crazy potential, either way bro just keep going with the channel. The journey has been awesome so far.
To me, I'd say keep the WRX. Like others pointed out, there isn't gonna be a lot of mods and parts available for the next generation STi at release anyways, and it'll take a few months. I mean, you could buy the next generation STi at release to get a heads start in a sense, but there's very limited ideas for videos IMO.
Sell the car and get a platform where the engine doesn't have to b built in order to get big power out of it aka a subaru will never b ur answer for what u do on RU-vid. At some point the subaru will always have to have a built engine... get a DIFFERENT platform, is ur best bet. If we are being realistic
Feel that heavy, im at the end of my build, I have almost his exact setup with dual waste gate headers, At 385whp and 370 torque on E and 323whp on pump. I just granny it and occasionally will rip it up on nice days. Not my daily also so thats always good, but yeah im at the point where im just gunna go forged internals for peace of mind and widebody and bags lol
@@RiverSanders definitely agree with the move to the STI. I think a ton of people would want to have a solid channel with mods for the new STI. You'd definitely be one of the first with a mod channel for the new STI. It'd be soooo dope!
Overthinking it bro. You have 4 cars and a bike (which is awesome) you want to continue RU-vid love making vids/want to keep the wrx (love driving it, it’s your baby) I get it. Keeping an all season car in the garage during the winter is basically deemed as a show car/weekend car now by those standards. Here’s an idea to keep the car and RU-vid and new Sti. Take a break from RU-vid, enjoy the wrx from time to time, continue to daily the benz. When the time is right, trade in the Benz and one other car you have. Boom done. Come back strong, you have sponsors to work things out. All the big ‘RU-vidrs’ usually keep their first build, look at Dustin started with the FA, still has it. Even Devin keeps his builds. All I’m saying is you have time to think about it.
Trade it in, they’ve been testing the engine out on the Ascent, and the platform on the wrx any consumer to buy that suv right now luckily gets an over engineered engine. but it’ll be worth the trade, trading mine in when it’s out. The car will be ready when its released that’s why there’s no 2021 sti
If working 60 hours a week and your happy with your build why do it again. Hit the track video, vlog about it as sparetime. But if there's other things you would want to do with a build and it makes you happy sell the wrx and go with a fresh 2022 sti build. Don't let us decide, do you man. And on a side note I just started my 2017 wrx build, but started looking at a 2.5 rs sti swap. I have a problem.
Sell it... keep going forward...ever changing bro...Keeps things interesting. Maybe look into DYC, dip your car painting. Very cool stuff. Hope you don’t quit bro keep moving forward. That’s the onlyway to cross the bridge you know...
This is sad though. You’re just in a block.. just take a break. Try to think about where you stand. Right down pros and cons of each idea. Ultimately do what you want. What’s best for Ryan? I don’t want you to take such a long break and wait for the sti. Maybe it’s what you need.
Ryan's Random RideZ Hi man ,how about if you wrap the car a different color and help some people out on how to dyi our wrxs.I would love to see that,I always wanted to wrap my wrx but I know its a pain in the ass good luck bud.
New sti is cool but another payment to it is a back to square 1 type a thing imo. You have a fulltime job and youtube is not 1 of them so careless of subs or views, just do what makes you feel good, no need to stress. I say just keep the car bro, and as for content wise do callab other youtuber that has a subaru, be at a local car meets, car shows, sponsorship, you going on vacay stuff like that hell u can do light mod on the benz too. There are countless things u can do.
Get the sti but keep the wrx is your channels flagship car. It'll cost you but you will keep everyone subbed now while gaining instead of losing a few to gain alot.
Either about the passion or subs, not the first video that you said you were done bud. You’ll regret selling a car you put some much into. Get a jdm classic then. You can get one cheap and you can learn as you go. Easy to work on and a lot of fun. Your views will learn in the process
Shoulda kept the gen to be honest u were one of the bigger channels and not many were out at the time so if you woulda been more patient it woulda probably been bigger than it is now. Just my op. Ya there wasn’t a lot more aside from boost to do but little aesthetics and even driving vlogs etc woulda probably been a lot and enjoyable for the gen community.also it would help to have consistency stop modding and selling. Subs won’t stay or grow if they join cause they like it and then u sell it they’ll see that.
Bro don’t sell your car. Buy the new car and use it to grow your channel and seeing that your channel is of decent size ask for sponsors to help promote there products for the new platform of STI
man i say go balls out and get the new sti if you want to continue doing youtube. growing pains suck but sometimes they have to happen. also if the rumors are true the new sti will have almost as much power as the wrx stock.
Dude the WRX platform is over saturated. Channel won’t grow from that. New BRZ and WRX/STI coming. Everybody going to be trying to grab one for their channels. Mad growth
Keep it bro don’t sell it it’s hard to lose something you build and starting all over again bro...my advice is just to buy a new car something different bro...
Since I got my 17' WRX as a "Family" car, my wife isn't a fan of it. I started to put a lot of my love into it. Up until this point, I always think if I will have to sell it one day and how much work I need to do to turn it back to stock is a PAIN!!... I sell everything as it would lose a lot of stupid money...., not worth it! I would keep it if possible and start a project car on the side instead. The Subie means sth to me or us. It is a learning process for me. You always have one car to start with your modding journey. This WRX is it. I always thought of driving underdog cars to have better stories to tell than to drive an in-your-face racing car. IG @greensoundroom
Builds done when you feel like it’s built the way you want it. I see how you’re feeling though. Just video when you do something or car shows. Or drives for fun. Could buy an older car if sort but not sure if that’ll be fun for you or good content. Not sure. You feel stuck. I’d sell your other cars. Pay this off. This daily. Buy a sti. If that’s the new daily. Figure out how to sell the wrx.
I mean would it even be worth selling at this point? Unless you can sell it private to someone that want your build for more then it’s worth (car value) plus mods. Anyways something to think about.
