I think quality is more important than quantity as you mentioned. if I consider myself as buyer , I would like to buy quality one...I saw many modelers who is producing like machine in turbosquid and cgt . But their reviews were few and their models' quality was not good at all.

Thanks for taking the time to produce this. Good tip on the saturation market bracket. How does posting an image on Pinterest or Instagram generate an audience? Are they just randomly discovered if someone types in a search term?
@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline 4 года назад
Hi, Insta and Pinterest is not as random as you think, remember, you can search specific content through hastags and pins, When i look at my Blender Market traffic link analysis, the quantity of traffic from these to sites can not be ignored. Both platforms can be used in a search engine type way, that does not mean that, yes, there are a large portion of people who just thumb scroll it, but there is a large portion of the 3d audience who use it intentionally.

What do you thing about built my own wordpress/woocomerce online market and sell 3d models by myself ?
@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline 3 года назад
Hi, thanks for the question, actually I don't know if im the best person to answer this - i only sell on existing platfrms a.t.m. my reason is that that is where the people are already in terms of customer base but if you can successfully pull it of it stands to reason that you will not lose a percentage to royalty, but rather hosting, and then still tax which is irrespective of the platform. If anyone else is successful in selling from a personal site please add a comment here

Do you sell the ownership? Example in 3d printing i sell, Physical print. $ 100. Stl or picture file. $ 1. Thing ownership. $100,000.
@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline 2 года назад
I think backpaddle a tap bit on this one, good question though. I think with regards to me selling models online, the benifit is not only or entirely cash, in fact, the larger benifit to me at least is the monthly job offers i get from people who view my content. Selling them online is just a means to this end HOEVER, i think the term should be lisence, not sell. I do not sell ownership (expecpt in one instance where the offer was so good it would just have been foolish to not sell it). I like to keep ownership generally. Your instance though is different though, the whole point of a print is a physical object. Let me know if i am making sense or am talking nonsense?
@WillofNewZealand
@WillofNewZealand 2 года назад
@@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline i started off selling the actual physical prints. Sometimes i still do that. Then i moved to sell the stl per copy. Then i moved to selling the ownerships. Mostly cause its the most valuble. Yeah i enjoy it even tho there are issues. Piracy is a epademic now. It used to be small but now i dread to say the majority but i aint given up. Pirate farms are out of control big time. Selling the ownership is about getting the date of upload to be corrected for a fresh uploaded version of the sold thing in another users name, thats to TRANSFER the ownership. Only cults3d is currently operating for ownership sales. Sites like thingiverse were doing it back when they were operational. Cgtrader has never done it, ive been coaching them a long time but yet to do it. Chinas creality i coached but they bowwed out in the end. Im trying hard to get someone in America to resume business or start to spread the risk of all going to cults3d in France. called MIGRATE. MIGRATE is moving ownership to another site, upload dates get matched by email request. TRANSFER is moving ownership within a site, usually to a new owner after its been sold to them, again upload dates matched by email request. In both csses date of upload is matched back to original. The date of who invented a thing first is critical of course. A SEMI MIGRATE is the new version upload date does not match original, so the genuine ownership really remains with the older original upload that has true old upload date of invention. So im in migrates and transfers mostly. Ive investigated 100% of all migrate claims globally for over 21 months. Only a few semi migrates proven. Always tell me if a migrate or transfer is ever found thanks. Im intrested in what youve learned since your kinda running parallel to me. Even at the same sites. I just made a vid saying we should outlaw the ability to manipulate our things to the top of sesrch rrsults because a second place pirate should never be able to buy or manipulate to appearing above the genuine original license holder. Sort by exact text. Sort by oldest. Oldest wins and Second place is piracy, if both are the same thing. Ive lost things to others and had to take down my upload. Others have had to be taken down when i beat them. Has never mattered what country they are in. Theres been races in the past, like a gold rush. I won many races. Tea earl grey hot. I own it. Oil. Water. Gold. Human. Dentures. Kidney. Ab+ blood. Concrete. Coca cola. Jack daniels. Ice. Wheet seed. Whipped cream. Apple pie. Pizza. Air. Oxygen. Stainless steel. Inconel. Cook. Clean. Dry. Many more. Its supprizing what a printer can do. Its often hard for people to understand how i managed to keep ownership or even get these things to begin with. I got my all clear again this year. No copyright infringments nor any other issues. Pritty friggin cool. My other current hobby is electric unicycle rider. My android friend Mr Data is here to. Neither are printing tho fasinating. Ive enjoyed the vids of yours ive seen so far. Im watching for any info ive not seen before. Im pleased to say youve got skills. I wish you nice success. Be well. From Will and Mr Data :):]

@@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline Its not always about the physical print. Heres some thoughts i csme up with to help me see opertunities. All printers are MY outlets. Even private or commercial ones. All are my chain stores. My vending machines. Corner shops. I dont supply the filament. Always buy genuine filament. I say what my corner shops may sell and for what price. You can see its not all about the print. A file to get a machine to print a liquid is not going to look like the resulting liquid. The feed rate of the print head can be set faster. The print head does not have to move to extrude lots of filament. The max volume of the printer can be exceeded. There are printers i predicted would print atoms. Now there is such printers. I licensed a thing called matter creator, Mass from energy device. I do try go slow as theres enough badly used teck. Just some thoughts to show its not all about the final printed object. Licensing things can be a job on its own. So could looking up licenses. Now the large numbers of files and weak search engines make the job harder. I could spend 24/7 taking down pirates to. Theres no shortage. Theres many real ruthless sharks in the water now sadly. Consuming newbs and taking there things easy when you know how. I know the game but im not that way. Theres crooked inflencers and dodgy sites which is sad to. Some have said in writing to me they want 100% of comunity to loose there value. Scary stuff considering they are working from inside the comunity. So extreme caution is required. Especially around migrates. The sharks are swarming badly there. Anyway its not all physical prints thats just one small part. All those printer companies are making more outlets for me constantly. May they make many more. All printers are mine depending what its doing. All printers are yours.

What about Turbosquid?
@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline 3 года назад
Thank you for asking, here is a quick explanation: Firstly, i want to say well done for them for seeing the gap and possibility in the market. They have helped many creators and modelers eran money from their passion. In fact i used to sell with them and "the3dStudio" years ago. That being said, the reason why i stopped suppporting them is this, i can not morally support anyone who takes more than half of the selling price of a product (excluding their loyalty agreement, but that has other implications). 1. Payout Structure As it stands, then take 60 percent of each sale under standard licence, leaving the creator with only 40 percent. In comparison, with CGT's loyaly structure, i as a creator am profiting 80 percent of each sale, meaning if i sell the same model on both sites for the same price, i will get double the payout if it sells on CGT. 2. Functionality Also, Blendermarket and Artstations pays out 30 percent more than Turbosquid. I limit the number of sites i upload to since i would rather sell a product really well, instead of selling it poorly on 10 sites. This means i make use of CGT's collection function, BM's revenue share, CGT's job board etc. Turbosquid just does not have that functionality and flexibility. 3. Recognition and promotion On BM, Artstation, FN and CGT, there is a very strong focus on the creator, the creators page, name and contactability for colaberation, freelance etc. Turbosquid erases the creator and puts all content under the banner of "Turbosquid" with now way to contact and communicate between creators. In my opinion, a business relationship, to some extent, should work both ways In summary: If i still used them (Turbosquid) i would make more per month than i would right now - and i would support any creator that knowingly makes a conscious decision to sell from their platform. In fact before i took down my content, i made good revenue there (about half of what i make on CGT BM and Artstation) but good revenue still. With CGTbjust being listed as nr37 of the worlds fastest growing companies, and Blender Market enjoying the fruits of a 1.1 million download count in the covid time, i personally just feel that if one takes a wider view than finances only, then opportunity lies elsewhere (i.e not with Turbosquid). Does this help? Let me know please!

Thanks for the information! Can we make living from selling 3D assets online?
@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline 4 года назад
Hi! the question before your question is what is your standard of living? In which country do you reside? Can you afford month to month "salary" fluctuation? Right now, in South Africa, a single young person living in a bachelor flat could survive on what i am earning in 3d sales per month. As a family though, i like the extra income as a side hustle. Also, i do enjoy my day job. You could. OR you could not, depending on a number of other questions - get some pen and paper and do a quick audit of yourself and your circumstance maybe? Hope it helps

Regarding Blender Market -- if I don't use Blender and so can't create a native blender file for a model, is it likely the model won't sell if it is only in FBX or OBJ format?

About two months ago, I started thinking about making money with 3D models. I started making all kinds of google searches and eventually I bumped into your videos. Today I have a clearer picture of what I want, and that is 3D modelling for 3D printing. I started a blog, an instagram account, a facebook page and a youtube channel (which has no videos yet) all of this while investing in education, especially in learning 3D software (blender/zbrush/maya courses in Udemy). I must say, that your insights have been very positive and useful for me. Also I have been taking notes and have a notebook dedicated to 3D entrepreneurship. All of this just to say thanks and please keep posting videos and content because they have been very helpful!
