Tbh Justin’s brand is “I will try anything and will definitely like it” lmfao as long as he makes a marvel tier list every 6 months I’ll still hit him with that yung sub
The other tricky thing about selling out is that the definition can vary from audience to audience. For me, selling out is advertising something you don't believe in or for a company you dislike, but for others it's any advertising in general. I have a former YTer friend who finally got to the point where they could run ads on their channel, and was immediately called a sellout by someone in the comments for doing so.
It's more a problem when an artist or something compromises their artistic vision for money. Having a "content creator" sell out is way different because you can just skip the ads. Get that bag, jwong
Great points! I also think that sponsors would rather work with a spokesperson that isn't an obvious shill or thought of as one. They want potential customers to believe that they are watching earned media and not a commercial. For example if someone like Bafael ran a sponsored ad, you would likely pay attention since he's never done that.
I love when Sajam gets into his fighting games and finances(someone needs to make this a series) it's such and interesting topic fighting games could do so much more even monitorizing. The ads street fighter did and the red bull costumes if handed well could be a very interesting thing.
I just never buy anything Justin advertises. If he's advertising something, that practically guarantees it's awful. Dude really needs some standards for what he plugs. I'm definitely going to Portillo's when I'm in Chicago, though.
2 things. 1. U should get CTC to sponsor u, u shill them and its excellent. 2. Justin made a vid for the C40 controller. I have one, and he aint even put the screws or the dpad module into the controller properly. I felt like he made that vid 10 mins before going to the airport. C40 a great controller tho, this is not an ad.
I dont have a problem w people selling out. You cant sell out unless someone else wants to buy in and community opinions dont pay bills. If some one gets a gig for sone loot and they can eat, unless its some wack gimmicky stuff, get your money
@@blackmechawsome Going through brand deal after brand deal. Having to deal with companies dipping on you, having to deal with companies not being squeaky clean. That kinda thing just tires me out thinking about it.
Sort of related: I will always remember Justin as the guy that pot split the grand finals at Texas Showdown with ChrisG and being super disappointed when they both went all-random on the first round. I never take Justin seriously as a competitor since then. I respect his hustle nowadays since he has to support his family, but I can never distance myself from a guy that feels like a walking advertisement, rather than a top player.
