I think it's really cool how they took what was a bug/exploit and spun it into a genuine feature. That's how you know the devs love their game and the community.
@@verysadboi8517 It only sells it when all spells have been removed, so it would get up and "fight for you" (probably murdering you as a Hisi walks by... seems like a normal day in Noita).
Wand selling reminds me of when the devs decided to nerf the heartbreak bug instead of patching it out entirely. I've always admired that about Noita's design philosophy. Why outright stop people from breaking out of Holy Mountain when you can hire Steve instead, you know? Also, really cool that charmed wands drop when the ghosts despawn now. I don't know how practical wand charming is, but the fact that you straight up lost the wand after use killed any chance of me wanting to try it.
I know these might not be proper "updates", but it feels like it to me. Even these small patches go above and beyond the bar of what I expect from game developers nowadays. It really shows that the people behind Noita care a lot about the game and it's community, I could not be more thankful. I get excited for every patch note from these guys, regardless of how small, and I hope they have great success with any future titles they release. Thank you Noita Devs.
There are times when I struggle to understand what about Noita makes it so engaging but it is things like this that make me think it is just the level of care and attention that the developers have put into it that keeps me coming back
I like this change a lot. In my longer runs, I would leave a LOT of empty wands just floating around in holy mountains, and it probably wasn't great for the save file size. Now, I can just have gold, which is awesome.
I hope we can sell spells too. When I mass strip wands to make sure enemies aren't picking them up I just end up with dozens of spells swimming with the fish.
200 gold per tier seems like possibly a bit much for the earlier tiers, due to that bit mentioned at the end where you can buy wands then destroy them to make a profit; this lets you get any T1 wand costing
Interesting. Infinite gold was fun and OP - but now you have to be careful with empty wands near pheromone - like with noita near poly - it might make vanish what you wanted to hang on to. Turns pheromone a bit into a two edged sword.
Bugfixes. I'm hesitant to say that any actual *content* might be added...but there's a chance. As far as bugfixes: this, the audio memory leak (especially with chainsaws) causing crashes, the FRIEND (toveri) boss being fixed and being the tankiest boi now, runestones properly spawning on item pedestals (previously, only runestones of edges could spawn on pedestals, so the others would be very rare and only found in lucky chests), no more infini-flying by restarting the game while in the air, etc. Lots of fixes, with more on the way. Arvi has expressed interest in possibly doing his own update, though...
What happens when a wand still contains spells, but they are all limited spells which have been expended (say, a bomb wand with no charges left?) IIRC enemies will not pick up empty wands like that. Does it still get sold, is it ignored, what happens?
Hello fury! I have been exploring the sky in noita and I found a very small triangle island with an eye sighn on it, Im not sure if it's something rare Or common but I know that when u get the plasma eye it shows a kind of like a mushroom with 3 eyes on it. Im not sure of what is below it because Im scared of dying and losing this place but I can check and make another comment about it's location if that would help in any way (I think it's high above clouds)
There are five fungal altars in the world, they are a part of the sun quest (if you ever wanted to do it without a tutorial). One of them is in the sky, between the eastern cloudscape and the first layer of the Work.
What if you do that with a wand with an always cast? Does it leave the spell? if not I think there should be a forge somewhere you can take a wand with an always cast, melt it down and get the spell out of it. It would also be super cool if you could take a spell + some rare materials and forge a new wand with that always cast.

Do you mean it's inconsistent because you sometimes have to try multiple times? That probably can't be fixed without breaking a lot of other stuff because of how the entire engine works with physics objects, liquid pixels and wands. i.e. wands are on their own layer outside of solids and liquids. They don't have physics like either of those (or like items) so they behave differently (and can phase through the floor a bit when you throw them on it, which is what happens during this). I think maybe the devs don't want us to be able to throw wands at enemies in order to kill them...this could also result in enemies killing themselves on wands by trying to pick them up. So having to throw a wand a few times into pheromone in order to get it to land just right is a small price to pay.
Yes, but certain structures remain the same, but also, the random generation is in chunks, there are certain formations/patterns that you can recognize if you've played the game enough and are paying attention.
I wonder if the devs will fix Perk Duping next? That has only recently been discussed in English speaking Noita communities, but it is beyond game breaking, lol. It's pretty fun stuff, but I would personally like to see all the unintentional exploits like this be plugged.
While it is game breaking, it’s definitely a very late-game thing most people will be doing after the main loop is complete. It’s very powerful, but there are a lot of ways to really break the game at this point. That said, yes, I can see them patching it.
@@FuryForged I just mean the devs went to great lengths to ensure that certain Perks can only stack certain amounts, which the duping completely breaks. The other major one to fix is breaking the Perk Reroll Machine.

Instead of simply removing the "feature", they have kept it working but now Steve spawns in while you're polymorphed. Very dangerous! Another way they could fix it, kinda implementing it like heart ache, is making so it still spawns ghosts, but the wand stats rapidly worsen (or maybe max mana and charge drain) and the wand is destroyed at a certain time. So instead of infinite money, you get ghosts spawning for say 30 seconds and they die after 5 seconds if they don't have a wand. Basically, instead of directly selling the wand for money, you sacrifice a wand for a chance to get money.
On a random, unrelated note... have you ever come across "Fungus" in noita? Not weird fungus, nor mysterious fungus? It's got a green glow and behaves just like it's other variants.
You can get green fungus from chests or also from a few different pixel scenes, yeah! The one that usually has the most is in the Mines - every now and then you'll find a little cave with toxic sludge inside and a bunch of the toxic and acid guys just hanging out in there. There'll be green fungus in there.
Ah sad to see it being fixed. I really liked the trick, with the ghostfarming espaccially combined with tablet bending you could remotly farm money with gravitating gold perk. :/
NGL, I never used this. I usually get enough gold for some wands in early game and I don't reroll often because rerolling to much makes it harder to break reroll machines. And in midgame you can just go to the gold biome and forget about ever having money issues again.
@@floppydysk This is often the only way I can get money. My RNG often means I have zones full of slimes and fire throwing guys. I start without bombs and can't even farm gold deposits. Ugh. I get it, but this sort of sucks.
Farming ghosts was tedious and inefficient, this change allows you to get small amounts of gold (what the exploit was good for anyway) in a very quick and safe manner. If you are after large sums of money you should just go to The Gold biome instead of spending an hour throwing tablets.
So now buy all these cheap wands and sell them for a profit is actually a mecanic. Nice! If you arrive in the coals, see a wand at 180, it's a net +20 for you
For some reason, I can still use empty wands and tablet and farm gold. I checked files, disabled mods and reinstalled Noita, but this new feature just doesn't work.
It’s on the beta branch of the game, not the main branch. After they finish the current round of bug fixes they’ll push it to the main branch. If you have the game on Steam, you can still access the beta branch, though.
Does an always cast wand count as an empty? I wonder if they're gonna mess with any other weird "exploits" like fifth wand, or the reload mods stain glitch
Now imagine accidentally throwing your 26-slot late game wand, you spent 2 hours fixing with perk exploits, into a pool of pheromone you unwittingly created nearby, all because you suddenly felt like doing some tinkering on ng 11, and then watch it turn into two gold nuggets. Beautiful thing about this game, is that you know it will happen to someone. But hey, if it adds to the list of obscure ways I can get noita'd aswell, I'm not mad. Alternative was that the ghost ignored the wand, picked up the storage wand I dropped nearby and then shot a hole in my graphics card. So no more infinite gold off half a scoop of pheromone, but atleast my gpu is a bit safer. But whenever god closes a door, he opens a window. I'm interested to see if the noita scientists ends up breaking this mechanic apart aswell.
Hmm.. that's kind of too bad. Noita isnt the game where you just insta-win because you have tons of gold, almost 100% of the game is rng based, i practically always thoroughly, and very carefully take time descending and more often then not it doesnt matter how much money i have the perks are not going to give me a win, the wands are ass, or the spells are so low tier it's not gonna give me an a win anyways. (Unless i get some good rolls on the world gen). But, nonetheless its a creative way to rid of an exploit. Makes me wonder what else is considered an exploit though considering how in depth and creative/crazy some things are possible on this game
Guess i didnt really explain why, but theres been a few times where i screw up like every noita player and had to just leave to the mountain and i happened to find a pheromone, which in its itself is rng and rare id find anyways so it seems so little of importance but i guess it CAN happen
bridge boss cheese and mining with tablets probably qualify as exploits too, but im not sure i wanna see them go. ABBC has made the game far more entertaining to me after hundreds of hours and I think I would've stopped much earlier to mod instead of go for 100%ing achievements without it since the early game is kind of a slog after hundreds of times.
