Selmer Concept vs Claude Delangle | Classical Alto Sax Mouthpieces 

I have the Claude Delangle. It took me a while to get used to it as I had previously played an S80 C** and I can feel the weight of it and a bit more resistance but I like the sound more. I currently play on it with D'addario reserve reeds and a BG Duo rose gold ligature and get a warm tone with good projection. I have tried a Concept but somehow I found the Concept slightly harder to play compared to the Claude Delangle despite the narrower tip opening on the Concept.

I honestly just came here to listen to Alastair's beautiful playing. However, it was also interesting to hear his thoughts on the Claude Delangle. Do they also have this mpc for sop?

I use them both, the concept is a little warmer and less loud than the Delangle. If I want a soft warm sound I use the concept. If I need a louder sound I will take the Delangle. They both play fantastic

I am feeling very confused about the Concept. I see advertisements for Selmer Concept and then advertisements for Selmer Concept 452. What is the difference?

did he mention what reed strength he is using?

They are both excellent for their purposes, but Claude Delangle mouthpiece adds to the saxophone sound a bit of zing, emotion and expression found in the human voice. Perhaps that's the effect it has on the player. It's the first time I heard a classical saxophone mouthpiece doing more than just good intonation and evenness of tone.
