only dutch fighters on the ring at the end iam french and i have a big respect for them once netherlands rulled the sea of kickboxing with talent and devotion thank you very much
Its that half front kick to the body that started it. Its his signature. Can change the whole fight with that one kick. Once he hit it, it was a matter of time. The clean shot Semmy landed to the head was a bi product of that kick to the body. Absolute hell of a kick
@@Rainchild33082 exactly, semmy looks awkward but he has perfected his craft all his life as he is a devoted Kyokushin karate practitioner a true martial artist and of course strong as 3 men
@@freeair7292 I couldn't agree more! The man could throw with the best of them. He wasn't a bad MMA guy either. He went 1 and 1 in the UFC. Beat Pete Williams with that body kick and punches. Lost to Josh Barnett who was tough in his own right. With a little more ground training no doubt he becomes a champ. One of the pioneers of Martial Arts. Blessed to have lived in the time of these gladiators
@@Rainchild33082 agreed👍 same man, we lived the golden age of kick boxing, semmy has the most titles including 4 k1 championships and the glory heavyweight title. For me late 90s and early 00s k1 was the best combat show, so many good fights!
@@mehdirhouni9429Well that was Badr Hari in a word or two, no?? Big big explosive offense, and strategically catastrophic defense, that would lead to a knockout loss. That's why he's not The Greatest, but is an All-time Great. Offensively, he was top 3 all-time.
He's also still giving us exciting fights and is still competing at an extremely high level 12 years later. For someone that's been knocked down so many times, he's still getting up and fighting and he's had huge wins along the way.
I disagree with the commentary in this fight. The reason Badr beat Semmy In the first fight was because he was immediately explosive and caught Semmy cold.
Whoever said Schilt was so dominant just because he's big was simply wrong. Just look at the speed and precision of those strikes - that takes incredible skill and mastery.
@@strongmind3881 They already did a ton of roids back then. It was even easier to not be caught back in those days, its still easy today cause lots of roids cant be detected in urine samples, only a blood sample. Drug testing in sports are bullshit because they only test urine -_-
As a long time fan going back to the early days of pride and also the Gracie ufc dominance, and all the way today, I strongly feel that if Badr had the right camp and team, he goes down as one of the best mma ever... amazing raw talent that was never refined.. with never a game plan... bad dude....
@@mr.marino9247 if you accurately snipe the chin (which is easiest with a hook or uppercut), you make the head suddenly jank in an unnatural way, being the easiest way to knockout. The hook isn't a much stronger punch than a jab, it's mostly that it has a better chance of hitting weakspots (chin, liver)
The GOAT Schilt just stepped back and waited for the kill.... Badr should've been patient then he would win if he had used another tactic instead of rushing over Schilt like that like did Aerts the following year. Anyway two beasts at the pinnacle of their art.
Just the way how Schilt locks to Badr. Badr he knew before the fight even start he gona lose. 1 thing i like to share with everybody. Lock on 11.27 you see Holland's best muay thai fighter and best foreigner thai boxer ever. RAMON DEKKERS.
Don’t be unfair. Schilt connected a ver good jab that destabilized Badr and the fight was over. That’s it, but before that Badr was pressing him and was clearly winning using the same strategy that he used in his first fight when he won and it was a clearly one sided fight.
The greatest fighters win everything but also loose big time. All the great names Hoost Hari Aarts Dekker Bonjaski etc. That's heavy weight at its purest.
Fun fact: Badr is Dutch (born in Amsterdam) Semmy Shilt is Dutch and Remi Aerts as well. Badr consideres himself Moroccon which I respect, but they all grew up in the same country. Just a fun fact. (Jamal Ben Saddik just a few kilometers south as well btw)
I love your innocence. But this is not fun fact. Sad fact. The right question is why. Even if you are born in Amsterdam and defending the dutch flag, you still moroccan and need to justify and take distance of other peoples acts. Such a shame.
Piece
Because NL has high quality of life, beautiful women, tallest country (height average) and has tons of high quality kickboxers. If Semmy or Badr weren't rep the country for example, then Aerts or Hoost would, and they are also world class. Morocco, if you remove Badr, has nothing.
Badr already fought Karaev & Overeem. Especially the fight with Overeem drained a lot of energy, because he pressured himself with the promise that he would win of Overeem in the first Round. Schilt also is a big strong man, he was 30 kg more than almost all the other heavyweight fighters in K1. He should fight in the Giant League 😂. Overall a great tournament
@@Tony-fx9ky His analysis was still on point. Especially the weight difference. In MMA Schilt would've been a super heavyweight and would need to cut weight to fight in heavyweight. Size matters
Wtf that's no excuse, Semmy also fought twice and both Badr and Semmy both had 2 wins by 1e rounds knockout so they're exactly even. Also why do you think that a first round knockout drains more energy fighting 3 whole rounds? Getting a first round knockout is the best possible thing to get when you're fighting a tournament and need to fight 3 fights on 1 night.
@@vmbo What he means is that size won't truly help anymore at some point in this range. I do agree that size matters, but Semmy beat Badr with skill here, there's no denying that.
