It's great that CSPAN posts these full length videos but they can be so painful to listen to at normal speed. McCain might not live long enough to make it through some of these. I'm just glad I can speed them up and watch these videos in 1/2 the time so I can watch more without getting bored out of my mind and keep up on the Campaign.
@@RockHardTrucker The speech was given prior to his defeat. He accepted the nomination. Here is his concession speech ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NvgqRKYapU8.html
It still gives me goosebumps. I'm a Trump guy. But I was a big McCain supporter in 2008. He was a great American and that was a great speech. He would've made an excellent president.
The change from years of being told you can't get something when it should be possible. Change from being told no hope will come for you when your losing your home, losing a loved one or can't put your child threw college because you can't afford it.
"we never hide from history, we make history!" Great words from an equally great man. So what if he was tricked by a wicked man. They both were beaten by an even greater man.
I've always loved this speech. If he beat Obama, the USA U Think would be in a much better place than it is today. f'n Sara, if only he had a better running mate the election would have at the least been close
JoshCT kisluk I think he lost because people wasn't a fan of George Bush, but I Think in 2012 Mitt Romney would have won if he pick someone else than Paul Ryan".
McCain is a TRUE American and i honor his service and hope that he knows that. As a future Marine, i just wished he would have won instead the idiot we have in the White House now, with Biden Semper Fi. John
Well, I certainly hope I'm not the last. To heal the wounds is the first step to our economic recovery. I hope that the politicians can mend political wounds as easily as I have learned to. ^_^
There once was a Senator named McCain Who went on live TV without his brain He blinked and blined Then held on to his dink And said, "Sarah will fill in for me" You think?
Is "character" and "wisdom" what led you to vote George W. Bush into office for a second term? If you think that oration alone is why Americans favor Obama you haven't been paying attention. Beyond his speaking ability is the way he connects with voters. For one, he listens. Not to the wealthiest 2% of the population, but to average, middle-class, hard-working Americans. We are millions of voices funding his campaign - not corporate lobbyists. The days of McBush are numbered. No third term.
McCain has the experience, the heart and the guts to stand for what we need, he's not Bush and i believe he will bring the well needed change we are looking for.
Even though I'm a Independent and I really respect John McCain and would have voted for him in 2000, I really think we need Barack Obama as president this time. In this time I think Barack would make this country and international relationships much stronger then a McCain presidency. THINK ABOUT IT
I have to agree, I am raising two kids and never been without health insurance, money in the bank. I just mowed the lawn with my John Deere. Life is good. Everyone I know who is hurting sits in the tavern everyday. People who are out working are doing just fine.
Since you like percentages, here are some for you. In Senate votes McCain voted along side his party 90% of the time while Obama voted along side his party 97% of the time. Do you think either one of them can be bipartisan?
You have the opportunity to do the right thing. Don't disappoint your country a 2nd time. George Bush was never ready to be prez and neither is McCain.
