THANK YOU MR. WHITEHOUSE !!! YOUR MY HERO FOR SHOWING THIS ADMINISTRATION FOR WHO THEY REALLY ARE !!!!!!!!!!! AND WHO'S BOUGHT AND PAID FOR THE " BARRETT " VOTE
Men of honor come when the light they provide us is dimming and it has been dim in the USA but this man has given faith and hope to many with this questioning
That look on her face during your questioning is priceless. Clearly Judge Barrett knew she was up against a highly respected and knowledgeable man! You're brilliant Senator! Thank you for your service!
I would advise you to not make the mistake of assuming a sitting Senator is more knowledgeable or respectable than a sitting Judge. This woman is answering each of his questions with grace and without notes. I like Whitehouse, but to suggest she was being “stumped” by the Senators questions is a little silly.
Why not ask her about her role in the stopping of the Gore vs. Bush Florida recount? It is illegal. All three appts to the SC by Trump were involved. I remember it why not Democrats who are lawyers?
But it's crazy how you are worried about corruption in another country. This is happening in your own. I guess it's a, all corruption matters situation.
@@uio890138 Well if we did that, there would be no confirmation hearings this close to an election, right? That's the excuse corrupt Republicans used to deny a legitimate President his SCOTUS pick. Republicans made up that rule to benefit themselves then. Now Republicans are changing their own rule to benefit themselves again. Power hungry hypocrites.
@Bill A It is a pity "Bill" that you were unable to follow Sen. Whitehouse's description of how dark money has bought decisions, in the SC. It's really not that complex. You obviously didn't notice that he addressed no questions to the nominee during his expose. Rather he attempted to explain to her how her nomination had been purchased. Your rantings are illogical, ill argued, and groundless.
I don't understand the finer nuances of the US law but Senator Whitehouse, I salute your attempts to educate folks like me and the larger public (assuming they are watching). This whole nomination process a few days before the foundational election process (when millions have already voted) is shameful and disgraceful, to say the least.
@M lol good point. so what did joe did with all the bribe money these decades how much is it and what did the foreign govts want from him? im really curious plz enlighten me thx. wait isn't it consider treason to receive bribe money from foreign country. why isn't he locked up yet. im really confused.
This is extremely important. It directly sheds light on how our court systems are being manipulated and corrupted. This is information that should be disseminated by Americans everywhere.
Correct. This is as big as it gets. It seems the majority of people do not yet get the significance of what Sen. Whitehouse has described. Let's home the news media does its job, and ensures this is carried to every corner of the Country.
I've never in the past really taken much interest in politics and government until this election, and I just want to say after watching Whitehouse present his information about Dark Money, and the connections he made, my mind was blown. Never have I been more impressed listening to someone speak. I don't live in your state, but I hope to God the senate has you for a long time. This ties to the very nature of everything that is wrong with our government and how it's no longer in the hands of the people. Truly eye opening. I truly believe if you want to know what is going on in our country to stop watching media stories, and news papers (not literally stop all), but instead to watch court proceeding, senate hearings, read official government documents. It's the only way to escape the huge influence of being told what opinion to have instead of being presented with information and making your own opinion.
I'm with you on this. I am an Aussie and have watched a lot of his videos on Dark Money and his questioning of different people and he is such a wonderful speaker and his questions are so "on the mark". Give this bloke not two, but "four thumbs up" I can tell you I'm a Whitehous and Franken kinda guy.
@@scottbennard dark money is funneled to all political parties. Just ask our President, he was one of Bill Clinton largest contributors and one of his biggest supporters. Our President also, donated to Kamala Harris, on numerous occasions, but heck he said it was only business.
@@Riff65 Ahh...what did Trump say about the media..."Enemy of the people", right? The media, love'em or hate'em, they perform a vital service to to freedom throughout the world.
This Senator Sheldon Whitehouse is extremely helpful and very honest, he is educational and very good. Love that in people like this gentleman Senator Sheldon Whitehouse. I bow to you Sir.
This is the video everyone must watch about the hearing. The code of conduct, reporting requirements and ethics violations should also apply to Supreme Court members.
And their spouses. Thomas's wife runs several of these dark money groups. You don't think she might hold influence or tell him what these groups want in private? It's despicable. And no justice or judge should be a member of any of these groups, or being paid to hold talks with them.
He is sorely needed in the Senate for Rhode Island and as one of the most climate forward Senators and one of the most conscious and pushing for fixing the most dangerous aberrations in politics which can't be addressed in the same manner in the White House as the president. Each branch can serve very different important purposes in very different ways. These are the reasons that I personally believe that he is needed where he is and why I hope he continues to serve on the Senate. I doubt he wishes to go through a presidential campaign and leave open the seat he so well serves in. This is my opinion. But I understand why people always think that people they are impressed with should run for the Presidentcy.
This Senator got on the mic, and straight TOLD IT LIKE IT IS!!!!! He told her how he KNEW about her being "Selected" to be the Nominee by these Various Unknown People or Organizations PRIOR to the Judge even being Officially Selected! He let her know that he KNOWS where all the money 💰 is coming from, and what it's going to...!!! In short: He TOLD HER ASS LIKE IT IS!!!!! PERIOD!!! On the STRAIGHT 💯!!!
Thank you Senator Whitehouse!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Brilliant, amazing and hopeful. I think the presidency might be your destiny...Senator Whitehouse.
@@fareedali4010 great . Since you are so intelligent why don't you refute each of his points one by one and disprove anything he's said. Oops your a republican.... You don't have morals or logic so you can't. But if you think you can go ahead. 😂😂
Cameron Simon you must feel nice about being on the side that has sold out your country to China: Big Tech; Media; Corrupt Politicians. Not being an American, Could ANYONE tell me if Mr Whitehouse is the ONLY American that absolutely shines with integrity. ....having been made aware of the likes of Cruz and Graham there doesn't seem to be much of an opposition to Mr. Whitehouse's apparent integrity.
Alan Grayson, Dennis Kucinich, Justin Amash, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Adam Schiff all have proven to shine with an integrity which has upset and hindered the R steamroller. Grayson, well known for investigating contractor corruption in Iraq and Afghanistan, was removed by the Florida democrats in a Senate primary by a weak candidate who then gave the Senate seat to Marco Rubio. Global warming problems have disappeared in Florida because government workers are forbidden to use the 'term'.
Extremely grateful to have a Senator who is actually looking out for his constituents, and the people of the United States, as opposed to the vast majority of those ‘serving’ in the Senate.
*I am stunned.* She did not know that the Code of Ethics, which rules her behavior as a judge, is rendered null an void when a judge is elevated to a high-court justice. This is what reeked the most about Beer Kavenut, and the non-investigation of his unethical behavior, making him unfit to be a judge, let alone a justice. Her ignorance of core ethical values, if true, disqualifies her from the high court. Or she's lying; and is thus similarly disqualified.
It is weird she doesn't know! Every elected and appointee. Has this code of office. In my community several. School Board members went to prison for taking kickbacks from companies who did business with the District. "Vote for my contract and I will be good to you" a friend of mine was a council member and one i invited her for lunch. She accepted the invite but told me she would pay for her self. She didn't want people to think she was taking gifts .
Masterful work sir. This Canadian salutes you. The impact of this appointment and the coming election impacts the world. Your integrity is a rare and precious thing
I’ve been thinking for years that Senator Whitehouse should run for president. Unfortunately, I think he may be ‘too good’ for the office so I fear we’ll never see it. When I say ‘too good’, don’t get me wrong I respect the office (or at least I used to), but I feel to run for president you need to be a ‘performer’. And I feel inherent to that is a certain level disingenuousness. And simply put, Whitehouse may have too much integrity to excel on the campaign-trail-puppet-show, at least in the eyes of the ‘low frequency’ voters - which is sadly a large proportion of Americans. Thank you for your hard work, integrity and relentlessness Senator Whitehouse. If we had more people like you in power our country would be a better place to live.

A corrupt supreme court is the result of allowing big money interests to select the justices such has been the case with all the republican appointed justices, they literally are told by the American heritage foundation whom to appoint , I didn't realize exactly how corrupt the court has become until I watched this video though, it's no longer our US supreme court, it appears to be the American heritage foundation supreme court, courtesy of Mitch McConnell
I've been waiting for 4 years for a Democrat to be professional, knowledgeable and authoritative in the handling of these Republican and their tomfoolery. He gives me some hope.
Senator, I cannot put in words how much I enjoyed these presentations! Well it is that way in the US and most likely in other countries as well. Very well done, thank you! Roland Holtz Germany
A life time job in the Supreme court of the people, you all have to follow the money not just her but her husband‘s too before trusting her in the highest position.
We love the Senator from Rhode Island working hard to preserve democracy, which lies in jeopardy with mega-corporate donors behind the scenes pushing their conservative agenda.

I ask Senator Whitehouse and to anyone else for that matter... Shouldn't the dark money activities described in his presentation be considered RACKETEERING?
Jo Kamburt - the disastrous Citizens United v FEC case legalized money laundering and bribery in politics by weaponizing un-limited dark money as "free speech" in an egregious mis-interpretation of the first amendment. This case was launched by an alt-right-wing-nut from Indiana named James Bopp, who still runs the republican't party in that state. #MoscowMitch has always been all about money in politics, and this case is a significant part of the considerable damage that #MoscowMitch has done to the United States of America.. To date, twenty states have had voters approve of a Constitutional Amendment to clarify that the First Amendment "free speech" provisions don't apply to judicial entities like Unions and Corporations, and that money is not "speech". Still have to get another 18 states. Ben Cohen (of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream) has been a leader in this effort. Make your objections heard at www.stampstampede.org/

More than that, who is contributing the money?. Is any of it funnelled from foreign powers, or is it just domestic huge corporations who've bought the SC? Or both?
@@mbd6054 Groups like the Kochs, large polluters, and far right religious nuts are funding these things, but it would be bad for business to know it. That's why the kochs will spend a small amount here or there on a mild reform for the good press, while spending billions on regulatory roll back, and stocking the courts and congress with stooges that will do their bidding.
@@andycanfixit Undoubtedly. It is the ultimate corruption, because the SC is the ultimate source of recourse for those seeking justice. Senator Whitehouse drew a very chilling and accurate picture of the 'scheme' as he termed it, and the 80 cases which have been effectively decided by dark money. The facts would merit the investigation of these decisions, and the sources that, on the face of it, purchased them. Perhaps that would be a better, if more difficult, method of dealing with SC numbers, than just appointing additional judges to restore some semblance of balance.
@@mbd6054 I think you need an investigation and if not expansion of the court, than rules requiring accountability and transparency as well as rules requires a 2/3rds majority of the court to overturn congressional legislation, all of which are legal. That alone would take the court out of fights the "originalists" deem political. And if members of the court like Thomas and Alito are corrupt, which they appear to be, impeach them.
@@andycanfixit I agree with every word you've said. To me, it's essential that balance is restored to the SC, and in the short term there seems little choice but to appoint at least one additional Judge to the Court. But ultimately, those 80 cases must be investigated, however long it takes, and every corrupt judge must be impeached, and prosecuted for corruption. No democracy can function with a corrupt Supreme Court. Patching the problem with an additional appointment will be effective, but it will not save the Court. We must rid ourselves of the notion that the rich and powerful cannot be imprisoned. They can be, and should be. Biden must appoint only those who believe this to be the case.
'Now that you know, how do you feel about it?" Graham's question. She answered. To any other questions by the Democrats she artfully but clearly avoided.
I suggest Whitehouse submit a new law for passage requiring all litigants before the SC disclose all their corporate entanglements. Its a misuse of the Court , and really should be prosecuted.
