I am very picky whom I listen to but Hon Sifuna and Hon Onyoka i take time to hear what they have to say. They are honest and don't try to sugar coat things.
Raila is not the president. I don’t understand what Mungatana is talking about. They have called Raila all manner of names. Mungatana loves being lied to. The Cameroonians lied to him.

Edwin Sifuna is my favourite politician. Why are African elders so obsessed with respect? What they are asking for is to be feared not to be respected. Lie to them and don't call them out on anything. Didn't they get the memo that says respect is earned? Didn't they get the memo that says if they did esteemable things and carried themselves in a self respecting manner then the respect that they so desperately crave would come naturally from people without them having to beg for it?

Respect is earned. There is more to it than just being old. Old people lie, steal, fail, are greedy just like anybody else. And many of them are stuck in their ways they can't even see a need for things to be done differently, because of the unnecessary fake niceness that is being called for. Nobody was slandered, a spade was just called a spade.
I was in Tana river the last week and this make me shade tears. Seeing their senator, who was Mp for Garsen misplacing priorities. That county has no roads, electricity maybe 2% connected. Water problem despite having rivers. And this guy busy fighting for projects which won't benefit his people.

Being an elder has got nothing of importance. We are all bound by the constitution. The merger fact that someone is older doesn't give them a leeway to peddle lies and non factual arguments.
