The finale song in the movie "Rock & Rule" as sung by Angel (Deborah Harry) and Omar (Robin Zander). I took the edit someone else made and then added on the last part of it from the ending credits.

It's an addictive song isn't it? Yeah, I wish there was a cleaner version of this, too. Maybe someday. Cross fingers and hope to whomever it happens.

@@mizo3856 A totally clean (as in no dialogue, monster noises, or screaming, only instruments and voices) version would be nice though. Wouldn't mind a vinyl of this movie's soundtrack!

Im afraid the whole original audio tracks were lost in fire. Only bad quality tapes made for critics exist nowdays. LP was never released.

It is a straight up tragedy that the soundtrack for this movie was never released. Such great music in an equally great movie. The funny part is that in the "making of" video on the Rock & Rule DVD that Blondie says she wanted the soundtrack to be released... Bummer.

Ric Flair Loves Horses so actually I’m not sure if you know the real history or not behind rock and rule and why there’s no soundtrack. There was actually a big fire where this movie as well as the soundtrack was stored and sadly it was lost to the fire. We do have the VHS copy in the pen and scan format but we don’t have the original one. It really is a shame if only Debbie pushed harder maybe we would’ve had the soundtrack before the fire. I also believe it’s the Canadian one that survives there is an American one out there too but in my opinion the Canadian version is much better than the American one

They would have had this not been such a money eating tank in the theaters. Sometimes you have to know your audience might not be right there right then. Allowing it to be a cult classic may have worked with a grittier look...I don't know what it would have taken for this to "work"

Sadly it's not a common thing to keep the original prints of unsuccessful projects. Even Rudy Ray Moore threw away the negatives to Dolemite. It's a damn shame these indie gems will never get an HD version, but much love and respect to the creators.

I seriously doubt the only existing copy was a VHS tape. There's no way they could have produced the DVD they did with only a VHS tape. The original negative was destroyed in the warehouse fire, I believe, but there were other prints in existence, either for television broadcast or theatrical screenings, and that's what was used to produce the DVD.

BTW, I read once that none of the people involved in making this track were ever in the room together. I think it started off as, more or less a Blondie track (though it's not billed as such, I believe it's like 3/5's of the classic Blondie lineup), recorded in NYC. Then they sent the tape to Chicago, where Robin Zander and I think Rick Nielsen did a few overdubs. Then the tape went back to Toronto, where the lady (whose name I've forgotten) who the film's score did the synth overdubs.

I think they had a soundtrack ready to release, and it was lost in the fire that destroyed the CDN version; that's why the only existing copy was a VHS recording. I think :/

It's actually _spectacular_ how good their voices sound together. I watched this movie for the first time last weekend, and I haven't been able to shake this song. It's enough to make me truly believe that the power of their singing a duet could send a demon back to hell. Such a shame that a soundtrack was never released because the music carries the film and is honestly fantastic.

I've said before that the movie is good, but the final scene and this song is just AMAZING. It's almost "too good" for the rest of the film, IMO. Just breathtaking, musically and who the whole thing plays out. One of the most triumphant endings to ANY movie (live action or animated) I've ever seen.

Harry reworked this song into 'Maybe For Sure' on her '89 album 'Def, Dumb & Blonde'. It's not as epic but much cleaner and still quite addictive.

The fact that MGM bought the film but never officially released it in the United States for full-on theatrical distribution and the original master of this wonderful song was destroyed at the studio where it was recorded IN A FIRE, only proves how spot-on the plot actually is and I'm sure Daniel Mouse can attest to that!! 😁

They didn't lose it due to ineptness. There was a fire and the storage facility they kept it in burned down.

@@maul485 damn, it's been years, but I still want to say that no person lost it. It was destroyed in a fire, hence why _none_ of the soundtrack had been officially released. There was no way to get ahold of it after the fire.

@@hanablack2495 check amazon prime music. Cheap trick released 3 songs from this movie on there america, sex and cheap trick. Also debbie harry released an altered version of angels song called maybe for sure
