Seneca Dragonfly MK2 Multi-Pump Airgun Challenge 

Awesome...i have one of those, it is my favorite airgun i think. I live up in the mountains... I have found that it is helpful with pumpers to take a chronograph with you and find how many pumps it takes to get close to the velocity with the same pellet you record at lower elevation. So i live at 7,000 ft and it takes quite a few more pumps to hit the box velocity here (about 60% more) but when i go up to 10,000 ft, then it takes a lot more (like twice as many or even more with some guns). This is the same with pcp's... When I use a hand pump at 7,000, it takes 60-70% more pumps to fill than at sea level, and then twice as many again at 10,000 ft. Velocity drops off a bit at 10,000 ft no matter how many pumps, usually around 7-8% drop. Of course this is all due to the thinner air up here. That said, the power will actually equal out at range because the ballistic coefficient goes way up at higher elevations because the air resistance is far less, so even though the pellet starts out slower it makes up for it at 20-30-40-etc, yards because it does not slow down as fast.. It would make a really interesting video for a lot of airgunners that live at higher elevations.

I've been considering one of these rifles. Being at some altitude (4000 ft) the thinner air robs some power from a break-barrel. With a multi-pump it's possible to add a few more pumps to compensate for the thinner air. I saw a review, by HAM I think it was, where they were 675 fps and 18 ft-lbs with 15 pumps, using the JSB 18.13gr, along with excellent accuracy. Enjoyed your vid, thanks for sharing!

Great video Dana and nice shooting and absolutely correct it takes a notch up to master a multi pump air rifle I've grown up with them in 177, 20, 22 caliber. The Dragonfly is a great little rifle in 22 caliber. I did notice at 13:30 the reaction of the jackrabbit dropping it's ears indicating a strong body shot and it's reaction is the same as the one you shot just a little later. I'm thinking that the Dragonfly would make a great little rat rifle. Cheers to you and Marley Dana

Dana did you find that the six screws in the pumping arm keep loosening up on you when you pump the gun up ?? After about 10 pumps mine all get loose ! Thats not 10 shots it 10 pumps so i can't even get to full power before i have to retighten the screws ! And blue loctite does not help !! Im about ready to use J-B weld on the screws !!

I have a.22 PCP Avenger which gives me 30 ft pounds & yeah it's good for 90 yards but I am looking for a .22 500/550 10 ft pound rifle for 25 yard suburban Pest Control and to replace a C02 rifle,... I think I just found it :)
