Please excuse the seemingly random cut at 2:47. A segment of this video was copyright claimed by the NFL, and needed to be removed so this video could be shown on RU-vid.

A man responsible for 1 of the greatest college football highlights of all time, known as "the run" in 2002.

In 2018 I conducted a rudimentary QB study as part of getting more accurate Madden ratings on PS2. Basically I gathered passing stats only from games where a QB played a meaningful number of snaps (45% or more I think). Seneca Wallace’s stat line breaks down like this: 26 games, 24 starts 425 comp/716 att (59.4%) 4460 yds 28 TDs, 17 INTs 80.6 passer rating He played for meaningful snaps for 18 Seahawks appearances, 7 for the Browns, and 1 for the Packers. On average he threw the ball 27 times per meaningful appearance for only 172 yards. His TD% was 3.9 which is mediocre. His INT% was 2.4 which is pretty good nowadays (better than probowlers of a few years back like Palmer, Dalton, Romo, even Peyton Manning - comparable to Matt Stafford and Joe Flacco) but way above expectations back when he played. Essentially his biggest drawback was his TDs thrown per game, around 1.07. A “moderate” QB hits 1.50 and excellent QBs are up at 1.70. Not included, though, are rushing stats because most QBs in Madden 12 were not scramblers and I figured out rushing ratings by 40 times and eye test. Also, Wallace’s rushing opportunities were likely less than if he had ever been a long-term starter because if you’re already on your QB2 you can’t afford him getting hurt cuz it’s a way steeper drop to QB3. All this to say: I think Seneca Wallace would have been an incredible QB in this era. He didn’t score a lot of points but that had more to do with the teams he was on and the fact that he was only filling in for a few games at a time usually. He excelled at protecting the ball at a pro-bowl level which proved he understood how to read a defense. All-in-all for a QB from Iowa State who was asked to moonlight as a WR when the QB1 was healthy I think he had an NFL career he can be proud of. I just wish that last game in GB had gone better for him.

Also it should be noted the one year he started 8 games he threw 11 TDs to 3 INTs for an INT rate of 1.2, which is like Rodgers, Brady, and Alex Smith in their best seasons.

Man ahead of his time. If he played in todays NFL he'd be a starter at least.

Seneca wasn't a bad backup at all. Floated around for a few years hanging with Holmgren & his associates. Played for Seahawks, Browns, & Packers started at least once for all three. The snow game shown VS Jets was in Seattle (it doesn't really snow there) with the Packers he played the Bears & lost to Josh McCown (who obviously is a power player on this channel. Lol) Wallace was in the Carson Palmer draft with Hall of Famers like Rex Grossman & Chris Simms.

Seneca Wallace was ahead of his time who didn’t have the same opportunities as other quarterbacks did. He only played 11 seasons for different teams before he retired from the NFL.

He played in the wrong era, in the 2000s only elite scramblers were him and Vick but gms didn't give seneca the same opportunities because he wasn't drafted as high or on the game his rating was so low but i promise u, i do everything u can do with vick with Seneca, easily too and cheaper
