I hope those new leaders succeed in their endeavors and other African countries learn from this move they’ve made instead of adding to taxes and burdening the people.
Really substance of life stuff here and you capture it so well again. Proper Social Order administered by any government must prioritize a social contract that includes safety and services for the people. Great stuff
While this sounds like a good idea, it can actually lead to the scarcity of those very goods the government is trying to protect. The prices of basic goods are set in a complicated way through the free market environment - everything is connected. An artificial reduction in the price of rice, will lead to demand exceeding supply because more can afford now. So because of this, rice will eventually become scarce unless supply is mitigated by additional increase in production. Instead of artificially decreasing the price of rice, he should instead make the growing and importation of rice cheaper. Supply will then naturally increase, leading to a price reduction. Such actions have led to hunger in places like Venezuela etc
Thank you Ma'am Wongel, keep up the good work you are doing to push for good governance and awakening in Africa..... Keep up, you are voice. Following from Cameroon
Thank you wongel for covering this. The problem is a lot of country are hold hostage by some lobbies who make the life of the local very hard and that's what President Faye understood by taking these measures. A phone number is provided to report anyone who don't follow those rules.
Is hope people will have better life and let’s wait and see if things will change for the best. Africa needs more young presidents who are for the benefits of their citizens
I’m so glad this pleases you Achoti but for me this is a move quiet the critics for a while and be used prevent a coup he entered a debt trap with the french his massa who agreed to let him through around some crumbs to the Village this a classic smokescreen he been getting battered on social media for being puppet who has abandoned all his fake pan melanated continent rhetoric because anybody knows political science knows that it’s like mixing oil and water democracy and revolutionary military rule those governances can’t coexist faye is an french imperialist political experiment to counter the AES Shalom Achoti Wongel
Senegal finally has a President who put the needs of the people first, the old guard leaders take note, if the old guard do not change there ways, the people will vote them out. The people of Africa eyes are open, and know which leaders are for the elite and the outsiders.
There's one country in Africa that's not getting the recognition It has not borrowed from IMF, education from pre school up to degree as long as one gets good grades and feeds students at school, healthcare is free for citizens, fuel is subsidised, animal feeds and fertilisers are subsidised, builds houses for the poor. Electricity is connected to all households for free, one pays for usage only.
Hello Ms. Zelalem , good job on your reporting. Which really shouldn't surprise anyone. 🌷 It's not all ways what you say , but how you say it . You really connect with people.
