look at the steering whell while SENNA driving! Unbelievable. He feels the car like a part of his body . He is integrated with car. This why he is unrivaled, this is why he is legend
Absolutely, they're both man and machine in such a unique skilled driving exposition showed. The way Senna managed oversteering is such a delight to watch. He's for sure a driving and racing legend.
kurosawa developed 99% of the nsx and actually got honda to create such a car. He still holds many records on the nordschelife today and was one of japans top racers in the 70s
It's untrue, the main drivers who helped in the development of the NSX were Senna and Nakajima. Kurosawa is not mentioned by Honda as having participated in the development. The car only went into series production after Senna's feedback. On Honda's website they mention Senna's name, but they don't mention Kurosawa's.
@@leonardokdc1 Kurosawa was a bridgestone tire tester as well as honda test driver at the time. To be honest, I don't think they get much credit for all the crazy stuff they do. Best Motoring has videos of him talking about testing the then acura legend coupe and twisting the frame and dropping the window on a nurburgring test drive with Honda executives spearheading NSX development at the ring. He also talks about it on his own personal channel and organizes a NSX gathering in Japan every year. All of the official NSX nurburgring lap records were set by Gan-san. I'm sure Senna and Nakajima also tested and gave input, but they were also full time F1 drivers where testing production cars were not their main job.
@@TheCorington I'm not disparaging Kurosawa and Nakajima, just to be clear. I just said that the Honda NSX only started its series production after Senna tested the car and asked for changes to be made to the car. Honda did what Senna asked. Before F1, Senna already had the sensitivity to know the cars on the track and this made a difference throughout his life. Honda saw this in him, so he participated in the development of the car.
People forget gansan doesn't usually wear a race outfit he usually coasts about in loafers and a thick jumper when hammering cars. His driving is so smooth
rest in peace Ayrton Senna.. you're the reason why Honda is who they are today I believe.. you really gave the company at that time something to be proud of Motorsport. your birthday is coming up too
ok please stay on the ground! Dont overestimate things please! Honda is where they are because of their known reliability awesome engineering and awesome price performance. Not because senna drove the nsx and the f1 cars.
@@gaboaaa23 They sure as hell got the exposure they deserved, also they claim that Ayrton gave them the respect they deserved while he was working with them unlike the rest of the people working in F1 as Japan is oriental.
It's perfect recipe.. Ayrton senna, did Honda nsx..F1#Formula Just like Repsol Honda Marc Marquez. Machine n men equal force The power dream,we believe n proud Honda. Japan..
Senna and the NSX, they're both man and machine in such a unique skilled driving exposition showed. The way Senna managed oversteering is such a delight to watch. He's for sure a driving and racing legend. I can't avoid to mention Kurosawa, as he's another master of driving and respected well known star member (Gansan) of BestMotoring, the sports car testing/racing program that in my opinion is one of the best and most entertaining, specially back then in the 80s and 90s series.
I noticed Gan-san follows a constant radius arc whereas Senna chisels the corners up Ving off which is actually faster because there's more straight line braking and straight line accelerating. Senna also bends the car round corners with a sharp steering input on the apex setting the straight lining up. There's also zero delay between coming off the gas and jumping on the brakes, that's F1 for you. I like Gan-san's buttery smooth style which is a product of his era and machinery in a time where you really had to caress the car delicately. But Senna is a ruthless animal behind the wheel and I can see where he snags a lot of time up with the car always on the edge!
These Motoring videos got me absolutely hooked on Honda at 15 years old. I'm pushing 40 now, and love Honda just the same. I'm hoping the true Honda spirit is revitalized somewhat though. Maybe the new Type R will help.
yeh, i noticed this watching another channel - having them side by side it shows Senna, if you didnt know any better, drives like a complete amateur. I saw something that broke down his style and the conclusion was it wasnt fast and would only work in a handfull of cars. But then i guess thats part of the legend, a legend isnt going to fit our idea of how things work.
I prefer Senna's riding style, a style that comes from Kart. His style made a difference in every situation, especially in the rain. Meaningless comparison, Senna was just doing tests to help with the development of the car. The Japanese driver took it seriously, he wanted to be faster than Senna.

Great video!! Sad side: the japanese that looks like as fast as Senna should be an exemple that the japanese drivers are good as any driver from Europe, USA or Brazil. But we still have the same misconception about Japanese drivers caused by Satoru Nakajimas' season in F1.
Quebresil I agree with you, I just don't think he was in the same level as Senna, Senna wasn't even wearing a helmet for him was probably just like lets do a warm up lap.
Agreed, that are some drivers from Japan that are crazy good, like Shinji Nakano, Takuma Sato, Kamui Kobayashi and others, but Satoru Nakajima, Ukyo Katayama, Taki Inoue and Yuji Ide omg 😂 😂 😂
Many Japanese drivers are very talented. However they don’t have the connections to get on the grandstands like many Europeans. They go unrecognized or overlooked.
These two great champions drove my car too. And not an Nsx. Prelude. The second best Honda in the 90s. Also double wishbone front/rear like NSX and S2000. But the car hysterical fanboys completely ignore. Car that won Tsukuba race with GanSan against names like Skyline, Rx7 and others. The best N/A FWD car in Touge events winning 280 class vs S2000 and smashing ITR ,CTR and others. I am talking about Jun Prelude.
Gan san is the best NSX samurai I have ever seen but Senna's skills are just incredible, I don't think the fastest laps from them would be different if both drivers went 1 vs 1 with the NSX, both know how to take the car to its very limit.
You'v got to be kiding..with all respect for the other driver.. No one was ever faster than Senna with equal equipament, maybe Alain Prost in a few ocasions. Take a look on the Mercedes race for f1 stars in 1984..

he was already more than 50 years old in this video. Watch him in s2000 with Senna style ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H5FNEhF3b7I.html
@@MartinEcko yep. There's a video on RU-vid of an amateur driver in a lightly modded early NSX beating Gan-san's laptime on the Nurburgring...on an open track day with traffic!

I think Senna's driving is better suited for F1; in NSX-R, the response is too slow compared to F1. In a production car, Kurosawa-san is much faster and quieter. In a production car, the key is how to control the load fluctuation, and Senna's driving is too rough.
@@karelpipa Very true, maybe he was faster, I mean he was in full racing clothes with helmet and all, Senna was just wearing those hilarious shoes xD but non the less his lap (the japanese) was definitely very good and very smooth and very fast :D
Thats why it says "unmatched sectors" because the track layout is different. This is to bring context to the video. Also this is the closest it could get.
Some guys talking about the senna dressed casuals and did same as the "guy in suit". and The "Guy in suit" did the same style in S2000 test car with open roof in Nurburgring! and giving a commentary how the NEW car going even when the car on 2 wheel after driving on curbs! And GanSan atually doing it with relaxed style. Any one who watching Best mototing series will know what happens this "Oldman" get serious
Kurosawa would have no chance with Senna at all and that's more than obvious. being a factory robot vs being a world champion is something Japanese will never understand...
