-----------------------------
Sennheiser recently introduced their new digital wireless system called AVX. There are various kits available and in this episode I used the kit with the body pack transmitter, receiver, and MKE2 lavalier microphone (their higher-end pro lavalier microphone). We looked at various aspects of the AVX system including how well it does in terms of outdoor distance, dynamic range which Sennheiser touts as preventing clipping distortion when your talent suddenly gets very loud, sound quality of the MKE2 lavalier microphone, latency, rejection of RF and WiFi interference, battery life, and others. Let’s see how it does!
If you’d like to improve your sound recording for film skills, please have a look at our Sound Recording for Video course over at school.learnlig...

Hey Chris! Just found your channel via your "Rode's NEW system. Wireless Pro" video from about 2 months ago. I currently run a single Sennheiser AVX ME-2 that I purchased on sale back in 2017 for $400 (During a B&H sale) and I am looking to purchase another Lav in the event I need multiple lav's or simply as a backup if my AVX stops working during a shoot. Prices for the AVX system have continued to rise and currently run $800 - $1000 as of November 2023 depending on the Lav mic (ME-2 Vs MKE-2). I have been very happy with the AVX system and only ever experienced a single brief interference issue in all my years using it which was remedied by staying away from a particular area outside of a convention center. With the introduction of the new Rode Wireless Pro I have been considering grabbing one of those over a second AVX as I can get 2 more Lav's (for a total of 3 when including my AVX ME-2). I would also have the added benefit of having the AVX which is 1.9 Ghz and the Rode at 2.4 Ghz in the event of interference issues with one frequency, and built in recording all while saving several hundred dollars. Is there something I'm missing? Would you consider doing the same? Side note, all of my other Mic's are Rode so I KNOW they built quality products. (NTG-2, VidMic Pro, NT-USB, VideoMic NTG, NTG4)

Great stuff Curtis. As always. Little surprised by what seemed like a noticeable noise floor on the Rode and a bit on the Senn. but would love a few seconds of silence in future tests. I usually don't pick that up in your studio recordings but maybe I'm just hearing things. Really interesting to see that's there's not too much difference in quality between the two and that the Rode stands up. Just got two sets for work that I haven't even tried yet!;) but definitely a few cool features on the Senn.
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 8 лет назад
+Ray Ortega Hi Ray! I think that noise is actually mostly ambiance on the Sennheiser. My "studio" is the basement and includes a freezer that kicks on from time to time. The RODE Lavalier has a slightly crunchy sound to it (not sure if that's the best way to describe it?) and a bit of a noise floor but works pretty well overall. Nothing a little processing can't help.

When working, this is a nice outfit. I purchased the the Lav outfit with the MKE2 mic. This lasted just one job and then the mic stopped working. It was replaced by Sennheiser. Then I purchased the handheld mic. Unfortunately this had a distinct buzz which was quite visible as a series of horizontal bands in the spectral view of the sound. It also was distorted when I recorded a soprano at about half a metre. The testing was done side by side using an AKG 414 mic and the Lav mic. The dealer took the handheld mic back and has sent it to Sennheiser for checking. After three weeks, no reply. The dealer returned my money as he had heard of these faults with the handheld mic elsewhere. I'm pleased still with the Lav outfit, but quality control appears to be an issue - so buyer beware.

Hey Curtis, loving the revies of pretty much everything! Quick question--what is the best solution for plug and play lav setups in 2021 at a pricepoint of under 1000? I have an FX3 and am a 1 person show, so I"m still looking for the 'best' audio solution!
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 3 года назад
Hi BunnyMuffins, I found the AVX is still a great plug and play option for indoor use. It gets a little messy when outdoors in super-wide-open spaces, but that's a rare use case for most of us. As long as there are walls or buildings in the vicinity, it seems to hold up nicely.
@BunnyMuffins
@BunnyMuffins 3 года назад
@@curtisjudd Thanks so much Curtis! Out of curiosity, is the outdoor performance poor due to the AVX wireless connectivity or is it the MKE2 handling outdoor noise badly? Use case: I wanted to use it for both talking head indoors and vlogging outside
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 3 года назад
@@BunnyMuffins No, I was referring to dropouts at distance. When. you get too much distance between the transmitter and receiver, the signal tends to drop sooner at distance outdoors vs indoors. It should be perfectly fine for vlogging where you generally are not more than a couple of meters from the receiver.

I appreciate the tests between the two. I am looking at the tascam dr60mkii dslr setup and am hunting for a compact xlr receiver setup to keep the camera small and light for walking around and grabbing good voice audio from my talent without dragging cables all over, this senheiser looks like a good fit for this rig, would love to see more wireless setups with these tiny receivers. If only tascam could integrate a wireless receiver into their 60 or 70 recorders for dslr cams!! How great would THAT be!

I have noticed a sound floor on my AVX no matter what adjustments I make. I recorded in a professional studio a few times to rule out ambiance and still noticed it. Not a big deal to post, but I'd rather not if I didn't have to. Nor would I chose to feed into a voice recorder. Just one more piece of equipment to lug around and set up. BTW, that's with either the ME2 or MKE2.

It's a Sony HDR PJ650V. I also use an iPhone 6 Plus. With the Sony, I don't have a noise floor with most of my other mics which includes the Sennheiser G3. The iPhone does with some, and not with others. BTW, I've also noticed a noise floor with the AVX plugged into my Zoom H5.

7 years later, I’m noticing the same noise floor. I’m sending the AVX into the Portacapture X8 and wondering what your recommendation would be Curtis. I’ve settled on the lowest gain on the Transmitter and leaning on the gain in the Tascam but doesn’t this violate gain staging rules?

I think your review kind of contradicts itself. You say that it is higher end and more professional than the Røde Link, but also that it's target audience is people who don't have a dedicated sound mixer. In that instance, why not go with the cheaper option?
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 8 лет назад
The dynamic range, build quality, and MKE2 microphone are all definitely better than RODELink. Being a solo shooter or small crew without a sound guy is still very common, even when there is a budget involved. ENG and documentary filmmaking are two common cases. AVX is well suited for those cases: a solo shooter with a budget. Also AVX is not top end or high budget. That part of the market is mostly owned by Lectrosonics.

I've come to this review rather late but it is possible to get the AVX for around £400 in the UK. I've also got Rodelinks but am tempted to go for an AVX as my main radio kit. For me the question coming through from your review is whether you can record sound and transmit it to the camera to avoid post production. If post production is required then I may as well buy an expensive microphone and plug it into a small handheld recorder. I could even buy the G3 or Rhode Link and plug that in if I want to carry a small unit on me. If on the other hand I can get crisp clear and clean sound every time (or even most times) directly into the camera then that saves me time in post production to edit the video together. It is an interesting question, although I am hesitant to spend that much money to find the answer. Great review as always. All the best.

+Aaron's allotment Aaron, in the outdoor and dynamic range test we recorded into a Panasonic GH4 camera. You might find that interesting: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uUSd_ulXdno.html However, great audio always requires at least a little post-processing. Doesn't have to be a huge time consuming thing, but it almost always at least needs loudness normalization. Best wishes!

Curtis, as always your content is spot on. You are my go-to for all things audio! Thanks for your care. One question, I am seriously considering the AVX system. You mentioned that it can handle 8 systems in the US at once. What I have been trying to figure out is if there is a 1:1 relationship between transmitter and receiver? Would that be 8 transmitters into one receiver? Or would that be 8 complete systems?
@curtisjudd

Hi Zested Foods, thanks! Each transmitter needs a dedicated receiver so that would be 8 receivers for 8 transmitters. Happy recording!

Thank you for doing these videos Curtis. I have made so many of my purchases based on your videos and suggestons. So I am a tad concerned about the AVX and the latency when doing a dual mic shoot. Lets say I am using my 416 as well as an AVX, is that going to throw off my monitoring? Have you done a dual mic test with these yet? Its time to buy my wireless lav set so I am doing my research. Thanks in advance!
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 7 лет назад
Hi Glen, I haven't found the latency to be a big issue in terms of monitoring when working with a wired boom mic and a digital lab like the AVX. The bigger issue may be phase issues due to the fact that the 416 will be farther away from the talent than the AVX. You compound that with the latency of the AVX (roughly 1/2 frame when shooting at 24p) and you will potentially hear some comb filtering. In post, I assume you will drop one of the mics? Or you may need to nudge the AVX clip a bit to get it synced up. I just purchased a Sennheiser G3 UHF lavalier kit and am quite happy with it so far. It does not have the latency issue and also does better when not in line-of-sight of the receiver. The only thing I feel like I've given up choosing the G3 over the AVX is the dynamic range feature. This is the kit I purchased: bhpho.to/2kJmTcF You will, of course, want to confirm and use the model with the correct frequency range for your region. This is the one you'll want if you'll be shooting in the US, but it will differ in other countries.

Curtis, this is a very helpful review, thank you. Please, can you elaborate on the latency .19ms? You said in practise it's a 1/2 frame off at 24 fps. How does one guestimate the issue at other fps? When is the problem discernible? I want to avoid post-editing, plus synchronization is crucial (language learning...ppl looking very closely at lips-to-audio).
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 6 лет назад
Hi TechWhirl, It's the same at faster frame rates - always 19ms. I didn't find it to be a practical issue in my subjective testing.

Curtis Judd so if I’m using a Sennheiser AVX Lav on channel 1 and a boom mic on channel 2(not wireless) I should add 19 ms delay to the boom mic channel so they will both match in Post?
@patrickchase5614
@patrickchase5614 2 года назад
The AVX price is only steep compared to non-professional systems. It's positively cheap compared to "serious" hardware like Audio Ltd, Sony, or Lectrosonics. With that said, I think that the big question is how many people will be willing to spend $1k/channel for the Sennheiser but wouldn't be willing to go to the pro systems at ~$3k/channel, with their direct digital connections, greater range, recorder integration, stronger antenna options, diversity, maybe better preamps, etc. I'm also not convinced of the benefit of the increased dynamic range. The DR of the very best lavs is around 110-115 dB from the rated EIN to saturation (for example the MKE2 EIN is 26 dB and it saturates at 142 dB). A top-notch 24-bit transmitter can faithfully capture everything such a mic can hear using a single fixed gain, provided that you match the TX clipping point to the saturation voltage of the mic (which is easy enough to do IMO. I have a reference card with such "default gains" for every mic I own). You definitely need different gains for different mics, but I think that for all but the very most critical applications you can get into diminishing returns in terms of ISO track quality by riding the gain on a single lav based on what the talent does. Of course Sound Devices now seems to disagree with me in light of the A20-mini with its GainForward design, but I honestly think it's overkill. It would have been good to hear a comparison of the wireless systems with both using the MKE2 or some other top-tier lavalier. The Rode mic does their wireless system a disservice IMO, and swamps any qualities of the electronics. The MKE2 alone is more expensive than the RodeLink.

Love all your reviews. Thank you. Was very close to pulling the trigger on this but then read a review that had me really worried. Someone used two of these for an interview. They said every time the interviewer asked a question, when the other person answered the question the interviewers AVX thought it was the interviewer speaking in a low voice and turned up the gain on his AVX to the point it brought in a lot of room noise. Have you had any experience with this ?
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 4 года назад
Hello The Truth Reviews, I borrowed this for the review and didn't get to use two of them so I'm sure. It is my understanding that the AVX doesn't automatically boost the levels, just helps to prevent clipping so I am surprised to hear this. If you do buy it, I'd recommend you get it from a place which will take returns in case you run into issues. Best wishes!

Hi Y. Zhao, I would match with what you have already due to the latency in the AVX system. If you have an AVX already, add another. If you have a G2, G3, or G4 already, add a G4. They both sound good and having two of the same will save you the grief of out of phase audio.

Might be more work in post to adjust both systems? - Is there a big difference between the ME2 and the MEK 2 microphone? What be your suggestions regarding lavalier mics? Thanks a lot! Till
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 8 лет назад
+Till Brenner Hi Till, Thanks. I think there is an advantage to the AVX in terms of setup time. There's no manual tweaking of frequencies or channels. AVX handles it all automatically and have yet to drop a signal when the talent was in line of sight (no walls between the tx and rx, but people walking in between are ok) and within 50 meters. In terms of post processing, I don't think there'd be a lot more work to edit if you went with the G3 and AVX, especially if you're working with the same lavalier mic. I would probably go for the AVX over the G3 for my work because of the simplicity of setting it up. I generally work in corporate office environments where there's lots of WiFi and other wireless traffic and the AVX held up nicely. I ended up with two of the RODELink kits and it too has held up nicely. There is a difference between the ME2 and MKE2 to my ears. The ME2 often sounds brittle, perhaps a little too bright. The MKE2 is also bright (that's sort of a signature Sennheiser thing), but not brittle - it seems a little better controlled than the ME2. The difference is not huge, but for me, it translates into less post work with the MKE2. I hope that helps and best wishes!

You mention the MKE2 being a little bright. What would your preferred lav be? A DPA or? Will any lav be near in SQ to a boom mic like NTG-3 or Deity D3 Pro. We've discussed the Rode Wireless GO previously, but seeing more tests I'm a little afraid it too easily drops transmission when not in line-of-sight - hoping to film people talking while working and won't be able to control if they turn around from time to time. Perhaps the AVX has a more reliable transmission. Then needing to find a good lav.
@curtisjudd

Hi Henrik, most pro lavalier mics are voiced with a presence boost as they are often hidden under clothing. Once hidden, that presence boost isn't generally a problem. The MKE2 is a great mic. I also really like the Shure Twinplex TL-47 and 48. I also have a DPA 4160 and a Countryman B6. The Voice Technologies VT-500 is also good. Lots of good options out there and we have reviews of each of those except the DPA - just haven't gotten to it. Yes, the AVX is good and slightly more reliable than the Wireless GO.

@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 2 года назад
It depends. AVX is made for videographers and solo filmmakers. Its focus is ease of use. But if you get into a location where there's interference at the 1.9MHz frequency range, there's nothing you can really do to get this working reliably. That's where the G4 has an advantage, you can manually switch to different frequencies. So it depends on how much flexibility vs ease of use you need.

Hi Curtis! Thank you to answer all our questions, this is really valuable for the community! I genuinely have gratitude for what you are doing, it's inspiring. I own 2 AVX + 2 Tram TR50. i have a documentary that i am preparing and want to improve the quality of my sound mixing for broadcasting. When the signal comes out of the AVX receiver, is it still a "mic level" or a "line level" signal? I am confused by what is written just by the 3.5 plug on the transmitter: Mic/line. Does it mean that the AVX is able to carry on either a stereo line signal or a mono mic signal? Then, to enhance the quality of my audio, would it be better to get my signal going through my JuicedLink Riggy-Micro Series or directly into my Sony A7S2 to be recorded? If I do, I would have 2 pre amp back to back, the JuicedLink + the camera, is it recommended? Finally, the other option I am exploring is to invest in a Little DARling Recorder or a second hand Sound Devices 552 to do the sound recording separately from the camera. Does the investment in the SD552 worst it you feel? Thank for your precious experience sharing on this.
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 3 года назад
Hi Toussaint Production, the AVX outputs a line level signal at its highest output setting on the receiver. I don't believe the A7S2's input is switchable between microphone and line level (I'm not sure, haven't used it before). So I think I would just feed the AVX receiver directly into the A7S2's microphone input. Adding preamps probably would not help, but you can do some test recordings to confirm. Adding an SD552 is fine, but it is only a two track recorder so it does not allow you to record more than two tracks. But then again, neither does your camera. But the preamps on the 552 are likely cleaner and nicer sounding than your camera. So I think it comes down to whether you are willing to do a sync sound workflow and sync in post. If you have a dedicated person to operate the 552, then it probably makes sense. If you're operating all of it, it would probably result in fewer mistakes and problems to just record directly to camera.

Hey Curtis, Thanks for all your great content. On forums like JW Sound, wireless lavs using VHF vs the more traditional FM frequencies seem to have a bad reputation (apologies if my terminology is not quite correct I hope you understand what I mean). It seems the general consensus is that most 'pros' wouldn't consider the system because of the compression and auto gain, particularly in the AVX. I've read some users say the auto adjustments are audible and the compression significantly reduces sound quality. Is this a real issue? I am typically a OMB shooter and this seems to be a great solution but not if their is a significant quality penalty.
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 5 лет назад
Hi Jonathan, I like JW Sound Group but take opinions shared there, like any forum, with a grain of salt. In my tests, the AVX is a fine solution for one man bands. The people at JWSG are mostly pro location mixers the make a living by doing location sound and taking pride in delivering the highest quality recordings possible. They need control. They are not OMBs. And they (and me) have a tendency to be audiophiles and can hear things most other people will never notice. In short, my opinion is that AVX can produce great results for OMB operations where riding a fader and tweaking settings is just not an option. I didn’t hear a lot of artifacting in my tests.

A friend highly recommended the Shure Axient system, but I’m not sure I can afford the nearly triple expense per channel. Is the AVX good enough as a stop gap for awhile, or should I try to stretch the budget to just get one Axient with Twin Plex? Will I regret not going for the Axient right away?
@curtisjudd

It depends. If working outdoors a lot, the AVX may not be a great performer. Though it does quite well indoors. Also note that systems like Axient Digital are amazing, but you’ll need to invest a good bit of time learning how to operate it and a bit about RF in general for best results.

thank you. a friend of mine used these for a live show and immediately returned them and used the G3's. been doing a lot of local corporate shoot gigs and number one question they ask is audio. looking to either invest in the Saramonic wireless UW10's someone is selling used for $160. or drop $700 for a single AVX system. feel like I can make due with the Saramonics with some audio editing in post. the Rodelinks are great i think but very bulky to place on a talent or speaker. a few local producers near me suggest using the AVX system especially in cities due to constant drop outs using analogue as a one man video crew... anyways always appreciate your audio information its very helpful now as i'm doing this more fulltime. any thoughts on the new rule that older frequency systems below 600mhz will no longer be allowed in 2019? im guessing that wont affect AVX users? or even Saramonic or G3?' since they run above 600mhz. i hope I got those facts correct. please feel free to correct if I have misinformation.
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 5 лет назад
Hi David, yes, AVX uses the 1.9GHz band so it isn't generally as prone to the same issues as the wireless systems that use the lower frequency blocks. In the US, the 600MHz block is now off limits and you can only use the blocks available below 600MHz. Correct, that will not affect AVX users. You can still use the G3 or Saramonic systems in the 500MHz block. If you're making money shooting, I'd probably go for the G3 or G4 rather than the Saramonic. The Saramonic gear is not as reliable in my personal tests.

Hi Curtis, Have you ever tested the Sennheiser AVX hand-held microphone (as opposed to the Lavs)? ... any views on how good it sounds compared to the MKE2? I'm off to NAB in a couple of weeks to do some 'immersive journalism' interviews with my 360VR rigs and trying to find the easiest (and most reliable) way to do interviews with VR related folks in the middle of a busy booth with lots of noise going on all around. Lavs will of course provide the best solution but you have to attach them to the interviewee .... whereas with the wireless hand-held mike you give it to them and just make sure they're not holding it directly in front of the their mouth. I'm thinking of attaching the AVX receiver to my Zoom H6 for recoding the talent and running a XLR Lav directly into the 6H for recording my questions and a Line-out to one of the VR Cameras to record an onboard scratch track ... then sync in post .... what do you think of that idea? Curtis Judd thanks for getting back to me. Follow up question. When I recorded with both the NTG4+ and AVX I sounds horrible with both imported (they are nested as stereo) but when I make it dual mono from one of the sources it sounds better. Am I doing something wrong?
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 6 лет назад
Hi Arnt, you're not doing anything wrong. This is normal and is what is called phase interference or comb filtering. The two mics are at different distances from the sound source and are affected by different amounts of latency in processing (not by a lot, but enough) so that their waveforms are out of phase from each other. This results in comb filtering or constructive and destructive interference between the two microphones. Normally, you will keep the mic that sounds best and drop the other for the best overall sound. Using two microphones is mainly for redundancy and so that you have options to choose from in post/mixing.

I think this is all a killer combo.... and, if B&H ever does that daily deal again a killer combo that would only cost someone $399 + $9 if they have a iPhone 7, 8 or X. Anyhow, thanks again.... I am looking for making online course on my subject. I have a set of Sennheiser XS EM10 TRUE DIVERSITY RECEIVER, SK20 BODY PACK TRANSMITTER and ME-3EW HEAD WORN MIC. I want to use this mic to record my voice on an android mobile or a computer for recording online courses. is there a way out? Please guide. Thankyou in advance.

Two options for computer: 1) Use an audio interface like the Focusrite 2i2: amzn.to/31DgUIW or 2) if you laptop has a microphone input, you may be able to plug the receiver directly into your computer. Android is a little trickier for me since I don't have one and some apps will recognize an external audio source and others will not. May need to check in with an Android expert. Best wishes!

Whew! Glad we saved you about $650! There is a difference and the ME2 is not horrible, but it is a little too bright (too much high frequency emphasis) for many voices.

@@curtisjudd Good to know! It's weird to me they didn't provide an XLR wireless transmitter with the AVX kit??? I'm worried about it working with, say, the G3 transmitter with its "automatic" syncing and automatic everything else. Seems like it has to be within the AVX system

AVX requires an additional kit (transmitter and receiver) for each microphone. The receiver only receives audio from a single transmitter/mic.

Absolutely, that's the combination I use. As a warning, the one time I've had interference issues with the RODELink is when I was using a COS-11D with it (but as far as I can tell that wasn't the microphone's fault). I used the version with the Sennheiser locking plug: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/606469-REG/Sanken_COS_11D_PT_BK_EW_COS_11XPT_Omnidirectional_Lavalier_Microphone.html/BI/19904/KBID/12941/kw/SAC11WNSETRB/DFF/d10-v2-t1-xSAC11WNSETRB

Does the Rode record to a recorder in the same way the Sennheiser does?
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 6 лет назад
In general yes, but it comes with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm TRS cable so is really meant for recording to a camera or audio recorder with a 3.5mm microphone input. The AVX is more flexible this way as it can, with the included cable, record to a camera or audio recorder with 3.5mm or XLR inputs.

How did you recored into the zoom and can you transmit off of your phone?
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 8 лет назад
+East side Barbell I plugged the receiver into the Zoom. This is really made to record to cameras and audio recorders. It only allows you to transmit from the transmitter that comes with the kit and not from your phone. If you want to record from your phone, I'd recommend the RODE smartLav+ microphone: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3ylyArmnar0.html Or at a lower price, the Aputure A.lav microphone: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tQe9YrwV1BI.html
@curtisjudd
@curtisjudd 8 лет назад
+East side Barbell Oh, that's a separate product, actually two separate products: Lavalier microphones that plug into and record to an iPhone. I tested them briefly when I was at the NAB show and they're very good. They don't transmit wirelessly, they record to your phone. Then when you're done recording, you send the audio recording to your computer and sync the audio up to your video: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1136079-REG/sennheiser_clip_mic_clip_mic_digital.html/BI/19904/KBID/12941/kw/SECMD/DFF/d10-v2-t1-xSECMD

i met a friend recently who is a tv producer and she mentioned that Nikon will be coming out with a blue tooth microphone system and she believes its a game changer. i on the other hand voiced out the limitations of a blue tooth wireless system and we had a big argument. what's your opinion on a wireless audio system that relies on bluetooth? i think the 10m range is already a big nono.
@Eshcole
@Eshcole 8 лет назад
+Roger Chua i know you're not talking to to me but the only thing I wanna say is if the audio system is using Bluetooth 4.0 then the range limit is gonna be closer to 60-100m or at least it can be. It really depends on the quality of the bluetooth system they use and they implement it.

+Roger Chua Is that a consumer system or aimed at the professional market. I looked at Bluetooth solutions (Sony , Panasonic etc) and didn't find the sound quality to be up to standard. It was going to need post production anyway and so I wasn't really saving anything by being able to transmit it directly into the camera. I opted for a wifi handheld sound recorder to wear and hooked a good quality mic up to that. For the money (C£200) I am very pleased.
@RogerChua76
@RogerChua76 8 лет назад
Aaron's allotment i am not sure as the product is not launched yet. i believe they want to target the pro market but it is unlikely we will see a high adoption rate. the new wireless systems launched lately have all been wifi ones. no one is using bluetooth as far as i know. my friend said the sound was acceptable.
@curtisjudd
