Yeah the AVX has been amazing and it’s so incredibly disappointing they never expanded the line, especially to include a phantom power plug-on transmitters! Imagine if they had updated it to USB-C, more modern higher capacity batteries with ground loop isolation, and 32bit float internal recording on all the transmitters.
@@TheTechnoPilot Man I'd settle for 48volt plug in power and usb-c lol. You're right it's incredibly disappointing they left that system to die. Ah well plenty of other options out there.
@@drew_hewitt yep, it’s why I’ve moved away from them to others for my transmitters. This new system I find even less flexible than the G4’s for rigging on anything but a stripped down mirror less body and I find that so annoying.
@@TheTechnoPilotinteresting I'm finding this system to be a lot easier to rig than the G4. And it's range and ease of setup and robustness is amazing it feels solid in your hands like I could have The talent go to somersaults and roll on the ground and I think that TX is not going to break. My favorite thing about this system though is that every EW is compatible so you can go EWDX transmitters into these EWDP receivers and these little receivers are amazing You can mount them anywhere on a camera on a speaker or even use them as a belt pack for all the times you don't need that large half rack unit receiver but when you do need the large half rack you just pair with that and go. Kind of amazing that you can mix and match
Does the EWDP-SKP Plug on transmitter take time code? Can you record with the SKP while the body pack is transmitting to the receiver and then sync in post with time code?
everything advertised works now after the firmware update. However, the sample rate is 46875hz not 48000hz (48khz). Also, the SKP doesn't update the time, all the recorded files come up with 2022 date on them.
Yeah I kind of wish I had USBC on it for continuous power like the receiver does but now that I look at it none of the transmitters do but also their battery life is pretty incredible And the BA70 is pretty incredible very easy to swap and charge and have USB-C chargers for those so I guess it doesn't really need it
In regards to 24 bit or 32 bit there's nothing to select. no low-cut filter. Recorded files came back as recorded in 2022 and some funky khz number instead of 48khz. I hope there's a firmware to fix these issues. I can't understand why are they talking about features that don't exist in the EW-D SKP.
