Amazing product, I'll grab some! 134db of range wow. Can't wait to try with a boom mic wirelessly at 1.9ms it makes sense. For this size I was expecting dual channel tho'... it could've been a Sony URX-P41D killer instantly. Missed opportunity... or patents shenanigans again.
I think this is a major miss for Sennheiser. Idk what they were thinking, creating a bulky single channel receiver like that. The G4s are so much more practical. No internal recording either and the antennas are on the back (apparently fixed as well, but haven't checked to confirm.) This will be less convenient to bring on gigs and not to mention it won't work at all in a sound bag. This is where I think Deity just secured their success with their Theos system if they truly deliver a great product.
The antennas seem to be permanently fixed to the back of the receiver. It'd be imposible to mount them on a sound bag. Looks like Senn is catering more to videographers than sound people with this one.
1:39 "Versitile mounting capabilities..." But, the antennas are on the back and the connectors on the side. That will never fit in my sound bag. It looks like Sennheiser forgot a segment of their users of the EW 100P series.
You mentioned news production and I have to tell you that the receiver doesn't look small enough to attach to the back of a traditional shoulder-mount camera used in ENG production or to put in/clip to a field mixer bag. What are the dimensions of that receiver? My other concern is the magnetic attachment for putting 2 receivers together. What if the Shooter has to run - e.g. keep pace with a politician on the run or in a show like "Cops"? How secure is that magnetic connection in those types of situations?
youre asking for a very specific use set of a very generic product. use a piece of gaff tape when you're jumping over fences with your rig getting that perfect shot of a cop arresting someone on a tv show
looks like a terrible successor - no internal recording, antennas sticking out, single channel receiver like what lol. I think im going to give the new deity these 32 bit dual channel packs
@@cyberman8080 Interesting. I still like the idea, especially since you can put them with the screen up in an audio mixer bag and access the controls, you would just need attachments for a shark fin and you're on your way!
However, my qualms with the EW-DP are that for the size of the receiver, I much prefer it to be dual channel, perhaps on the transmitter end, they should at least give us the ability to put an SD/Micro-SD card and have 32-bit float audio as a backup. It is after all a professional equipment. And I really hate that antenna, I much prefer the AVX system cause of that, but I do understand for UHF antennae like that are required. Hope they will make a great AVX replacement with similar or better latency, dual channel, and 32-bit float audio as a backup.
Is there any specific reason why you are copy/pasting the same comment under every single EW-DP review video which is being released? It feels almost like you are systematicaly scanning for new video reviews to then be the first to place your comment. If you are so dissapointed by the system it makes me wonder why you have still spend so much time and energy in looking up new reviews and post your lines.
EW-D series are the worst money can buy. Our company owns over 20 wireless systems from Sennheiser. Even for breakouts we have to be careful when using Sennheiser digital wireless EW-D. So NO, thank you! We will not downgrade our reliable industry standard G4 into the new "toys"
