Hey z the weird plug on the headphone itself is so that the ground is separated You can still plug the headphones in a dac and the mic in the pc without any issues thats great! I use my dragonfly for the sound and just plug the mic in the back of my pc

These went down to $90 on Massdrop - just noticed today. Just ordered a pair to compare with my SHP9500 headphones. My X2HR for some reason sound hollow compared to the SHP9500. The SHP9500 sounds very full and well balanced. So far the SHP9500 sound the best compared to the MH752 and X2HR. I've probably spent 30-40 hours watching these videos. Now I'm wondering if the X2HR only sounds better if I run it through some sort of DAC/AMP. Using BoomPro mic, have tried the Apple USB C to 3.5mm adapter, as well as a CLIPTHAT USB C to 3.5mm from Amazon (which actually sounds really good to me). I'll let you know how they sound compared to the SHP9500 when it comes in.

Great review i also really like these headphones. I switched from a crappy 50€ Razer Headset so i dont have tons of experience but the PC37X is like night and day compared to the razer

Got the Sennheiser PC360 headset for quite some time and... it took you a while to get to know their gaming headset but glad you got there in the end. Albeit that my PC360 just has a fixed cord. 😎

sadly some of the negatives come with the use, that cheap plastic falls apart in a matter of months (with daily hardcore use), the earpads stitchings stretch open before you know it, and for the love of god DON'T even touch the volume wheel: it will not only loosen until it doesn't dim your volume anymore, but also mess up your right channel turning it off randomly

I have a pair of Sennheiser pc 360 g4me... and they are so great. So many time I have turn my PC on, put them on my head, and forget to turn the music on. They are just so natural to wear, so light, and the sound is "perfect"... In my office I've a pair of Nighthawk, and I think they are less confortable, just to give you an idea (even if they are) ! Ps : Z, I've bought a pair of ultra bright Sennheiser 660s because of you !! Return to the shop after a week... impossible ! But I'm still here ! ; )

Glad you liked them, Z! I managed to get the PC37X with a 20 dollar discount linked through reddit (yep, got them for 100 total) and they should be arriving at my place on Monday. Now I'm really stoked :)

Hopes for a GSP300 review: Rising. Maybe Massdrop will make a GSP3xx? It'd be around 50 bucks. OMG, if their modification would be a detachable cable, I'd buy 2. Edit: Yeah, he did mention their amazing lack of silly lighting near the very end.

Used these for about 1 1/2 -2 years and only changed from them cause I gave them to sibling, who was in dire need of a headset and I upgraded ( Senn. HD58x Jubilee w/ modmic 5). Only Issues arose were occasionally, in a discord chat, if the mic was in the up (muted) position and my music was too loud or certain videos were too loud, my party could hear whatever I was listening to faintly. Another thing, I do feel like I was missing out on a bit of low end and peak loudness at times. As well as there is no break/space?? in the foam headrest for our cranium ridge thing that some people have and that I have grown to love. I absolutely loved mine and will always recommend them for $100+ PC headset.

I like mine but I find them a bit anemic compared to the Hyper X cloud I had, strange. Especially regarding bass. You talked about a cool headset a few months ago, Vokyl Erupt and I'm looking forward for this one. Argon MK3 look great for gaming too, I'd love those bass on Borderlands 3 but the amp it needs scares me :P Not sure it would sound great at all stock on mobo.

Try the newest sennheiser gaming series called GSP. They look like affordable version of HD800/820 for 50$ more than PC37x

Loved the review , and surprised if they sound better than standard ivory 598, would like to know if drop loses some build quality in these or previous X models ?? if yes then build quality of 598 would be better. Anyway would like to get one cause you named my country in the end ;)

Realy happy with mine + gsx1000. Only problem was a rattle on one side then i removed the inner driver protection plastics and problem solved.

These are actually very warm and almost muffled sounding treble with music. These don't come with a 2 to 1 3.5mm adapter, but you can get one cheap enough to use these on game systems, phones etc. that use a standard 3.5mm jack. With game systems like PS4 and XBONE, they aren't very loud. As is with many other headsets, you have to turn the headphone volume up from within the system settings. The volume dial on these should just be turned all the way up, otherwise they aren't loud enough with a game system. If you like loud headphone output for your game systems, this isn't the headset to get. The dark sound is okay with video games, but there isn't a lot of bass present, probably partially due to the semi-open back design. Bottom line, these are okay for gaming, bad for music. The HyperX Cloud, which I also have, is better overall and costs less. The grey/black version, which are branded as the XBONE version, has been $49.99 at Amazon. Those would be a better option for anything using a 3.5mm jack over the PC37X.

Hi I have been watching most of your videos ( fantastic topics ) You unboxed the NAD M10 some time ago are you using it ? I ask because I haven't found a good review of it anywhere on youtube. You could be the first even though the NAD M10 has been out for sometime.

I have older version of this called PC 360 and the only thing I don't like is the volume wheel, which cuts one side at certain positions after some time of use (common problem, not sure if it appplies to these). I tried HD599s and they do not sound better than this and they are super uncomfortable compared to this. I can wear mine the whole day and I never wore something remotely close to this in terms of comfort (except some cheap Philips maybe) PC 360 also had thick rubber cable, which keep straightening up by itself and doesn't pick up noise from clothes, I am worried that this cable will be worse, hardwarecannucks said it picks up a lot of noise.

I've actually did the opposite with the volume knob... put it to min and just use the amp to overpower it

Purchased due to this and a couple other great reviews. HyperX clouds didn't fit my fancy so yeah. I really like being completely wireless but they are too bassy and my own voice is muffled a bit much and is annoying.

What to take for games (cs go) and music? Stopped at 37x and g4me zero. After watching the video (with subtitles, as I am from Russia) about g4me zero, I realized that for music it is better not to take them. Still considered the model 599, but do not know how it is in games. What can you advise?

The genuine Sennheiser Game ONE in black/red is currently $113 on Amazon, and has been no more than $120 for a while. Same exact headphone, nicer black/red color that doesn't look so generic, and faster shipping if you've got Prime.

Hallo, How good or bad are the SteelSeries pro in your opinion?

earpads holes are too small, they are smaller than in HD5xx series. I had them and return them, and bought HD579 which are better in sound and comfort.

im looking to drop some money and get some good headphones for gaming. i want to hear someones footstep 10 minutes before they think about walking. I dont really care if there isnt a mic since i was considering getting a yeti or rode microphone. Does this headset have 7.1 or another form of surround? and any other recommendations for a good headset for gaming?

the connector is the standard for other gaming headsets from sennheiser. its allready too late Zeos. i remember them on my game one from.... 2014 or so? well, now i have the HD 800S ... i dont know why they hate connectors.... but they do. must be like: if you buy our products, you shall use only our cables! and dare you if you try to unplug them!

They look like Sennheiser G4me One. They were fine for gaming but bass sounded like blasting in the basement under you.

hey guys, so I want your opinion on this. Looking for a new headset, mostly not from massdrop, since most of them are unavailable in Europe. I was thinking about buying a hd559 or hd 599 (previous versions like hd598 not availabe) with a modmic 4.0 I mostly play rpg's, action, metroidvania games, like skyrim, dark souls and hollow knight, but also fps games like overwatch I previously owned the hyper x cloud revolver s, but was not as satisfied with them, in terms of comfort (did not like the earpad material) and sound. Would you recommend hd559 or hd599, also compared to my previous headset? Other great recommendations for headsets/headphones under 200 euro's? Any help is appreciated, so thanks in advance for reading.

Based on what you said in the review I would say these are the same headphones like mine Sennheiser G4ME ONE. Except that the ONE's don't have a removable cable at all and are or at least were quite a bit more expensive. One more disadvatage I would add is that the pads and cushions are absolute dust collectors, if you leave them sitting for a week you can vacuum clean them while you clean your room... :D By the way the thing you said by the end, that Sennheiser should sponsor high tier gaming events, they were already doing that with this G4ME series (which includes the ZERO and ONE headphones).

the headset has 2 problems for me: 1) doesnt go as loud as id like (this is game dependent though), 2) theres no game/chat adjustment

Have uppity tried the agk q701? I used to game with that because the sound stage is so large. But I'm wondering if the px37x has a comparable sound stage of if its larger? Im guessing the ST is larger than the Audeze mobius. I feel like thats too narrow for me.

"Pink and green look the same." "Maybe I'm color blind." Yeah I'd say so. Pink and green look nothing alike (unless they are very pale) and those are hard for people who are colorblind. But I do agree, hate those colors for connectors. Why not red and blue or colored and not colored?

Sounds like the pads Sennheiser used decades ago. They were better than the current pads by miles. Anyone know where you can get these Drop pads separately?

The HD 598 is one of those headphones like the M50x that is so frequently recommended (I know Z hates the M50x) that it can be useful to own a pair so you're on the same page as people when they reference it for comparison. I was in the market for a gaming headset and everyone said the Game Ones were basically a HD 598 with a mic so I bought that. I couldn't understand how so many people were recommending the HD 598s based on what I was hearing. They're not bad for gaming as the imaging is rather good, but the sound stage sounded very cramped to me. I don't personally find whether a headphone is open or closed plays much of a role in sound stage at all. In my experience the biggest determining factor is how dynamic a headphone's sound is. I didn't enjoy them very much for music. Vocals sound slightly hard/thin and unnatural, the bass is rather weak and I personally found it a touch sibilant which, along with a fairly tight clamping force, makes them rather fatiguing to wear and listen to. I passed them on to my dad as he needed a headset (well, technically just headphones) and isn't very critical of sound quality. I also have other headphones/headsets I prefer. I missed them though for plugging into my multi effects processor when I practice guitar as they were easy to drive and open backed (a bit cooler in summer and I can hear if someone shouts for me). I tried on one of the other HD 500 series headphones at my work and found them really comfortable, so I bought a pair of HD 598s (it had been bothering me not knowing if the Game One and HD 598s actually did sound alike). The 598s sound a lot better than the Game One. The bass is much more in line with what I perceive as neutral (using HD 600s as my reference), vocals sound more natural and they don't cause me to wince occasionally due to sibilance. They are also way more comfortable than the Game Ones. The moral of the story is: Don't take people's word for it when they state "X is basically the same as Y because reasons" as fact without ever having listened to it themselves. It misled me and I would have been left thinking the HD 598s weren't any good if I hadn't tried them for myself. So if you see someone say something like "These are exactly the same as the Game Ones (or any of the HD 500 series headphones)", don't take their word for it if they haven't compared them.

Has anyone had their mic just stop working. mine died just out of the blue. Never rough and had them for about a year , excellent headset, im back to my hyperx cloud 2 (closed back) and my senheishers were noticeably much better

Can anyone explain why Z is the only person to say the ADx line from audio technica has small soundstage? Literally every othe review or mention talks about huge soundstage!
