Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it? Pain does not exist in this dojo, does it? Defeat does not exist in this dojo, does it? Jaden Smith does not exist in this dojo, does it?
Cobra kai season 2 on youtube premium bringing kreese back was genius. To all the directors, producers, editors, film crew and the stars themselves for making cobra kai series possible. Definally looking forward to cobra kai season 3. The 80s clips and new clips of John kreese is totally awesome.
@@oldscoolgaming6700 , totally agree - instead of telling his students to stand up for themselves the right way and study the opponents body language to see what their intentions were
My theory on why kreese was the way he was: while in vietnam, he showed mercy to an enemy, which could have resulted in the death of a close comrade, which made hom realize showing mercy can get you killed in the real world. Then i guess his teachimgs made him more corrupt, making him a hard-hearted person, and more strict on winning. Update: and it appears my theory was right in a sense.
And in S3 of CK he will team with Terry Silver against Team LaRusso and Lawrence and the winner takes over CK. The stacks are high... I expect in one episode him opening up why he is the way he is, as you said
Way off. Season 3 now finally explains his past. Turns out Kreese was at fault for the death of his fellow green berets. He almost fell in a snake pit with a fight and then finally beat his own commanding officer and showed no mercy. Cobra Kai comes from the fact there were snakes in the pit.
@@CerealKiller5150 I think Kreese became more clever in the years since Karate Kid III and Cobra Kai (the series). He learned that sometimes being more subtle can help you win better than just using sheer brute force.
With respect to Miyagi-san, some of what Kreese states in the movie is 100% correct, with regards to practical applications of self defense. If someone attacks you in the street you do everything in your power, any advantage, to disable or kill the attacker so you can get away or survive.
The problem with Cobra Kai's philosophy isn't its first 2 principles. Striking fast and striking hard are good lessons to apply to life and fighting if you understand them as the need to be assertive and making your mark in life. The problem is with the third principle - which demands that one never shows any mercy.
Kreese was a traumatized war veteran who was using his martial arts academy to avenge his negative experiences in a mismanaged war. A traumatized person cannot be trusted to make sound moral decisions.
@@perfectsplit5515 exactly Vietnam messed up alot of Young Men....due to alot of them being Drafted toward the middle and end of the years of Vietnam.....most likely he was drafted
Martin Kove did such a perfect job of playing John Kreese, I absolutely loved it when Kreese returned in Karate Kid 3. And I loved it when Kreese was the star of Cobra Kai!
I'd love to see a Karate Kid prequel centered on Cobra Kai's origins... in a Vietnam POW camp! Where Reese, captured and utterly broken by torture, discovers a "dark side" of karate and uses it to survive. It's an incomplete thought but I love the idea of a scene re-contextualizing these classic lines of dialogue with a situation much more dire, with the "dojo" being his crappy cell and his first students being fellow POW's. Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it... he asks himself in demoralized, exhausted confusion. They overpower their captors and find a way to rescue. The tradeoff... Reese has sold his soul to regain his freedom... The problem with this movie notion, as is often the case in Hollywood, is the legal obstacles to getting it made; you pretty much need the rights to the original Karate Kid story in order to make a prequel.
You's can heir cobra 🐍 kai karate group sensei Kreese and his creepy criminal stalker buddy plus the hirer of mercenary type people who likely also had corrupt so called law enforcement agency officers 👮 👮 👮 👮 👮 👮 👮 👮 👮 👮 👮 👮 👮
In wake of the Sweep the Leg I am shocked that nobody has tried to make a Cobra Kai spinoff movie where Johnny nad Kreese are the good guys. That HAS to happen!!!
I really wish I grew up with The Karate Kid's Movie Trilogy! Would've gave me a bigger amazing surprise to see it get a modern sequel/revival series on RU-vid then Netflix! :(
This video is awesome. as a die hard karate kid fan and a guy who lived RIGHT next to the south seas apt building in reseda, sanfernando valley los angeles ca, i approve of this video! The enemy deserves NO mercy! =)
Christian Flores Just for starters, he was weak, insecure, always seemed to be afraid, not aware of his surroundings, never " present" . ohh you asked about the villain part. Its been a long time, so if im wrong, sorry, saw nobody answer you and im at least trying. Ok..the way i remember i only saw the first one and it seamed Daniel almost always the one to initiate or instigate a fight..he was careless and coky, & thats why he got so.many ass whoppings. You got beat ONCE. Get to know your oponent. Ok this Johnny guy is the best at his karate dojo.his brain should have said STAY AWAY FROM.HIM. But what does he do? the water shower prank. And he got beat. Johnny was the best at karate Daniel didnt.know any but he though he was better and kept provoking him. And he got beat. Then at tournament he uses that crane kick. I always wondered if that was a real karate kick or ilegal o made up. Never got to research it. Now Miguel used.it. I still think it.looks.ilegal but judges give it a.pass. so for the movies and series sake it was legal. Sorry.i talked about other stuff but yeah i think deep down daniel was the bully. The fact that he got beaten through out the.movie Doesnt make him a victim, it makes him stupid. Thats my five cents. hope i.helped.
Sorry but that's complete horseshit. A dumb narrative that's being pushed around now. The truth is Johnny was just as bullied by Kreese & at home. It was two different philosophies clashing told in 80s style black & white viewpoints
It's true! Johnny tried calling off the fight on the beach, but then Daniel punched him in the face! And then when Johnny and his friends are no longer allowed to fight Daniel till the tournament, Daniel continues to instigate things with them, rather than just minding his own business.
2:25 that scene where Kreese chokes Johnny still scares the shit out of me, even with the addition of cheesy rock tuneage. I get why Johnny is still having PTSD flashbacks about that in COBRA KAI, it is brutal and fucked-up for a Sensei to do that.
Mr Myagi turning the Cobra Kai credo back on Kreese brings a menace to his character that is usually absent,it’s the one time it would’ve made sense to do that and he knows it. That was a great choice. It’s also awesome that Myagi only heard someone give that speech once and it was being said in the background but he had it memorized. It’s like he was waiting for the perfect time to say it. Even though he’s a karate master it’s like he’s using verbal jujutsu or judo
I love Sensei John Kreese, Terry Silver, Mike Barnes and Snake. Their characters are very strong ones. Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith (Kreese and Silver) have especially aged well and I still find them hot looking.
I hope Kreese or Silver make an appearance, but I feel Kreese more or less was a product of his life, a life of survival and possibly incredibly hard things he went through in Vietnam saving many men's lives, such at Terry Silver, but also seeing many more die, an age of hard men with no pain/weakness. I feel if even as a unintended portrait of a PTSD soldier by Martin Kove makes Kreese an excellent villain, as well as a very possible redemption story. For instance, a Miyagi backstory that got Kreese to go through DAV and get VA help in which he becomes second to Johnny, his student now master, (Johnny can't be sensei everyday) and he makes amends to Russo, imagine Russo seeing Kreese and finding out Miyagi reached out and helped this man. Silver imo is an excellent villain that needs to stay a villain.
THEDARKSIDEOFTHEFORCE66 All of you guys are dumb 😂 watch the end of episode ten when Miguel beats the shit out of robby in that tournament Kreese shows up at the dojo, it's pitch black and says "you won you reinstated Cobra kai" that's not the exact words but I'm sure you guys get the general idea
Sensei John Kreese has always been the best, and also Terry Silver and Mike Barnes - not to forget Snake! They have a lot of strengths and they are masters of what they do best.
This video is awesome but what makes it even more awesome is that you uploaded it 12 years ago, long before the “Cobra Kai” resurgence. I would have preferred a different ending to the video but still cool. Great job! 👍
I love how the Vocals kick in just as Kreese hauls that student onto the floor. Awesome vid. Five star rating for an Awesome combination of Rage Against The Machine and The Karate Kid.
There is a new TV series out called Cobra Kai with Ralph Macchio as Daniel-san and William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence and Johnny says that Kreese is dead.
Kreese had the build and a presumed backstory as a character but his application of fighting sux complete ass. Every fight he gets in is exactly the same. Punch, punch, front kick. Or just leads with a punch broke a window so i think ill punch again instead of mixing it up. I was hoping in the last fight on film where he fights Miyagi in the dojo, it would be different but nope, Miyagi puts his ass away as easily as a white belt. Great character, great look for the part, shitty fighting.
Vam The Anomaly not only Kreese was irreversibly upset, but he was also drunk, which probably indicates he hit the bottle pretty hard right after the tournament while the team was changing out and preparing to leave, which maybe the reason for his 'inadequate fighting skills' when he confronted Miyagi.
(Said this on another Karate Kid video and I think its worth repeating here) Kresse was an excellent teacher to troops going into combat where to lose is to lose all. But as far as teaching impressive kids he is a nightmare. Don't know if the person who posted this vid is joking, but Kreese was evil and instilling evil into his students. Karate like football , boxing and other sports is a great way to harden coddled kids and at the same time to teach them sportsmanship, fair play and lessons for life. Kreese is ruining their lives and the lives of all around them for years to come.
