The 1.5 would be the one I'd go for. A former neighbour before I moved had a 65 reg 1.33 (Icon?) in blue and he seemed pleased with it. I think I prefer the Mazda 2 over one of these. They're a bit quicker 0-60 mph.
Yes, the Icon was definitely a trim for 2015-6. The Mazda2 is a very good car, too, I must get one of those on the channel. They do have some which are faster, although they also have a very slow 1.3 model, I think.
CVT - belt drive auto transmission Multi-mode - automated manual (single automated clutch)…a bit like VW DSG. Personally I would choose CVT out of the 2 options. The multi-mode appeared on the Aygo and related models. Tho the latest automatic Aygo uses CVT (at last!). Btw rear seat belt from the roof….is it “Japanese thing”…my Honda is the same. People look and go What? The Honda Fit or Jazz is generally a size up from this and with a more versatile interior….especially from the 3rd gen 2016 onward…..I have one. Easily sit 3 adults in the back and more boot space. More like a size and a half bigger….think HR-V but a bit smaller….same platform.
Quick fire….. Which is best? Friend has the 2018 1.0 fiesta (6spd manual)….still has wind up windows in the back 😮 But in some ways nicer or better than my Honda….fiesta copes with bumps better, it has nicer materials. Much more driver focused. The Honda Jazz/Fit VETEC CVT 1.3 has way more space, and way better access especially at the back. At least 7mpg average more economical. Additional tech……and actually sounds much better than the ford once it hits VETEC. I would still take the Honda. I just like the bigger design, the extra space makes life easier, very easy & stress free to drive-it just glides along….not dissimilar to that Yaris. I don’t want to go down to a smaller car again. ….my gut feeling is this is where all cars are going….low rolling resistance, minimising the energy losses, very clinical, refined, little or zero noise, almost zero effort involved……..I like it, but I don’t think everyone will-especially after a couple of decades driving that other sort of fuel beginning with D & a manual transmission. Totally different experience.
