I know this was five years ago. But there’s a good chance you still have your summit. Because most summit owners keep them forever. I’ve never tried 6S I run 4s it’s plenty. Nice job on your truck!!’n

Thanks Dan! You are 100% correct, I still have the Summit :) I also use to run it om 4S, thats enough. Only tried 6S a couple of times to make it fast as an eRevo :) Today I use an X-Maxx 8S for bashing and Summit only for crawling.

Great video no music sensored esc are the best I have one in an hpi rs4mt and one waiting to go in a hummer the velineon system is nice now that it's a 4 pole (3 capacitors sticking out of esc) but it cogs too much at low rpm

Steve Leahy Thanks! I went with 18/68 here, but during the last year I have been using 20/68 and 4S. It feels good both when bashing and climbing.

Should just get a Revo, man. Summit is Majestic, Revo is the ripper. Summit's Brushed setup complements it more then the Brushless. It's your truck, so you do what you want of course. But personally, I think maybe an upgrade to Dual big brushed motors would have been sweet and so much more Summit-y.
@Nisse977
@Nisse977 7 лет назад
Hi! Well that depends on what you want to use the truck for. What this video shows is not what I usually use it for (which is a bit missleading). I have ha Mamba Monster X 4S Slash 4x4 for bashing, and the Summit mostly for climbing and trailing :) I wanted it to have a brushless sensor-system to get higher efficency = longer runtimes, and some more power when jumping from rock to rock sometimes. It´s perfect for me, I do not want a eRevo, if I wanted that, I would just buy that instead :)

Hi Buddy, I've been undecided on the revo or summit?? Summit just looks so monster truck i just wish they gave it more speed. looks sluggish. Which would you go with? I have a stampede at the moment

I'm thinking about getting the xerun 2600kv motor to put into this, it's a 4268 can size, would it be a direct fit into the summit? Probably a dumb question, but I just wanna know.
@Nisse977
@Nisse977 3 года назад
There is alot of room as you know on this RC-car. If you read my info, you see that my motor is an 4274, which is even bigger than a 4268 motor :)
@NepDouble07

@@Nisse977 Ah, I missed that, well good to know. I just wasn't sure if the mounting holes would work out with the stock motor mount, but seeing as you have that one in there, it should be fine.

Very nice! I just ordered this motor for my Summit with the Hobby wing sensored 1/8 ESC. Are your internals stock? I mean the driveshafts and diffs....did u upgrade those?
@curtisbeattie9786
@curtisbeattie9786 4 года назад
I've done this and the only way a summit with a big brushless set up lasts is to lose your locking diff capabilities and swap in a brushless Revo trans , the stock summit will absolutely not stand up to the power from a brushless motor. Terrible idea waste of money.

Love the video I’m going to get a Summit, but I have a few questions. I seen a bundle deal online for the 7500 mAh battery’s and charger, will it fit the summit? I never had any Traxxas so this will be my first. I will just be running it the dirt and average rc stuff but no jumps and hard core speeds. Do I need to upgrade anything first? And I read online that you need to upgrade to two steering servos, is that a good thing for what I need? Thanks in advance.
@Nisse977
@Nisse977 6 лет назад
Wolverine Hi! The Summit comes with two steering servos, but they are not so strong, and the servosaver is soft. So I have installed stronger servos and stronger all metal servosaver, that is a good upgrade :) Another nice upgrade are to buy lipos, 2s 7500mAh or so. Yes if you buy lipos for the Summit or eRevo, they will fit. I use 7600mAh 2s lipos most of the time. With that type of lipo you will get longer runtimes and more punch in acceleration. I also went with a sensored brushless system, that gave ALOT more power of course, but even if you are not interested in that power, you will get even longer runtimes when going slow, because it is more efficiant than the stock brushed system. As an example, after 2 hours of driving in the woods, trailing and crawling, I came home and checked my batterylevel, it was 65% left in them (two 7600mAh 2s lipos) :) thats amazing!! Another time I went full throttle in snow, they went empty in about 20 minutes :)
@LoganTech98
@LoganTech98 6 лет назад
Thanks for responding. What was the name of the servos you bought? I would buy the 7600mAh but they're out of my price range, (for now lol). One more quick question my summit is $500 out the door and the (2) 7600mAh (sorry I made a mistake last time it’s 7600 not 7500 mAh) with charger is $200 and a battery harness in parallel for $9 so a total of about $724. Is that bad or do you recommend something cheaper? Thanks again.
@Nisse977
@Nisse977 6 лет назад
I use these Gens Ace 2s batteries www.amazon.com/Gens-ace-7600mAh-Battery-Airplane/dp/B01JCT9KCI And for steering I use Turnigy brushless servos (TGY-625BL), these: hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigytm-tgy-625bl-high-torque-bb-ds-mg-servo-21kg-0-13sec-60g.html?___store=en_us As for charger I use the iCharger 406 duo, it´s super good, but expensive.. I do not know if you want a AC or DC charger? The DC chargers are more powerful for what you pay then AC chargers, but they need a DC source to work, so a car battery or a AC/DC powersupply. I would recommend this AC/DC charger because it got 2x 10A ports so you can charge your 2s 7600mAh lipos in 60min or less :) www.hobbyrc.co.uk/skyrc-d100-v2-dual-2x100w-ac-balance-charger?gclid=CjwKCAiA4vbSBRBNEiwAMorER7cFpEJQiQn821jZAG3peqA_TWj7nr1T4hU8jt0GWNMua4oY-jKPARoCHxEQAvD_BwE

Hi! Yes running 6S will break the diffs. Even 4S sometimes break the diffs. But I did this brushless sensored conversion because I wanted more runtime and a little more power when crawling, and I run the 4S batteries 99% of the time, 6S was just for test in this video :)

They are small enough to fit inside the battery compartments. Just have to take out the small black battery retainer clip (Traxxas 5629) Then they fit just fine.
