As someone who has been a counselor for years, I think the question should be why won’t we treat each case as it deserves. Continuing to send a drug abuser to prison instead of a treatment program (even if it’s a correctional facility for drug offenders). We have to stop treating everyone the same. I know it’s a process and requires support from our politicians. Prayers for people like this. 🙏🏽

When someone is forced to do anything, no matter what it is it doesn't last! They always go back to their own ways....he is not even sorry for what he did. He didn't apologize, no remorse, nothing. A mother is always only going to see what little good there is in their child. She will try to intervene and seek help but in the end she will always love them, support them, pray for them and believe that they will change. That is why the burden is put on the court. He will continue to offend and needs to be locked up.

The Judge made a point when telling Mr Miller that he's basically only asking for Rehab because this is the most serious Crime he's committed. All Defendant's seem to ask for Rehab when they're facing Prison time. Mr Adam's is an amazing Man and caring Husband. His Statement to the Judge was awesome. Asking his Wife her thoughts on Sentencing showed me they have a beautiful Marriage. How he held his Wife during this Sentencing brought tears to my eye's. Mr Miller Smirked SEVERAL times during this. His Statement to the Court was Trash. Straight up TRASH. Even Smiling and chuckling. Am I mistaken that I DID NOT hear an Apology to the Adam's? And that he thought he was the Victim? Victim Blaming?

I think he should be sent to prison, then mandatory in-patient rehab afterwards. He’s not accepting responsibility for his actions, drugs can be his crutch, but crimes were committed, so prison should be the consequences.
I despise the time served deduction aspect of any case where a person charged is too much of a danger to society that they are incarcerated until they are actually sentenced. Has never, and will never make sense to me. This is a lieneancy that needs to be dissolved.
Drug treatment only works if the person wants help. If he really wants drug treatment his po can work on getting him that while he is on probation after he serves his time .

Key word being RAISED! He's a 45 year old ADULT MALE ...and you're trying to blame his MOMMY for why HE chose to be a bum/thug. Even if he was raised wrong, at the age of majority the law and society demands that adults be responsible for THEIR OWN ACTIONS. Let's say his mother had taught him to steal, when he was a child. HE, not his MOMMY, would still be responsible for his stealing. We don't live in a vacuum; so even if parents advises their children to steal, there are other ways children are informed that stealing isn't okay. Even children who are taught to steal, know stealing is wrong; as children taught to steal; are aware that the parent teaching them to steal is taking pains to cover up the theft; are taught to be wary of police; are taught by their teachers, school mates, reverends, tv shows and movies ...that stealing is wrong. Therefore, even children not raised right, upon reaching the age of 18, KNOW that stealing is wrong, and are therefore responsible for their own choice to steal. Stop blaming MOTHERS for the actions of ADULTS. Most of the world isn't raised right. If we allow the excuse of not being raised right, then let's lock up parents for their adult children's choices.

Never open the door for strangers, sometimes you get caught of guard. Rehabs does not get you off drugs, rehabs is a place for you to separate yourself from the outer world, meditation about how you wants to turn your life around, make commitment to your inter spirits about what road to take. Looking at him he has some mental problems and need to be institutional lives and evaluated for a period of time, not to set a time but to continue his treatment until he can be put back out in the public. The guy is smiling he has a mental condition, no he is not thinking clearly. The State can't say he was not going to harm anyone because they don't know. I pray the court give him in house treatments
Judge and defense attorney all in one. This Judge needs to be dismissed and disbarred.. Hes a disgrace. This should of been at least a 10 year sentence without a chance for parole.
I feel for the couple.. But also for the mother.. No parent especially mothers want to see their child go in the wrong direction.. She apologized to the couple and understandably wants her son to sincerely get help.. Good luck to the couple and the family of the suspect.. Judge did an excellent job.. The public defender said he didn't do anything, he locked the husband out of the house, what did you think was going to happen if he got the chance to get to the wife. He wasn't attacked. I'd wear sunglasses to cover my eyes if I were his mom also. Hes not a child. Many criminals were on drugs who have done horrific things to people because they didnt recognize their victims as human. He is lucky they were not harmed, but drugs are no excuse. He's not a child. Hes not going to change. He didn't just 'wander' into someone's home. No way, no how. And he didn't slip and fall onto hard drugs. Funny how everyone says Marijuana is not a drug. It's a drug! Just like all drugs. 30-60 days inpatient is not long enough especially for a long time user that has gotten to the point of committing these types of crimes There is programing in prison the inmate has to take advantage of it. Being forced to be sober is going to make him want to get high even more. Pcp is a serious addiction its a danger to the community and when you get to the point of pcp you will use anything to get high if you cant get pcp. His past crimes are violent add the pcp and you get a bomb.
I want to salute all you people who have the restraint with someone who commits a crime like this, to leave something for the police to arrest. I don't have that level of control. That dirt bag would have had a date with the city coroner. That I can promise you.

Prison facilities need to be overhauled to provide treatment. He must be in a locked facility which should be prison WITH treatment. Step up and be the first 10 facilities to offer treatment in prison, in one building. This is a challenge to you to be first. 90 days is not long enough for anything! He needs several years in the prison WITH treatment, only with daily good behavior, only with LIKE inmates. NO probation! WHAT is his JOB? TRAIN for a job in prison. At least 5 years in this organized prison facility. He will come out sober with job skills, placed on probation for 5 years. Stay clean! Community service to help others get clean! Why was he driving in that area for days? FIX the prison problem!
