After an eight-week trial, a jury found Michelle Troconis guilty of conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Jennifer Dulos - a Connecticut mother who went missing after dropping her kids off at school. At the time of Dulos’ disappearance, Troconis was Dulos’ ex-husband’s lover. Troconis faces up to 50 years in prison. Dulos’ body has never been found.

Her sentence was pretty much life 20 years 5 years probation. She will be 63 and a half when she gets out, most people do not make it out alive in there 60s in prison

I couldn't believe my ears when they asked for appeal bond after receiving such a lenient sentence. Did they really think that she would be let out and about while going through the appeal process which could take years? GREED is the word to sum it up. I'm glad the judge shut them up pretty quick.

⁠@@RosarioTayoReedI disagree. She was facing a maximum of 20 years based on the CLASS B felonies the prosecutors charged her with. The fault goes to the prosecutor. A judge is bound by the state’s sentencing guidelines. He gave her the max. If the prosecutor wanted more time they should have made it Class A felony charges.

What I saw on Dateline (I did not watch the whole trial) she had a piece of paper with a timeline written and notes of what she was to say to Law enforcement. I saw the interrogation for that one she claimed she knew nothing. It's hard to accept she lived with and slept with the man and didn't suspect something was wrong. Fortis had a history of targeting wealthy women. The majority of the people who testified for her were people she met after being arrested , and I'm sure her father made substantial donations to the church. I'm confident her Lawyer instructed her what to do in order to present a contrary image of her reflecting positive. The Judge fell for it or he received compensation.

CT is way too lenient on criminals. Ct lawmakers are so concerned with showing how open minded they are, that they neglect the rights of the law abiding citizens. Most CT residents are not in favor of protecting rights of criminals over victims, but the reps do what they want.

Yes they were duped and her appearance in church was like reality tv for some of them. *also she was initially only allowed to go to her lawyer or church after being charged. She would sit there fidgeting and the mother would subtly elbow her to stop. Also found it deplorable that the pastor lied and said she came distraught to church in 2017!! Lie lie lie!!! She didn’t stop foot into that church until 2019/after being charged. Oh and as soon as ankle bracelet came off she didn’t bother with the church. They all made it sound like she she there for 4-5 years!

The piece of paper where there were timeline notes and statements she was supposed to tell Law enforcement ( I didn't watch the whole trial they must have had an explanation for that). On that paper, it was included she was to lie and state he was home when he was not. Afterwards, his Lawyer was at the residence during that time period not Fortis. I did see her interrogation on that one she claimed she knew nothing.

With what she was CONVICTED OF she could have received 50 years per the charges she was convicted of. However, it seems 5 years had to be served concurrently. This means under the sentencing guidelines the Judge could have and should have sentenced her to 45 years! I can’t believe he sentenced her to 1/3 of that amount!! The father if he was alive would have been sentenced to life without parole for the actual murder!

I hate when the victim impact statement day ends up being all about how great the convicted person is. By the time MT’s friends were done speaking, no one is remembering it’s supposed to be about Jennifer and her supporters. Just like when Chris Watts’ parents speeches about Chris overshadowed what Shanann’s family said about her. And they get to go last so that’s what’s in everyone’s heads. There is no justification for the judge not imposing the maximum 20-year sentence (with no suspension) for this heinous crime. She continues to deny her guilt and refuses to disclose the location of Jennifer's body. In some states she would get life in prison for conspiracy to commit first degree murder. That's what she deserves. Judge should not be re-elected.

Her family didn't listen at all to the judge. He made clear how the jury may have considered the evidence. The defence saying it was all based on emotion flies in the face of the judge explaining the role of the court.

Wow, this judge was terrible. He needs to retire or be removed. Half of the trial was him repeating what everyone else said and ranting like he's writing a book. We sat through all that just for him to chicken out and meet them halfway. I will never watch this judge again, no matter who is on trial. She did it. She deserved a maximum sentence.

I really think the whole “church” themed statements were over the top and bit of a stretch. Of course she was playing remorseful and but she was limited in her choice of extracurricular activities within the radius of her apartment. I think “Mishi” regrets being involved with Fotis and her actions, and should have used her morals and better judgement if it didn’t feel right, and come clean with the police early on.

@@InsightlyDigestif I knew I had a murder trial coming in the future, believe me, I'm an atheist but I could March into any church and portray myself as the most saintly christian they have ever met!! It was an absolute stretch but getting to see the worlds most realistic pastor robot was kinda nice. Pity about the audio though, that totally gave it away that he was a robot.

I dont like hearing all of Jennifers friends say how they and their own families have suffered due to taking care of those kids. I get that they are trying to communicate how Michelle affected them but i guarantee those kids feel some quilt about that. I know i would if i kept hearing those words.

I think Michelle is innocent. I once had an ex lover frame me. Some people in this world are incredibly manipulative, especially men with money. I don't think Michelle actually knew Dulos was going to kill his wife or that she knew what was in those bags. I hope she gets the appeal. She definitely got involved with the wrong guy. Sad!

IMO she should have received the maximum sentence and that still wouldn’t have been enough. If she were actually the spiritual person she claims, she would have told authorities where to find JD so her family could properly lay her to rest. She’s not sorry for her involvement. She’s sorry she got caught.
