I remember one time I had a glitched item which talked about Shatterjack. I'd love to plumb games files to find out what it was and who Shatterjack is meant to be!
@@JeremiahEcks777 Isn't Garritt Sherova possessed by Shatterjack? I'm pretty sure it's part of the alien communication ending and join the Sun ending. If I remember correctly. One of the security guards shows a drawing of a rabbit that becomes an inventory item but I wasn't able to trigger this again. Also the demo version has some inventory items that never made it to retail. Actually, the demo is quite different compared to retail release.
@@nightfallalicorn4246 I don't remember Shatterjack being mentioned again past the opening plot thread with the Senator. But you might be right as it's about 24 years since I last played this and it was the last time I did, the game glitched out and gave me that random Shatterjack item. I genuinely can't remember precisely what it was and I can't even remember why I didn't examine it. So was Shatterjack meant to be a bad AI or something that had corrupted Garritt? Seeing as Garritt himself is an AI? I'm loving, genuinely loving hearing from someone who remembers the game and remembers a plot thread I can't!
@@nightfallalicorn4246 Also was that the demo that came on a PS1 disk with a few other games? I remember having that and completing it... well... you start to go fuzzy IIRC as you can only play for ten mins?
@@JeremiahEcks777 Yeah. The demo had Engineering 3. It has quite a number of dialogue endings and more mechanics than retail for that one deck. Most of the faction leaders were there. If I remember correctly. If the player completes all 3 dream sequences and survives the first half, then later investigate alien communication with Suzie. The doctor explains that Shatterjack had took over Garritt body to survive undetected. Since it doesn't emit life signs, the doctor installs something in Garritt to make him seem a normal person. If I remember correct, the alien message says Fish. Fire. Water. When it's actually trying to say Garritt Sherova. I didn't realise until many years later.
