Separating Baby Amaryllis Bulb 

I will do, its currently only got one leaf, but has put a lot of root growth on. I'm expecting it to grow new leaves come spring. At the moment it is dying back to the bulb ready for its dormant period.

I don't think it matters if you keep it inside, though it's always better to do this when the plant is in a dormant stage (so winter, but it can also be a dark, colder room inside)

Yes its survived and grown many more roots. Its only got one leaf now as its dying back for winter, but I think the bulb has maybe doubled in size, although its hard to tell as its underground. I keep all my Amaryllis inside all year as I don't have enough space on my balcony for them, and so far they have flowered every year. I keep them on a sunny windowsill, usually south facing in the cooler months and then east facing in summer. I find that mine loose all their leaves each autumn, but its very dark here in Edinburgh over winter and pretty cold in my flat.

Yes that should be sunny enough for them to flower each year. My sunniest window faces South East and my plants flower every year. So yours should be able to also get enough light to flower.

I live in Toronto and my apartment window is facing north, but my amaryllis flowered very well in winter time.

+Mosh The Monster I'm glad your enjoying my channel. Yes that's the right thing to do, sunflowers can have problems sometimes with weak stems, especially the tallest varieties. To help it grow stronger stems make sure you keep it well fed and with as much sun as possible, also shaking the stems gently will help strengthen them. The wind does this normally, but if your growing them inside shaking them twice a day will help. Also when you put them in a bigger pot make sure you bury the stem up to the lowest leaves. This will make them more stable and also they will grow extra roots out of the buried stem which will cause the stem to thicken.

Ikr, mine is in a 15" pot and I take it out in the summer in a semi shaded location and now it's leaves are at least 2 feet in length. it's become a giant and has 2 baby bulbs I need to separate soon.

Because if we plant it in a big container the plants focus on grow roots and all the energy goes to the roots. They like to stay tight. Few together or alone but in small containers. One inch around the bulb

Usually after a couple of years, it depends on the size of the bulb and the variety. Once the bulb is full size it will normally start produce a new bulb every year or two.
