If the BWCA/State of Minnesota ever has a RU-vid award for chronicling a paddling trip, this one has my vote. Very well done, you captured the experience perfectly.
Thank you Jack for the very nice comment! A photographer's goal is to share their feelings for the subject... it looks like I've succeeded as least to some degree :-)
Went on my first solo and stayed at these same campsites years ago. Brings back lots of memories. We could all use more Native American flute in our lives.
What a stunning aurora to end your trip! Every scratch does tell a story. :) The night photos of your group around the campfire make for one of those good stories. As low as the water was you probably added more scratches too. Successful fishing and the fish fries looked delicious! I always appreciate your fog and sunrise photos too. Thanks for including a map with your campsite!
Went out of Kawishiwi for my first solo and first BWCA trip in June of this year. You previous trips videos of the area were inspiration for my trip. Wonderful photos! Hoping to return to the area next year! Fantastic Aurora photos, I'm jealous!
Fitting video ! I went into Lake One, Oct.1. You guys missed the fire ban. You had far greater fishing success than I ! Water levels were very low, to me, things looked about 3' lower, than the Spring high marks on the rocks. Nice Aurora vid ! Thanks for sharing ! Got cold down below freezing Friday am.
Also, one time we were convinced that there was a stinger of fish in front of that branch in the water. We finally paddled out to find that it was a current over rocks 😂
Sorry the campsite on Boze lake was occupied. My brother in law and I were at this site when you arrived. We were out calling moose. We had talked about what we would have done if it would have been occupied when we arrived the day before. It would be nice if there was another sit on Frond lake. I am sure has happened before.
Small world! Yes, we were really disappointed... wouldn't have been so bad if the Louse River levels hadn't been so low! Please tell me the site was horrible and we would have hated it 🙂
@@HamerNaturePhotos It is a small world. I have followed your videos and beautiful photos for a f3w years now. The campsite was good but like you mentioned the water levels were as low as I have ever seen.
