Nelson Eddy (1901 - 1967) American Baritone
September Song was composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Maxwell Anderson. Introduced by Walter Huston i the 1938 Broadway musical Knickerbocker Holiday which Eddy filmed in 1944.

I love this song! It’s hard to believe that it was Walter Huston who sang it on Broadway. Of course Nelson does it perfectly.

Yes, according to what I read Walter Huston requested they add a song for him if he was to play the elderly governor and this was it!

Also in the 1940’s film it was Charles Coburn who sang it, and he did very well.
