Nah its just that music in general has become so terrible that Nickelback sounds good in comparison

Really good timeless music opens up and reveals more and more things when you scratch the surface and look into the meaning of the lyrics, the way the song is written, the hidden surprises. People hate nickel back because when you try to do that with their music you find nothing beyond the surface.

It's like how everyone shits on something like pineapple on pizza or whatever. They do it cause the internet told them too, not cause they actually hate it.

I always thought it's just kind of a meme. They clearly make some good tunes, they just made one that was so good that it was overplayed to hell - so much so that everyone started to hate it

@@Alistair I remember when Nickelback was huge and the hate was real, even I got in on it bc I was a stupid teenager and wanted to be "cool". Now in retrospect we can enjoy it bc you're right, the overplaying of the music contributed to the hate. But unlike a lot of manufacturered pop acts, Nickelback was a legit band with some great tunes, and Chad Kroger legit figured out a hit making formula (he actually talks about it). They're a bit too polished for my tastes to say I'm a fan, but they have a few songs I legitimately really enjoy

Honestly, for me it was never the voice but always the terrible pop rock sound they had. They sound like a tame version of 2007 green day gone rock on many of their newer stuff. But All the right Reasons is a really good album imo.
