Rather than making big prints of your photos, you might want to consider making small prints. It's been super helpful for me while I work on my next book, I hope it's helpful for you.

I do something similar using visual diaries from an office shop, print out 4x6 or 8x6 use transparent photo corners to stick them in the diary , you can take them In and out playing g around with sequencing.

I've been watching the Greg Halpern course from Magnum and he performs the same exercise with small deck of cut up contact sheet prints.

Love this, Matt! I made a maquette for a project I'm working on and love taping in the working prints in there to get a flow for the feel of a book. It's nice to be able to bring to friends for critiques too. It allows them move things around when viewing it and it's a fun way to interact with the work.

I love making 5x7 prints of the photos I'm considering putting into my books. Nothing like holding a photo in your hand.

Working on a video of the whole home office now that I've been in this spot for a full year! I've been tinkering with different setups all year but I'm pretty happy with where things are right now. Thanks for watching!

I'm currently printing 5 x 7's. First will be a culling process. If I ask someone to help me weed out the weaker images it helps to hand them prints, rather than try to do it online.
@mattdayphoto
@mattdayphoto Год назад
Absolutely. That's a good point, printing a little bit bigger like that is good for culling I think. The detail and the information there is gonna translate much more.

@@mattdayphoto Having watched the video, I agree with you on being able to trouble shoot issues with the processing after printing. I don't have a paper cutter, so it's easier for me to making standard prints 6x4 or 7x5.

@@ChrisWhittenMusic That roto cutter Matt has sure does look nice. I just use a box cutter and a large metal ruler. It's a good low budget solution.

hey man very nice video as always. idk its on me but i heard some glitches in this video, like in 5:51. It's not a big deal but its worth looking on whats happening.
@mattdayphoto

Appreciate that, Luan. I've noticed that on the last couple of videos this week, not sure what the issue is since it's the same workflow I've always done, but lookin' into it!

As always, another great video Matt. Can I ask where you go those magnetic boards from?
@nancycutler5561
@nancycutler5561 Год назад
I bought mine from Home Depot or Lowe’s-they sell galvanized sheets and I bought tiny magnets from Harbor Freight. I think in an older video, Matt linked his to Amazon (but I could be wrong).
