Dj’g back in the day with CD’s, having to purchase a CD for $10-15 each on average.... I say having a subscription or two of these streaming music companies for $10-20 a month is so much better than back in the 90s as a dj!
Thank you so much for this info! I just transferred a playlist from my Spotify account with 459 songs into Tidal, and only 5 failed to transfer. That's awesome!
Its the same thing though, the middleman app works fine I literally watched this vid 5 min ago, subscribed to tidal and already I have the playlists I need from spotify in tidal, just updated serato and now I dont have to spend hours downloading individual songs from youtube for this event in 5 hours. Dont know what all the hate is for?
Yes you have just transfered the playlist data from Tidal to Spotify. This can be done manual but also trough soundiz. BUT your title is Missleasing. If you have a Spotify account you are not able to spin in Serato if you do not have a tidal subscription.
I'm a bit confused. If you have apple music, and or spotify, you would still need Tidal with this hack? Or can you use the "hacK" or workaround to use it with Serato DJ without Tidal being involved?
Yeah still Tidal but you won't need to waste time transferring loads of carefully curated playlists :) Hopefully Apple Music and Spotify will join the party fully at some point!
So this applies to Deezer which I have.....right? I hate to pay for Deezer and Title, but I guess there is no way around that is it?🙄 Just bought a Numark Lite for house parties. Any suggestions?
Question: I bought an SB3 and im glad i did im new to the whole game of DJ! But i have a spotify subscription for a long time and my playlists. So the question is: Do I need to upgrade to Serato DJ PRO and then do that step in the video ? or does it work on serato dj lite? Also, doest it work to export the tracks to an Tidal account while im on the trial of it? and does only exports my main created playlists? If i susbcribe to tidal do I need an Hi-fi or standard account works? Sorry for so many question and thanks for the tips
You can stream with Serato Lite as well so you shouldn't need to move to Pro. Check the Soundiz website for the latest info on the free plan in case anything has changed but yes you should be able to transfer to any of the listed platforms but only one playlist at a time :)
im trying to get started with Serato but I only have Apple Music...please, help! is there a simple way to convert or just use Apple Music with Serato??
Digital DJ Tips hey man love ur help but I don’t get it , why convert Spotify to tidal when u can just use tidal. Your banking on tidal having the song that Spotify has , so why go through the converting ????? Please help
@@boridebrooklyn8300 It's to help you convert your playlists that you have created in Spotify. A lot of people like myself have been using Spotify for years and now that you can use Tidal to stream in Serato, we need an easy way to get our playlist into Tidal. If you have neither Spotify nor Tidal, and want use only one streaming service, then just get Tidal
I'm having trouble transferring my music from Spotify. I'm not seeing my play selection in tidal. I closed tidal to see if that helps but now I don't see the tidal icon in serato
Though it's a tight video some things are not clear: * does this only work with OWN playlists? (I only have to to this with clients that are sending me their requestslists!!!) * should the playlist be 'public'? * same goes for OWN Spotify account (I'm getting them from the client) * is a paid subscription required at Soundizz? Soundiiz wouldn't connect with S'fy. Because of nbr 3 & 4?? I anyhow wasted time........
Yes they have to be your own playlists. What you can do is copy the contents of a playlist that a client has given you, then make a new empty playlist and copy those songs over to it :) Then you can use Soundiiz to transfer!
If you sign up for Tidal and Soundizz and transfer all your songs over to Serato do they stay on there permanently? For instance if I sign up and then in a few months time cancel my subscription because I no longer need to add tracks will the tracks be erased from Serato or will they still be there? Thanks
I use Djay Pro2 because of Spotify integration along with my crates of local music, it's a game changer. Djay simply has more features then Serato so I'll likely stick with what I am using but I do own a Serato Pro license, I've used my Serato when I hook up to other DJ's controllers
I have been using DJAY for Windows since it came out. No issues. Access to all Spotify's music plus whatever is on my external hard drive. This is the future. 5g will change the game.
@@joemartinez8404 Djay Pro 2 is a great starter software but in my opinion it has too many issues compared to a Serato or a rekordbox. Inaccurate looping on some tracks, beatgrid varies between correct and incorrect throughout the track, etc. When Serato got Tidal I finally made the switch and I think it was worth it, not having any of the issues I was having on Djay Pro
Thats cool but most of streaming tracks DO NOT have dj-intros... making them very useful for your corporate parties but not feasible for a club Dj. Thoughts..?
Not really Andy, agreed if you're a club DJ you're probably not going to be leaning heavily on something like Tidal - check out Beatport Link instead, expensive right now bit if it comes down in price it's an interesting prospect
I was gonna try soundizz to transfer playlist from spotify to youtube music but soundizz says they will look at all my spotify and youtube music data, passwords, username so pretty much all my personal information once I click the AGREE TAB???
Well it's up to you whether you're happy with that, if you know of any other services that do the same thing and do that stuff as well feel free to share them here!
I don't think so, I believe is just streaming the content from the Tidal servel. I'll be nice if they are stored on your laptop for "offline" moments like that. I haven't done that but I believe is streamed only.
Do you mean that you can't access the playlist inside Serato DJ Pro? You need to be connected to Tidal when you're trying to access your Tidal playlists within Serato :)
@@digitaldjtips So I tryed again but I was only on the free trial with tidal. Ill have to purchase a subscription. Also I was signed out of my serato DJ pro... which is all weird because I did everything shown in video and the plylists showed up in serato but was unable to play tracks just the playlist name was showing up. Once i get it all setup ill give it another shot (currently moving). Thanks again
Joey, I have a question. I didn't see the kbps column on your serato.. when you do the Tidal playlist trick, How is the music quality in kbps? Is it 320? Or 196 128.. etc?
Not at the moment - offline mode is something we hope will be implemented later on. If your internet dies, the track you're playing will continue to play as it's cached in your hard drive. When it's done though, you need to either reconnect your internet to access Tidal or play music from your hard drive! -Joey
Djay Pro uses Spotify integration already, while you need a internet connection you only need to as long as it takes to load the file, typically 3-5 seconds then its immune from dropouts. I switched to Djay Pro2 months ago and have had numerous gigs from bars to events with zero hassles, to be able to have access to 26 million tracks is amazing. I ofcourse have tons of local music from DJ pools aswell.
What if you update your spotify playlist with a few songs for example, does it automatically transfer over? or do you have to re-transfer all over again?
The point would be not to have to subscribe to another streaming service. I use apple, if I have to subscribe to tidal & serato already is compatible with that streaming service then what’s the point haha? For a few songs that tidal doesn’t have? This would be dope if I didn’t need tidal. Thanks but no thanks
It's handy if you have extensive playlists in your streaming software that you don't want to set up again but yeah hopefully Spotify will get plugged in one day :)
Well one answer would be that you don't, the licensing obviously doesn't cover that or else they wouldn't stop you from recording within the software however an external recorder would get around that problem
I have about 70 house classics (89-93) on a youtube playlist and I can't find many of the tracks anywhere else. This is probably my only option to get them to serato right?... I would love to somehow save them to my computer so that I dont have to stay with tidal forever
@@digitaldjtips This ^ Had a similar issue with finding a jungle track on Spotify and the only option was RU-vid. Dropping a message to the producer on Facebook and within a couple of days he uploaded it to soundcloud so I was able to integrate it onto Serato. I brought his latest tune (back in2017) just to show my gratitude. Give it a try!
Great video, thanks! One challenge I found. My conversion shows successful however; when I click on the play list in Serato, it doesn't show the list I converted, why?
Apple Music if you're talking about the streaming service element that isn't compatible with Serato so you would have to do like we show you in this video - if you mean simply the library management aspect of it then it's pretty similar to how it worked before: support.serato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001208536
I wound't use this long term, I'd use it to move my playlists from a streaming service that isn't supported to one that is. If you're been prepping playlists for years in one app it's well worth it
This is cool and all but damn, gotta pay for ANOTHER service just to use Spotify? Why hasn't Serato just integrated Spotify so we don't have to do all the steps and pay for another music service.
Been Streaming from Tidal onto serato with Tracks converted from spotify on Soundiiz. I recently started buying the tracks that I like on Beatport. I noticed that alooot of the streamed tidal tracks were analyzed at the wrong BPM and Key. For Instance one of the tidal streamed track was analyzed at 75 BPM and key of 2B when on beatport it was acctually at 150 BPM in the key of 9A. Anyone Else notice this problem? I wish there was some way to fix it because I love having the ability to mix with streamed tracks to pracrtice and so that I know which tracks i want to buy. But if im practicing and adding songs into my set analyzed at in the wrong key it dosnt help much.
The BPM change from 75 to 150 isnt really an issue because I know that those BPMS are compatible but the 2B to 9A is alittle concerning. I wonder why it would be doing that? as the streamed track and the purchased one look and sound identical on serato.
Interesting. If Spotify is a streaming service how is it you can capture these songs and use them independent of Spotify. I mean are you format shifting and is this legal?
There's currently no way to play Apple Music in any Dj software, a niche platform called MegaSeg did it for a while, not sure if it still does though - may be worth checking out.
why spending all that money.?? i was using SERATO all my life until i find D-JAY PRO 2 where i just used my Spotify premium plus my music.! SERATO let me know when you and spotify join
What Heck I have to Pay a Monthly Subscription, Just use My Purchased Tracks from Itunes and other Platforms enable to BEAT MATCH after purchasing an APP per Devices to Use?>! What the Hell?
this could deff be useful id love to see Spotify do what tidal did cause in the end paying for tidal when u may only need it for gigs is kind of a deal breaker for me meanwhile apple really needs to bring back draging and dropping music flies because thats really bugging the fuck outta me lol
