While Belgrade is renowned as a top party destination in Europe, it is also a city with a history dating back 7000 years.
What sets Serbia apart is its unique and diverse history, including the Vincha Culture dating back to 5000 BC and the Lepenski Vir civilization spanning from 9500/7200 to 5500 BC, marking the birth of the first European culture. The country boasts stunning natural landscapes like Uvac, and it is home to over 360 thermal springs, with 47 thermal spa locations offering healing and recovery opportunities. Serbians often prefer natural remedies and alternative medicine over modern healthcare systems, with a strong belief in the power of herbs.
In terms of food, Serbia has numerous healthy food stores where one can purchase affordable organic and bio products, as well as package-free raw items. The country also has a rich tradition of herbal medicine, with institutions like the tea pharmacy Josif Pancic and the Institute for the Study of Medicinal Plants, established in 1948. Additionally, Serbia holds historical significance as the birthplace of 16 Roman Emperors, including Constantine the Great, the first Roman emperor to embrace Christianity.
