The Terekh family moved to Serbia from Russia in 2019, seeking a better life. They've found jobs, paid taxes, and say they never made trouble. But now Serbia is threatening to deport them. #russia #serbia #deportation #russianews

I live in this living meme of a country. First, many more have come, where is that 30.000 number from? A rough estimate is 300-400.000 Russians alone since the start of the war. Second, they must leave because certain politians in power, like Vulin, work closely with Russian authorities to hunt them down. Serbia is a mixed place, with both pro-West and pro-Russia sentiments, but certain politians play their part unfortunately. Some Russian anti war activists have also been beaten up, threatened, etc. And Serbia is not a democracy, but neither it is a full fleged dictatorship like Russia, or NK. I like to call it a hybrid democracy-dictatorship, with elements of both.
99.999% off Russian dont need to go,but off course we will be pro Russian when 15% our teritory is occupied by NATO,my family was one who were ethic cleansed by NATO from Kosovo with all 60 000 Serbs who lived in Pristina,ALL
Just like most of the countries, US and UK are also doing the same things with their own immigrants even in a way larger quantities so do not pretend like this only happens here. Serbian political leaders are joke but as so the whole Balkan is. Serbia is occupied country in every way from both East and the West, our decision makers are depending on US, EU and Russian interests since they were washing money on the both sides. Once we become truly independent fair judgment and decisions would be made. Hard working people who are willing to adapt in our society are welcome, those who come here and do not wish to adapt should be asked to leave. This is plain and simple, also if you arrive in Serbia as immigrant you are not able to teach locals about their own politics, you can have your voice in that matter once you become Serbian citizen but until then it is up to us to deal with it.
Serbia sucking up to Putin? This family seems like they want a better life and do more for Serbia than many who live and they had a noble reason to move to a place like Serbia so there doesn't seem to be a single reason as to why not embrace them as Serbians compared to deporting them to the place they moved from in search of a better life.
90% off Russians in Serbia are anti Putin ,Putin got only 10% off votes in Serbia and no one touch them. But you cant spread pro NATO propaganda here where 15% out territory is occupied by NATO
For your info, Serbia is the only country in the world where demonstrations in support of Putin's war were held in February 2022. Not even in Belarus did this occur.
@@valevisa8429 YOu want, there is anti Putin gatherings like every few monhts here ,this guy probably lie what he really does and probably has nothing to do with Ukraine
They can return to Ukraine. Seems like the world doesn’t want them anywhere. If they want this to be different, and the world see them differently, they can go defend Ukraine and from there free their own country!
They lived there for 5 years, integrated, learned the language, raised their son in a serbian environment - 5 out of 11 years of his life he spent in serbia. At that point it is like kicking a random middle class serbian family out
@@straightwarlock5341 This guy probably lie what he really does and probably has nothing to do with Ukraine.THere are lot off vocal anti Putins here and they are not deported
@@straightwarlock5341 then why were they speaking russian? No matter their stay is no longer wanted bye bye . They are not citizens but they are citizens of russia. Bye bye
Are they under house arrest Can't they just get a ticket to country that a russian passport able to travel to without visa ... such as Jordan or Qatar ? .......temporarily
What u dont understand?...Serbia has to obey to big world players.(Usa, Russia, China...Eu)...if any of those asked deportation of citizens we must obey......end of story
Like where? All the best countries with best living standards discriminate against them. They can go to some central asian hellhole, Georgia/Serbia, Turkey... but the west with the #1 living standards is closed off. Which doesn't make sense, wouldn't the West like to support anti-war activists in the first place? If they hate Russia so much, then a brain drain in Russia would be in their interest after all.
It doesn't make much sense. If Serbia wants to get rid of Putin's supporters (to work towards EU integration or whatever reason they may have for it), these people don't seem to like Putin too much (they just said that Russia is not a democracy) so they're not a threat. And if they want to get closer to Russia and hand opponents to Putin, well, this doesn't make sense either because these people don't seem to like Putin much but they're not big activists. Either way they shouldn't be their target, it doesn't make much sense. But of course, administration can be very mysterious, so I'm not sure we'll ever know why...
@@Proud_to_be_SlavWell, I wouldn't generalise, but your comment makes you lower than many Ukrainians. I guess it means you should learn their language.
Not that I'm without sympathy, but what business is it of Radio Free Europe/ Radio Liberty what Serbs do within their own borders? NONE. Right or wrong, this is a rights issue for a particular human family, not a human rights issue. There's a big difference. Good luck and best wishes to them, hopefully they'll find their way to another European nation that is less accomodating to Putin.
@@ThePmfatima What human rights are violated here?Lets talk a little about human rights in Ukraine?Like forcefuly recruiting men to die in comedian war?Or burning 50 people in Odessa?Or using human shields at start of war?Shut up please, you just cry about war and Russia on YT ,go arm yourself and defend your country ,but not on internet.Serbia was bombed illegaly in 1999 but we didnt bitching on internet about that.
Great journalism shows only one side of the story. Show some evidence, documents etc.. speak to officials, hmmm, but nowadays, this is not necessary drive a particular narrative fuck off mainstream media!
Wether they understand it or not they are a security risk just being russian in a neighboring country is now a real security risk because will have to " come and save them" .....
Sorry, but in Serbia it is exactly the opposite - those who are not for Putin pose a risk to Aleksandar Vučić's regime. Serbia secretly prays that Russia wins in Ukraine.
You do have a point. That's why Georgia was pissed about Russian coming in. They weren't welcome. And we all know Putin will say the Russians there are at ridk and must be protected. And they will go there and murder a bunch of citizens there over it.
Dunno what to think about this. Maybe Serbian authorities think more Russians in the country will help a pro-Russian political party gain power there which could jeopardize the country's EU ambitions?
Then they would target Russians who do support Putin, not these people. They don't seem to be political activists and big supporters of Ukraine but they clearly don't like Putin (I mean, the woman openly said that Russia was not democratic).
