She was cheated and was the victim. Perhaps you need to rewatch the Capriati/Serena match at the US Open to refresh your memory. They blatantly cheated Serena throughout the match. It was so obvious, they called Serena and apologized. The reason why we have Hawkeye is directly because of that match.

Nobody can deny her skill or talent. She is the best of the best. But, similar to Djokovic, many people dislike her because of how she acts, how she rages, etc.

She’s amazing, but she’s shown she can be vicious and cruel. To umpires who dare to challenge her, to linespeople who dare to call her out, to her opponents when things don’t go her way. She’s not some goddess walking on earth, she’s one of the most impressive tennis players of all time, but she isn’t always a saint which is why she has so many haters.

In my view, she’s done plenty wrong, has embarrassed herself and the wta on many occasions… one of the reasons I love the wta though is because there is such variety now, and a lot of hungry players willing to go the extra mile, which Serena hasn’t done for a long time. And that’s why she won’t hit courts record, and imho she was fortunate to have beaten Graf. Had Graf stuck it out a few more years then she did, she probably would have gotten a fortunate path to a final and won a couple more too. Serena is a truly talented and certainly among the best players of all time, hands down. I’m just not a big fan of hers. But I’m a big fan of the new generation. My least favorite will always be the extreme grunters like sharapova, azarenka, Williams.

Karsten may have been 203 at the time but he was previously ranked in the 30s. His ranking plummeted because of an injury. Players don't really ever lose their skill. Andrea Petkovic made a final but her opponent was unable to play. Kim Clijsters stepped in. She had been retired for 2 or 3 years. Andrea was top ten. You’re entitled to your opinion. She’s certainly one of the greatest of all time. Her list of accomplishments rival several others. But nobody, including men, even won a golden slam like Graf. That accomplishment will likely never be seen again and for me puts her on top. With Serena right behind her.
