Fedorov's skating ability is unmatched in any period of hockey. He almost looked like he was skating in slow motion when he would accelerate, as he would make two effortless strides and dart past everyone else trying to go as fast as they can. Straight effortless talent. He had one hell of a shot, too, not to mention as a Forward/Center played defense better than most defensemen.

This just reminds me of the days watching the Russian 5. Watching them play was unbelievable. Every time they were on the ice it was like watching a power play. They would skate circles around the other team cycling the puck for 3 or 4 minutes straight. The other teams couldn't touch them. It was unreal I don't think we'll ever see anything like it again in the NHL.

When Sergei Federov retired he was the greatest Russian NHL player of all time. I'm not gonna lookup all his stats but I know he had 484 goals and over 1400 points I'm pretty sure. 3 Stanley Cups, Hart trophy, Selkes trophy, Calder trophy. I'm pretty sure he had at least 1 Art Ross. I not 100% sure if he won the Lester B Pearson when he won the Hart too but imagine so. He would have had several 1st or 2nd team all stars. Just an amazing track record. Didn't know if we'd ever see a Russian match Federovs NHL career but alas came Alexander Ovechkin, played with Federov for a bit as we just watched. Ovechkin has obviously taken away Federov reign as best ever NHL Russian. But now what about Evgeni Malkin? I got Malkin rating higher then Sergei and Malkin still adding to all time totals. Both got 3 Stanley Cups but Malkins gotta have more hardware. Malkins got the big one that Federov didn't win the Conn Smythe. Then Malkin has all the great NHL trophies Hart, Pearson/Ted Lindsay, Calder, Art Ross and has won some of them multiple times I think Malkin might have 1 Rocket Richard but cant say 100% for sure. I think I'd have to go 1) Ovechkin 2) Malkin 3) Federov then fast on Malkins and Federovs tails at number four is 4) Kucherov. Kucherov will definitely end up passing Federov and Malkin as #2 all time best Russian. Nobody is touching Ovie though for a long time if ever. Two highly skilled, very young Russians coming though. Matvei Michkov and Ivan Demidov could both be generational who knows? So Ovechkin, Malkin, Federov, Kucherov in that order for top 4 NHL Russians of ALL time, who do you guys got at #5 all time? What about #6? What about number 7? Whose the next player with a chance to crack those top 4 players?
