My two favourites in one show! Lesley Manville and Anna Chancellor 🥰These were the days of BBC productions at their best - always perfect story choice, first class acting and production.
En RU-vid hace poco tiempo pone películas y series en su idioma original , podría tener en cuenta la cantidad de personas que no manejan el inglés y demás idiomas europeos
I so agree, her father Herbert Howells, was a distinguished composer of Church music. He was also an adjudicator at Musical Festivals , and as schoolchildren we entered many of the classes. One year , in Blackpool which was the biggest of all the festivals, he came into the stage to present trophies and said how thrilled he was to be there at this time as his daughter was dying twice nightly at the beautiful Grand Theatre down the road. ….he was a very imposing man, we all loved him.
@@jackieporter5323 Yes it is! I found it immediately after I messaged you! There is mint copy of Account Rendered. 1957 film on RU-vid. She is the murder victim, yes. Interesting that she has played some not very nice characters - Young Jolyon’s first wife in the 1966 Forsyte Saga, Miss Blacklock in A Murder is Announced , who is the killer. AR is based on a book by Pamela Barrington, a completely forgotten author of detective stories. I managed to order one of her books.
@@58christiansful thank you so much. My grandmother knew quite a lot about the Howells, the story of the son dying at an early age was inspiration for a lot if his church music. As for Ursula she was a superb actress, I loved her as Letitia Blacklock in the Miss Marple episode, she was very good, as were they all.
WOW 😳 there are an AWFUL lot of layers to THIS. It jumps alot. OMG one person 😮😱😲🙄, said something about this BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP UNTENABLE 😭😭😭😭🥵🤪 situation. Of that sociopath, vile pig of a so called Father 😮. O i am one of those children. My heart and soul was destroyed by my family member, who took my innocence. Everything i thought WAS my childhood was, obliterated to a smoldering wreak. My mum was a bitch. I think she new, but because she's such a narcissis, all she cared about was herself. Teachers etc, warned HER, that something wasn't right 😱 with me. I dissociated, it was my way of coping. I couldn't even talk. My whole little body shook, trembling with absolute trauma 😔🥺🤢. My life suxs, OVER, FROM the time it STARTED. I'm the one in my own prison 😮. He is living the life of Riley 😲🥵😭😭😭😭
…… this series’ was made in England, starring English actors’, & actresses’, for sale millions’ of other English speaking countries’, including those of the Commonwealth…………
Get in action fans, let them such TV productions inspire you further on, put them young generations work and start acting. One of the most successful stories is obviously, the Conte of Monte Cristo, but the Alexandre Dumas book is still better than any movie production. You can focus the story on Dumas fate instead, because very interesting. Let them young actors work on new movie projects, such TV entertainment is always very welcomed. Those years back...they used to...waste the time and become annoying on managing the camera, but modern technology instead can let a lot of computer experts work some more, freedom of expression still worths a golden mine friends🎉❤🎉
Yes it is a great story but as I have just read the book I find it is i too t would be disappointing. quickly from one scene to another. Surely more detail would be more of a build up. For example the German maids behaviour and the scene with Louise and her dad it was condensed. If I was the author well it would be disappointing
Aprenda inglês....como você sabe, a série é inglesa, ótimo pretexto pra aprender uma língua muito importante! Se quiser assistir coisas espanholas, por favor, o faça!
@@LISA-gv5yo No meu país falamos espanhol. Me incomoda começar a ver un filme e depois de um tempo descobrir que os atores falam en inglés. Que RU-vid naô ponha eses filmes nas minhas opçaôes
I find the father`s behavior shocking. I would never allow my daughter to play such a role. Stephen Dillane is 23 years older than Emma Griffiths Malin and could actually be her father in real life. I know she was 21 when she played Louise but it just doesn`t feel right. Nowadays, actors often have to prostitute themselves for the screen and they don`t even realize it. After they are through with you in acting school, you are programmed that whatever a role demands, is solely professional. But I don`t believe that that`s true. Most actors are sensitive people who are able to feel their roles very deeply. So how can they distance themselves, from a certain character they are studying and playing, to a healthy extent?
Get real and grow up. These people are professionals and this is not the casting couch, it is a role. Most actors, however sensitive, leave their roles at the theatre or studio. You only have to see actors who played brainy people interviewed to realise they do not absorb much from the characters they play. Good Lord, how could people play Hitler, or any other malevolent character? Are you suggesting actors should just play nice people like themselves? Don't be so silly.
Yeah, it is shocking. Because he is her father and he is crossing sexual boundaries...incest is a terrible thing, shocking for sure. Even seeing actors playing this part is disturbing and upsetting. Understandable that it has upset you. It has happened to many kids, unfortunately. And many never tell, talk or heal from it. Shocking is an understatement. It is never the kids fault, ever.
Too bad that the writing in of sex is already in this 'almost' period drama. I significantly lowers its value. Stopped watching at the second incidence.
