This video emphasizes just how epic this series was. It's almost criminal it was the first round, because I don't think it'll be remembered as much as some of the classic finals and conference finals series, but it should be. Definitely one of the most entertaining series I've ever watched.
GlassMetropolis Thank you good, sir. As a long time Clips fan I'll admit I was a bit dejected to find out we played the Spurs in the 1st round. It was an incredible series that imo made my team much stronger. Nothing but respect for the Spurs from me.
It should have never come down to this. Playoff seeding is wack. Spurs should have played the Grizz in first round and then we could seen a Spurs-Warriors in the semis. I think a healthy Spurs had the best chance to beat the Warriors.
Great video. One of the best series I've ever seen. And CP3's performance in game 7 was very admirable. Just a shame one of these great teams went home in the 1st round.
LandfillAO1 Doc said it best in the post-game... straight up, just 2 teams playing quality basketball for 7 straight games: A perennial underdog versus the defending champs. And yes, it's insane that this is only a first round series.... Just compelling stuff. Nothing but respect for both squads.
LandfillAO1 He was, he only missed like 2 minutes. He did just like Paul pierce in 2008 finals did to get the crowd into it and get the moment on their side when he came back.
+Trent Diamanti Clippers ran out of gas. The side effect of having 6 and a half legit NBA players on a 15 man roster and injuries to Barnes and Big Baby
It's a shame this was first playoff round, and I thought Clippers would have won easily against Rockets after the first 4 games. They deserved it after this fantastic series against probably the best team in NBA in last 15 years. Respect for Paul, true leader and great man. Hope he'll get a ring next year. (Mavs supporter)
I was ecstatic when the Clippers won that Game 7, and that to me was the biggest thing to ever happen on what was already a stacked Saturday of sports with the Kentucky Derby and the Mayweather-Pacquaio fight. Needless to say that game was what I was the most excited to see, and you did a great job summing up this incredible series, especially from someone who did all those Vince Carter videos I watched on RU-vid when I was younger. Well done sir.
cristian spiller As a life long Clipper fan I have respected the Spurs for many years. Best organization in sports for the last 15 years. Best PF ever. Best coach ever. Best scouts ever. I know my Clippers haven't really done anything to earn respect but it's nice to see them get respect from fans of such a great franchise. That felt like way more than a 1st round series.
Excellent job editting. Epic series. Every game was intense except for game 3. The only thing missing from this series was chippiness/a hatred between the teams --- like the 2002 Kings/Lakers series. Hopefully, we get an viscious dog fight of a series between the Warriors and the Clips in the conf finals. Fingers crossed.
homerun pie yum yum In a way I think the lack of that emphasizes just how great this series was. There was no hatred or fighting, just pure, great basketball between 2 great teams who respect the hell out of each other. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
homerun pie yum yum I do think there will be some chippiness in the CF. The Grizzlies and Warriors are the two rivals of this Clippers team and there is a lot of mutual dislike both ways.
This is by far the best playoff series in recent memory. This is a true Battle For Greatness (if you know what i mean). A team looking to breakthrough new height while another team wants to prove to the world that they can still do it. And Doc is right two teams playing basketball and it is a feel good series. Though I wish they meet in the WCF but that said It is one of the best series of all time.
really incredible video. please make a nice-10 minute-video for the playoffs when they end. last years video was great but a longer one would be awesome
It is heartbreaking, disappointing, and embarrassing for the Clippers to have this amazing series vs. the Spurs and a 3-1 lead over the Rockets in the next round just to choke for 3 straight games and get eliminated :(
As a Spurs fan, this series was so heartbreaking. Congrats to the Clippers, they wanted it more than the Spurs did. Sucks that this series had to be in the first round, I believe if the Spurs won the last game of the season vs the Pelicans, they would have went on to be back to back champions. The seeding would have been better and the Spurs wouldn't have played the Clippers first round. the Spurs would have gotten it together because they barely started to get everything together near the end of the season, and had they not played the Clippers first round, they would have got their playoff minds together and been ready for anything. Even if the Spurs would have ran into the Clippers later in the playoffs, I believe they would have been more ready and more on point with their chemistry later in the playoffs. & not to sound like a hater, but the refs were more in favor in the Clippers by far.. Jamal Crawfords HUGE travel in game 6, which would have led to the Spurs to seal the deal. Chris Paul's NUMEROUS push-off fouls against Spurs defenders. & The BS with the shot-clock going off in the last seconds of game 7 while the Spurs were running their play allowing the Clippers to know what the Spurs play was going to look like, and the refs not doing shit about it. Congrats to the Clippers, but I believe the Spurs should have won this series..
Matthew Espinosa thank you. Idk how many times I’ve preached what you wrote but I agree with you 1,000X. Even the year after getting hoe’d by the refs vs okc when Waiters shoved Ginobili as he inbounded the ball. Spurs just have terrible luck with officials since their last chip in 14’. I truly believe the Spurs should’ve been champs in 15’ 16’ and even 17’. Being up 20+ had it not been for Za Spurs we’re going to blow out the Warriors like game 1 of the season opener that they handed them a 29 point loss.
I am a long time clippers fan. For me my finals r this great clippers against the bulls and I think the clippers will take it in 7 games What a finals that will be!!!
1. I hate you right now. Just started what would've been essentially my own version of this. 2. How on earth do you do these so quickly. 3. This was friggen amazing.
My only problem with this otherwise amazing video is that everyone who isn't a Clipper fan doesn't understand just how Tony Brothers robbed the Clippers in Game 5 vs the Thunder in 2014. Not saying the Clippers would've won the Title that year, but they definitely should've been playing the Spurs in the Conference Finals then.
