That is why the viking berserkers had the name they had. They fought with the same feircesome tenacity and often wore bear skins into combat. The similarity was uncanny.
They have incredibly thick hides. So when they fight each other, yeah fur flies, a little blood is drawn...but when they go after us - complete devastation.
@@empirex334not just us but every other animal, seriously I don’t see how any big cat would be able to beat one of these, even if they are the same size as the cat or smaller. They are too powerful and durable for any predator
I used to work at Glacier National Park. There was a restaurant in very small visitor area/ town on the east side. They had a special dumpster just for the grease from the friers so the bears couldn't get in them. They weighed 800 lbs. One morning we walked down from our cabins and it was turned over. A bear came down to get the fat/grease. That's how strong these bears are.
That was a "grease interceptor or trap" my friend. It wasn't built especially for the bears but is a DHEC requirement to keep solids,, grease/oil particles out of the main sewage/septic lines in kitchen & restaurant prep areas. Most are buried but sometimes due to the terrain,, are put on top the ground with a special collection unit picking the used grease up at different intervals. Either way,, it's impressive the bear toppled it,, they are indeed very,, very heavy!
The smaller bear didn’t panic when it got tossed on its back, latched on tight and didn’t let the big one do the rip back and forth movement. His resilience won the day If he gets bigger he will definitely become a menace
I'm fairly glad that there's just my phone and me in peace in my flat...i don't know how small the chances of surviving are fighting a freaking Monster like that
i watched it again after reading some comments. The smaller bear dominated the larger one even though the larger one was on top. The smaller bear continued to bite the ear and neck of the larger bear, using his feet and legs and bites to keep the larger bear from moving much. It's an amazing fight. The smaller bear, fearless and with more endurance and expert tactics, kept his territory. I'm amazed.
I thought the big bear dominated the fight. He put the small bear on his ass and was chomping his neck and face. The small bear had the heart and stamina to endure though.
@@8thaccount535 we didn't watch the same fight then. smaller bear used great defense in the early going, he forced the big one to lung loosely and saw his opportunity to bite his ear as they went to the ground. little bear used phenomenal tactics. and when they were grappling, smaller bear was obviously just as strong. he could throw his weight around just as much as the big guy.
It’s hard to fully grasp how strong these males when they fight each other are but There’s a video online where a brown bear bites down on a guys necks and violently shakes back and forth. The guy was probably a 200 lb guy and it looks like he’s shaking thin air. Absolutely terrifying power these bears possess.
@@flipflop8989 I never understood why anyone would put themselves in that position to be attacked by a bear!? I was watching this guy recently that trains alligators. He made it very clear that, "these alligators are not 'tamed' they are trained, there's a difference." In other words they have learned to trust him instinctively bc he feeds them but they are who they are & will eat him at an opportunistic moment if it's presented.
The man who filmed this was killed by one of these bears, one he called Ollie, he played dead and the bear left, but came back and killed and ate him and his girlfriend, Timothy Treadwell was his name, he lived with these bear, got as close to them as a person gets to another person, he had good intentions, to show people and bear can coexist, but still very foolish, and his foolishness cost him his life.
Amazing ... The small bear is the dominant one. Complete confidence. Got on his back, and didn't panic. Just waited for a recovery opening, and then took his position back. Beautiful.
Absolutely, when he got on his back and lost his grip on his bite and the big one had a bite hold on the back of his neck, I thought he was toast, he certainly has the alpha attitude and had the big guy backing off, a no quit attitude will win a lot of things in life
@@deanfirnatine7814 You don't understand. He humiliated the smaller one and let him go. Bears, cats of the same species don't kill each other, they fight for fun
The fact the idiot filming this continued to play his dangerous little games with them treating them like puppy dogs and really decided he wanted to bring his girlfriend with him and lie to her about how safe the bears were and refuse even basic protection gear like electric fence around their tent or bear spray until he got both himself and his girlfriend eaten alive by these bears even after witnessing their power I feel so sorry for amiee no sympathy for treadwell
I saw a huge bear fight in about 2010 or so. We were on a Lindblad/National Geographic cruise on a small ship that could get deeper in the fiords than the big party boats. There was a huge whale carcass along the shore with a bear feeding on it. Soon another huge bear came walking out of the Forrest and slowly walked around the carcass until he was facing the first bear. They faced off and would swipe at one another sending plumes of water into the air. Eventually, the first bear started backing off as the second bear advanced. Ultimately, the first bear swam around the carcass to the far side, fed for a minute and walked off into the forrest. All whale carcasses are required to be inspected by some sort of Alaskan ranger. The ranger visited our ship and said that, when got work of the carcass some time back, he drove his boat over to it and got out to inspect it. As he walked close to it, a brown bear popped up out of the carcass. The Ranger sprinted back to his boat and got the hell out of there. LOL
It was funny that Lewis and Clark discounted the rumors of the grizzly; "The size of an ox with great teeth and claws, ungodly strength and able to withstand multiple hits from a gun." They thought they could not possibly be that bad and it was all just a tall tale. Then when they encountered them up close, they found that they were even WORSE than the rumors they had heard.
Amazing how the bear spreads it's legs out when it gets the other is on its back. They somewhat have an understanding of center of gravity and weight dispersal.
Most humans learned many grapple tactics from bears because of this. Most predators take advantage of there sharp teeth/claws to tear something apart, but with another bear those advantages are gone. They probably had to figure out another dominating way to fight other bears to keep territory. Really interesting stuff
Everyone seems to be commenting on the smaller bears fighting capability while the bigger bear seems to have done more blows and had the better fighting technique, although the bigger bear backed down, he seemed to have gotten the best of the fight.
Big bear old and missing some teeth or something because he keep losing its grip when he shouldn't be and smaller bear bit the crap outta its ear winning the stand off
Nah, to have the weight advantage, instigate a fight, and back down is what an utter loser is. The bigger bear was able to pin the smaller one down, but his bite game was terrible. While the small one instantly locked on to his head with its teeth, he was doing nothing but grappling. It had to retreat from the pain of several bites to the head. It seemed inexperienced in that regard.
like dead ass this is legit the funniest animal fight I’ve ever seen not even cuz he shitted him slef but cuz they actually have combat skills like wtf dude🤣💀
@@RussianBear42069 little known fact, this is sort of the reason a pin is a win. Not bears exactly. But on ancient battle fields if you didn't have a weapon, you could pin the other man and bite his throat. It's how a lot of animals kill.
@@dominiquebrown2890 i was just about to mention that. Perhaps if it was flipping trucks that might portray the strength better than going up against on object of almost equal strength.
@@mahmutsala4523 Lol its old news. Im from Canada though so its a well known story. I think he got eaten up in alaska or in BC. Dummy and his girlfriend set up their campsite right on a bear trail. Big mean bear ate them both and their final moments of pain were all caught on recording when the girlfriend called the police. You just hear The boyfriends screams of pain and horror as he is being devoured. Ive heard the original tape, there is one on youtube but its FAKE.
@@8JFJK8 yes, now I'm really into it. Was looking for the tape the last 20 minutes, but was only able to find the fake one you mentioned. Seems like the original, which should be six minutes long, got lost. What a f up way to go. But you're right, camping on a bear trail is something bloody stupid 🤣
I love how the smaller bear bit the bigger bear's ear and held on so the bigger bear couldn't bite him back for a while. Brilliant tactic from the smaller bear!
@@stephenscheel129 Exactly. Mike Tyson in mma if someone takes him down lol. Then he gets up, and it's lights out combo after you go to grab your missing ear
Takes a dump and then knocks you down onto it. Bear probably smells like shit now. Everytime that bear smells himself he's going to have to remember being forced to lay in another bear's shit
This was one of the best wrestling matches I’ve ever seen. That little dude put up one hell of a fight and didn’t back down. If he’s still out there. I bet your still kickin ass
He started winning after that. The smaller bear had the upper hand for a second but only because the Big Bear was thinking about having to take a crap.
@@milwaukeebrewers6337 are you dumb? the idea of how to design a plane came from birds but that doesn't mean that you should grow a fucking beak and start pecking at the ground for worms. just because something is similar and you adapt an idea from it doesn't mean you need to go 100% on it. www.smithsonianmag.com/innovation/when-animals-inspire-inventions-59895396/ here is an entire article by the smithsonian that literally talks about this very thing. We invented wrestling/certain techniques through watching animals.. Wrestling is actually also the oldest form of a sport in which you fight without a weapon, so its been around for a pretty damn long time. The Egyptians wrestled, and they were as old to the romans as the romans are to us.
I don’t know if he won, lucky that he survived. Beginning of the fight I was thinking old small grandpa bear has gotta go, but he said no way! Had big guy by his ear and about tore whole face off.
It is remarkable how they naturally seem to know how to shift their weight for an advantage. I thought when they locked jaws they bigger bear was going to rip half the face off the smaller bead with that head twist. But I noticed when the smaller bear was on his back he had clamped down on big bears face too, which didn’t allow the bigger bear to do a full rip move. He really limited the big bears freedom of head movement.
For real though, like these guys are executing some high level grappling skills. Big bear manages to get the takedown with a Uchi Mata, smaller bear mannages to recover guard, bigger bear then proceeds to work his way past the guard into side control, smaller bear manages to get his base back under him. Im just dumbfounded that theyre using all techniques that we learn in JiuJitsu.
They have existed way longer than we have we have done nothing special. The laws of nature are used whether we categorize them in a way we can understand or not. We are being warmed by a ball of plasma so unbelievably massive that it is almost undescribable and normal terms how much energy is needed to produce that. Gravity is gravity and an animal that is used to tearing things apart would know how to use its weight in order to throw things around. If you think this is impressive imagine what it will do in order to rip a tree in half when it smells it's full of grubs. Imagine the many angles that knows how to latch on to somethings neck in order to break it.
@@crimsonfox87fluxule62 yeah its all in their dna,all they have done since 100.000s of years is be a bear all life and do bear things.they are all pure bred all the way, only the best survives and it shows.
The thought of one of these beasts attacking a human is just wrong. Their size and sheer strength is incredible. Such an encounter would last until the first strike.
And yet for thousands of years before bows and tens of thousands of years before firearms Humans hunted every animal on the Earth with nothing more than a sharpened stick. These animals are amazing and demand respect but lets not go into fantasy land here.
1:19 incredibly slick takedown, but the other bear had a pretty damn good guard game. I also like to think they probably stopped because one said "Hang on, time out. We're rolling in my own shit right now, let's call it a draw and hit the showers."
the reality is that adrenaline masks pain from those nasty bites until they part for a second and the pain tells them do you really want to continue for more pain ? and they answer No, i don't like pain.
its not how you start its how you finish. the smaller bear was walking the larger bear down in the end. that is telling you that the larger bear lost this fight
It's amazing that there are people out there who've watched this video and still think that there are large cats that can take on one of these and win.
After watching the video a couple times. I can tell that the younger smaller bear. Has much larger muscle mass. He was literally flexing on the larger bear. If you look close enough the defined muscle mass, shows through the fur.
Well the person filming this found out the hard way after trying to treat wildl bears like puppy dogs and convincing himself he had some kind of bond with them him and his girlfriend were eaten alive by them
@@IAmJeff7 you obviously didn’t watch any of the footage and how this guy became obsessed to the point where he disregarded not only his own safety but the safety of others, where he constantly violated National park rules and restrictions including harassment of wildlife! There is nothing wrong with observing wildlife in its natural habitat as long as you do it at a responsible and respectful distance, following the guidelines of those that know better, he ignored and interfered with the natural process of what these animals do before the onset of winter and stayed in the park at a time where they are trying to gain and store body fat prior to hibernation, where food is scarce and they become increasingly aggressive, but worst of all believing he had a anthropomorphic connection with these bears! Treadwell and his partner Amie Huguenard paid a terrible price for their ignorance, the first in the parks over 90 year history! Don’t understand much….do y’all?
Imagine how this must have been back when full size cave bears were still a thing. Two of those locked in combat, rocking and rolling could destroy a whole village.
The explosive power and speed for a creature this massive is terrifying. Just big hulking mounds of muscle, teeth and claws. They move so much faster then you would think.
