@Black Widow I have been going to a salon every other week for years, I tried natural hair for 2 years, it wasn’t for me. I’ve had a relaxer since I was 12 years old, except for the 2 years I went natural. Everyone does what’s best for them!

This must've been what my stylist saw👀 when she just met my hair . She even said that she's surprised that I didn't go back to a relaxer. I told her, it's because my hair is the healthiest it's been since I was a little girl.

You just like my daughter. She say mammie as long as you're on this earth and can do my hair please help. Hair is so much work every month I'm re-doing her hair she have braids in it just because it easy to manage and she would have to wake up an hour earlier for me to fix her hair for her to go to school.

My hair is exactly like this - thick, dense and long! I love it. I'm the queen of sections. Lol If a stylist starts blowing drying before sectioning, I'll stop ✋them in their tracks. And, be sure to apply the detangler to all of my strands not just the top hairs.

I love seeing hair like mine represented. I stopped going to salons because they couldn't handle it. Especially with applying heat. My hair never felt completely dry (as if they got tired, ) I learned to manage it at home and I only press it twice a year now and put the "extra" I used to have to pay towards quality products and a good regimen. There's no feeling quite weird like walking into a salon or braiding shop and after 1 look they immediately say "oh that's gonna be $50-60 extra than the posted price" but they do subpar work. Excellent job stylist

I have natural thick hair even when it had a relaxer is in it. I was wondering if ur stylist asks you if you want to put chemicals in your natura hair l to make it more manageable. I have said no to relaxers,hair dye,tex laser, and a certain treatment that I was told is just a protein treatment.🙄 how do you handle that?

I don’t know if you have textured hair or not but if you are, you should try a salon that specializes in natural hair as they won’t charge extra for thick hair because it’s expected. Therefore prices are set.

Oh Yeah,I know back in the 80's and early 90's my mother use to use the Iron on my hair or send me to the Beauty Schools and they would say.."Why dont I get a Relaxer" or "My Hair was soo thick".Made me feel bad and embarrassed.😔But now I keep my Hair Natural Short in a Afro!!No Mo Salons for Me I would be paying Extra Absolutely!!

When my son learned to talk he would ask where his curly hair has gone. I told him he never had curly hair, he would answer, yes when I had brown skin I had curly hair ( in his baby talk). He kept this up until he was about four. We are white. Even now, when he’s 14 he wishes he could grow an Afro and if he sees anyone with a big Afro he says, aw how cool is that I’m jealous 😂

It always amazes me when stylist use the paddle brushes with the balls at the end lol. Those brushes are the devil to me lol my hair some how gets caught in them but stylist makes then look so easy to handle

I always wonder that. I bought the Aveda wooden paddle brush and that won't go through my hair , but hairstylist use it with ease. I just don't know how🤷🏽‍♀️

I could be wrong but the pink one she has looks like a Wet brush! Those are made specifically for wet hair and they are really easy on the hair.

Low density hair is more work because you need all of these texturising sprays to get a slight chance of volume and it doesn't hold it's shape very well compared to thiccccccc hair.

@@JazzyB9481 Yes it is lots of work. My daughter's hair is super dense to the bra strap. I have to use the bathtub spout to get enough pressure to get to her scalp and then wash three times, use a ton of conditioner..I understand what you mean. It's like doing 5 heads at once.
