As a 37 years old man who is just now seeing the grace of God, this is very hard to listen to and accept (knowing that it’s hard to accept because of my pride). However, that’s how you know he’s teaching the true Word. Not for one second have I ever thought God is supposed to make me feel good all the time. A pastor that always makes you feel good is clearly twisting the word of God.

My brother in Christ, I'm 34 and I am just like you. However be of good cheer. Jesus spent 3 years with disciples to empty them of everything they had, so in the appointed time they can be instantly filled with his holy spirit. We must exhaust all our hopes in the flesh, so that we can be of use to God.

Don't be offended. When I listen to the sermons I use to listen to I see it was only by the grace of God that they were used in anyway to do something in me. And I thank God for His grace. So many people stay lost in those sermons. Because ultimately it's not the sermon (good or bad) that saves our lives. It's God who saves our lives. But that doesn't make it okay for the pastors to preach faulty. Just like the bad parent who winds up with a godly, law abiding citizen for a child. You wouldn't defend bad parenting because the outcome worked.

I was trying so hard to explain the gospel to my fiance yesterday on our way home from church. She just kept saying but all these pastors say if you do this you're going to hell All these pastors say there's so many Christians that it will be going to hell and all these pastors say this and all these pastors say that. I tried explain to her that I don't care what they said The gospel is the good news I went the good news says there's no one is worthy not one but through God's sacrifice of his son if we believe he died and was resurrected for us then that's what it takes to get into heaven nothing we do nothing we don't do but what we believe. She just couldn't get it the way I explained to her she felt like I was talking down to her telling her things she already knows and that I was treating her like she was dumb. She kept saying I've read it I've read it it says we will be judged for our actions and the things we done that all shall be judged and I couldn't find the words to explain what the good news was and away that she could understand. I cannot wait for her to get home from work so she could hear it from you thank you for this in death explanation of salvation and sanctification I cannot wait to share it with my loved ones Amen

What shall we say then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace should increase? By no means! We died to sin, how can we live in it any longer... Also... If we continually keep on sinning after receiving knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left... but only an expectation of judgement and of raginging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Brothers, we cannot LIVE in the comfort of our sin...

This is in Hebrews, the knowledge of the truth that they received was that Jesus died for their sins and rose for their justification. I believe this was speaking to hebrews, who were continuing to trust in their own righteousness through the law. Instead of trusting God to justify the wicked through, the death burial and resurrection of Christ. Sin is the transgression of the law, Under the law, no one would be saved, because everyone is a lawbreaker., transgressor , And to fall short, and any part of the law ,you are guilty of all. If you try to live by the law for your salvation you are trusting in your own performance which is filthy rags. We have a righteousness not our own, a righteousness, which comes through faith in Christ. We all sin every day, willingly, and unwillingly. Do the best you can, but only Christ, dying for our sins, being in tomb, and being raised from the dead, is the gospel that now saves us. God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, having forgiven us ALL our trespasses. This is the way I understand it.
@myalaynaangel
@myalaynaangel Год назад
@Rubytuby it is talking about willfull unrepented sin. People who claim to love God but have unrepented hearts. You cannot rely on your own righteousness no... but you still need to obey God. I can't live an active impure life (sleeping around, stealing, homosexualty etc) and then say ... oh I trust God so I now have a license to sin... I don't think that is what he is saying... like you said... we all sin willfully and unknowingly so thank GOD for grace.... however if I have no regard to the things of Christ... no you are not on the nartow road. It's not about acting right but having God's heart to love what he loves and hate what he hates.

Did no one else see the part of the sermon where Voddie points out of you think you aren’t sinning, you probably still have pride and self-righteous? The Holy Spirit convicts people of sin. Jesus came to free people (of sin), not condemn them (John 3:16). Anyone who has read the Bible knows Paul can be whiny and sexist. We all sin, but Gnostic box checkers have a harder time seeing their sin.

"I feel guilty. I wanna rededicate my life. That makes me wanna spit!" Perfectly said...Arminian fundamental Baptism in a nutshell. Walk an aisle, sign a card, ask Jesus into your heart (as if He wants to be there in the first place). You can walk down the aisle, sign that card, and even ask Jesus into your heart, all without ever repenting of your sins. And all of those things, or any combination thereof, will do you no good whatsoever outside of true repentance. The Old Testament prophets called for repentance, as did John the Baptist, the apostles, and, of course, Jesus Himself. Our Savior called the seven churches in Revelation to repent, not ask Him into their hearts. Anyone who tells you to ask Jesus into your heart as a means of salvation is lying to you, willfully or not.

I can’t understand how people interpret the Bible after the custom of men. Instead of allowing the Bible to interpret itself with the other scriptures and considering the context it is in. Jesus Christ was the atonement for our sins, but in order to for us to receive that atonement, a man must do what Jesus teaches. Jesus said to repent just as the forerunner came preaching as God commanded him. Repentance doesn’t just mean I’m sorry, but a person must show forth the fruit of repentance by turning away from their sin(s) as they come into the knowledge of the Truth of God’s Word. This is how we go on unto perfection. Jesus to us to perfect, just as our Father in heaven is perfect. We are to be Holy, just as God is Holy he says. Jesus came to free us from sin, not to continue in sin, thinking that grace shall abound. We can’t do this own our own power, but it’s done through the power of the Holy Ghost who works within us to help us to come to perfection and holiness. This is the power that has been given to us to become sons of God. We can not trample the blood of Jesus the Bible says. Meaning continuing to sin after you have came into the knowledge of the Truth. The Bible says if you do there remain no more sacrifice of sin. The tells us Jesus came to free us from sin, how are we free from sin if we continue to walk in known sin. Whom the Son set free is free indeed. We must be imitators of Christ. We too must doers of the Word and not hearers only deceiving ourselves.

If all of this is true, and I think it is, I've been taught wrong for most of my life. How many alter calls have I participated in where the pastor preacher encourages the flock to rededicate themselves...to get back on track...but they couldn't have all been wrong...no...I would like to think that maybe I just understood it wrong...some did say turn away from your sins... repent and be blessed...ask for forgiveness. Maybe it's just the way Voddie puts it that makes it more clear...or maybe it's where I am in my life...I don't know...but oh how many times have I "rededicated my life " only to never truly change my heart/ renew my mind. Maybe this is why I could sit in church and still think about suicide, or feel worse than how I felt before I got there. Maybe this explains the sadness and frustration and anger and bitterness and not so great disposition in spite of "doing the right thing"...They said if you do this, then God will do this...well...in many cases, those things didn't happen and I believed I was not loved by God, that nothing I did really mattered. How many times have I wondered what the whole point of abstaining from this or that if bad things were still gonna happen and the fog/ heaviness would still be there? How many times... :-(

We are not always faithful but God is ALWAYS faithful and the fact that this sermon has reached our ears is His faithfulness to our ‘seeking’ “I love those who love me, and those who diligently seek me will find me. Proverbs 8:17 But from there, you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29 So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Luke 11:9-10 ‘You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

A Christian can and does sin. Repent and Jesus will forgive. Scripture teaches us that if you continue in sin He will take His hand off you. If one knowingly is sinning and has no desire to repent, no crying out to God to change them, How can they be a Christian?

At about 31 minutes into this sermon, he’s talking about if a person could be a Christian if…. Please keep in mind folks after you come to Christ. You don’t keep stealing from your boss. You don’t keep committing adultery. You don’t keep coveting and being greedy about worldly things. I’ll give you an example and I’m talking about my life. I was a liar thief, an adulterer, I was narcissistic, I was ultraviolent, I was evil, I was narcissistic, I was in the Marines for reasons that you couldn’t understand,, I practice witchcraft, I literally did spells on people, I was destructive to my own body, I had a level of pride that most people can’t even understand because it’s so sickly gross. I was demeaning, I lived in abominable life like you can’t understand. If you think you can guess what an abominable life is. I was much worse than you can imagine. And give you an example of how evil of a person I was when I thought I was a Christian. And I wasn’t really saved. I actually stole money from a blind woman in a wheelchair so I can buy cigarettes. I was a drug addict, I was an alcoholic I smoke cigarettes, I did other things that ended me up in federal prison two times. I sent all of this so you understand my message.-->>>> when I came to Christ, and I was washed clean by the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. Everyone of those sins and transgressions was removed and washed away. Permanently forgotten about and thrown away into the sea forgetfulness. Here’s the thing. I hope you’re reading this. Once a person comes to Christ and they start reading the Bible. They’re going to realize that Jesus Christ did say to repent about 40 times. Don’t be fooled. Do not be fooled. I can give you no less than probably 30 verses right now easily they come right out of the mouth of Jesus talking about repentance, remember six of the seven churches were told to repent where their candlestick would be removed. What do you think that means? He said in Luke 13:3-5 you’ll likewise perish if you don’t repent. So when you come to Christ and you’ve been made brand new Only because you’re saved by Grace. Saved by grace through faith alone by Jesus Christ did at the cross. That’s it. It doesn’t matter if you can give $1 billion to the poor. If you do that because you love your neighbor then that’s great. But that doesn’t get you into heaven. A lot of people seem to misunderstand the fact that once you’ve come to Christ and you’re walking on that narrow path and you’re doing everything you can to be obedient because you love Jesus. Yes people do trip up and fall. But if I was to start lying and stealing again, maybe if I decided to take up that abominable lifestyle again and I wanted to go break out some of that witchcraft stuff you get at the stores. And maybe start being a narcissist and being violent towards people again. Which I’m not gonna do any event. would you say that the person really saved if they’re still living like the world!!!! just because you call yourself a Christian, does it make you a Christian unless you can validate it through what it says in the Bible. Have you looked at John chapters 3, 14, 15 & 1 John 1-5 and examined yourself. Don’t be fooled folks. After you come to Christ and even wash clean, you don’t have a free ticket to do whatever you want. Because if a new work is to be started in you, then you actually have to be in dwelt The Holy Spirit. Also, you’re gonna learn as you walk with Christ that the old nature is gone. That’s what it means to carry your cross and to die daily. So if you slip up and argue with your wife. You can ask for forgiveness and try not to do it again. Nobody’s perfect, but there certainly is a difference between willful deliberate sinful, living, and the occasional mistake. Too many people will Cherry pick everything he saying and say well I can do whatever I want so if I wanna have an alternative lifestyle and practice voodoo, I can do that because I’m a Christian, I can be a witch and just do good spells because I’m a Christian. You know stealing from my employer is not that bad because you know he’s a billionaire anyway and it doesn’t matter. You know I can cheat on my wife because that’s my work wife. And it’s OK because my wife will never know and I’m a Christian, do you see the problem with that. Those are the people who live like that who are called Luke warm or they’re told to depart from Christ. And the reason this message is so long is I came to Christ in 1990 !!!! every single thing I described in the beginning of this message except the lying in the stealing I was doing that before I became a Christian. Or at least when I thought I became a Christian in 1990 .. everything I described there I did after I supposedly came to Christ. And I went to church and I read the Bible and I did all kinds of stuff. So it took me until 2009 to realize that I wasn’t saved when I was on my deathbed and the demons were in the room waiting to take me to hell. Not everyone has a chance to have the Lord intervene when you’re on your deathbed second from being dragged off to hell.!!

Voddie, yes it's wrong to trust the human effort of works righteousness i.e., what we do/don't do for salvation-it's also wrong to mock those who've had victory over sin via the Holy Spirit. Clearly we are not saved by works [Gal 2 v16/3 v10/5 v4, Eph 2 v8-9, Rom 3 v20;28/11 v6, Acts 26 v18, Titus 3 v5 Mark 7] but please remember, God also *commands* people everywhere *to repent* [Luke 13 v5, Acts 17 v30/26 v20, Matt 3 v2/8], to *turn from sin,* and place their hope of salvation in Christ. The Bible also says: "we shall know them by their fruits" [Matt 7 v16]; being the *evidence* of salvation where *the old things* passed away-they are a "new creature" [2 Cor 5 v17].

100% I did not like it when he accused the person who got sober by the grace of God, gave God the glory, and testifies of the goodness of God….as being prideful. What the heck was that? The guy repented and was delivered, speaks about it, but is “prideful”? How?! The man was obviously saved by grace. The grace that brings salvation! Titus 2: 11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Are we not to crucify the flesh, are we not to put away the old man, to walk in the newness of life. The only thing we can do is confess our sins, and be forgiven of those sins and unrighteousness 1Jn.1:9. God in Christ is who cleanses us of our uncleaness, as Dan 12:10, states, many shall , be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Was good till half way in. I've read. Go sin no more . Be holy for I am holy, repent for the remission of sins. The pure in heart will see God. Who are the pure in heart ? Those who keep his commandments. Faith without works is dead. Works without faith is dead too. But judging your brothers they dont have faith and you are tripping them up by judging wether they have faith?. Their struggle is real, they pray to God and love God they are seeking him for help. They just need the whole truth. Youre forgiven The curse of sin is lifted. His blood cleanses us. Go sin no more. Run the race whole heartily. Seek out your own salvation with fear and trembling. His mercies are new every morning. Let those who say the name Christ depart from iniquity. Is it that hard to preach to the sheep? It's quite clear. Salvation? Saved from what?

Saved from what? Saved from the wrath of God, saved from His judgment. As a sinner, (we all are) you will be standing one day in front of the Almighty God to be judged for everything you have done while you were alive. What you think His sentence will be for you, innocent or guilty? Since we are all sinners none of us is innocent, that's why Jesus came and died in our place and with His blood washed away all of our sins so that when that day will come although guilty, we will stand innocent in front of God. John 3:16 -" For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Saved from what? Saved from God just judgment, saved form our second death which is eternal condemnation.

Just starting this. But ironically, it seems to me like Voddie starts this study by ‘tooting his own horn’ in asserting that his approach to preaching the Bible is the superior one. This to me seems to contradict the fist principle of the Sermon on the Mount which is, “blessed are the poor in spirit“.

Have you confessed Christ as Lord? Do you believe in your heart (truly in your heart) that God raised Him with all power in His hands? If so, meditate on the below. And know that you are saved by the power and grace of God! Romans 10: 9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Edit: we all go through seasons of Romans 7:14-25. You are not alone. Have faith in the cleansing power of Christ's blood over us. He died for you and me.

@rlewi2ds
@rlewi2ds Год назад
@FrankSmanck To exercise faith, we have to understand the difference between "faith" and "wishful thinking". For example: The world says; if you don't have evidence, but you believe in something, then you have faith. Which is absolutely incorrect! All that is... is "wishful thinking". Faith is "trusting in" and "standing on" the GOOD EVIDENCE we have for the things we have yet to see. (I.e. our salvation through Christ's atoning work). This is a heart thing... I have faith in it, and trust in Him based on the evidence. For me...I have evaluated the EVIDENCE (life of Jesus, fulfillment of prophecy, historical facts, science etc) and come to the conclusion that Christianity best answers the questions of origin, destination and the problem of evil. And I TRUST FULLY in the fact God sent His Son to die for us (those who choose to accept Him). Now, I know that I am a sinner and I try my best not to sin, and I fail miserably all the time because of the sin that is in me. Yet, I know that my spirit and my mind have been transformed by the saving knowledge of Christ. So I continue to dust myself off and do the will of the Father (which I believe is to get know Him John 17:3.. His will is not "works based", it is only by grace we are saved Eph 2:8-9) So...my soul has peace in the fact that I serve a mighty God, who knew this all in advance and has made a way for me. My treasure in heaven may not be as great as another's, but I am fully holding on to Gods hand. Check out: www.gotquestions.org/assurance-salvation.html

If a person wanted to belong to the Lord he wasn`t welcome but thrown to hell: "It's not about a man's will but about Gods` mercy." Is this true? Do you think anyone who is not chosen by God would even want to be one of God's children? Is this true and where is this evident in the bible? And if I am seeking the Lord - how do I know it's an honest search and not a fake search as to keep me lost. I pray and cry out to God for his mercy and grace to know and have faith in his Son as many times as I can a day - but I'm struggling. I'm struggling to get surety of my salvation - if I even am saved to be called a son of God. So then, he has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy and he hardens whom he wants to harden. Romans 9:18 - am I hardened? I do not understand how you can just say " I have faith in the Son" and be saved - how do you even know that faith us true?

I listened to a pastor one time say that Jesus’ sheep hear His voice, He knows them and they follow Him, and therefore they cannot be snatched away. The actual verse is in John 10. And I knew in that moment I did not hear His voice or follow Him. I was not one of His. The same preacher said that sin is usually the reason we can’t hear from God, it separates us from Him. So I asked God that day what it was that was separating me from Him. He told me very specifically. I heard His voice. When He said it, I was afraid. I was a slave to the thing He brought to my mind. I knew that I couldn’t stop doing this thing apart from divine help. I considered that God made the whole world and everything in it, including me. He raised Christ from the grave. Could He not remove this thing from my life? I handed it over to Him. I turned from it that day and trusted Him to save me. And He did. His voice and His Spirit are assurance. But there are things that block them. I’m not saying this to accuse you, but let my little testimony be a light to you and your situation. I hope I could help.

I was down for a lot of this sermon, but one thing I didn’t like. Voddie shaming the person who got sober by the grace of God, who was giving glory to God, and calling him prideful. Why are you accusing your righteous brother in Christ. Do you not believe Christ actually makes people righteous and changes their lives? I have a very similar testimony. I believed that Jesus made me righteous by His blood and put His life in me to live it out. And He did both. That’s called faith, not “works righteousness”. What the man did that you’re describing is repent, which we are all commanded to do. Looks like grace still saved that man. Don’t accuse someone for having a testimony of God’s grace being effective.
